What a really cool arcade! It's got games that are featured that someone from the 90s that grew up would actually understand how to play and are featured. Though everything doesn't take coins, it's features a good array of games that'll keep you entertained. read more

serious customer service issues. First time I have ever posted a review for any business, but was made to feel as if we were stealing from them. It was mine and my young sons first time in Machine Shed. First staff member told us they would assist us in back. did not see a designated area to pay for the arcade and I poked my head in the arcade to see if there was a place to pay. The next staff member seemed more interested in catching people sneaking in then assisting a customer and made us feel like thieves. The first staff member asked if they had helped us and I explained how his staff had treated us. His response " you can see what kind of neighborhood we are in". read more

This place is awesome! There's such a nice collection of different games here - the old school ones are my favorite - it brings some much nostalgia back and so much flavor in those good ol' classics. I would highly recommend for anyone trying to get a good time and they're not expensive, which makes it even more enjoyable! read more

Had a great date night here with my husband. For 10 dollars per person you can play the games all day long. They had lots of different games, genres and pinball to choose from. The down side was that it was pretty cold in this area of the building and the floor was missing some pieces so you had to be a little cautious. read more

I brought my husband here for a date and we had a blast! Tons of arcade games, pinball machines, something for everyone! The unlimited play makes it a great deal and there's dozens of games to try! 10/10 Thanks for a great experience! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

If you have never been to Machine Shed, you should take the kids and check it out. They were smart enough to collect all of the old arcade games that you can remember and put them into one place. We have spent an entire afternoon in their lost in arcade bliss without realizing that several hours had already passed. It's a great place to beat the sun and chill out. Fun vintage video games and pinball machines from the 80's and 90's! Both adults and kids had fun, our favs were Ms PAC-Man, Big Game Hunter, Golden Tee and Alien 51! This is cheap entertainment and fun, kids were $5 and $10 for adults to play games the entire day (we spent an hour in the afternoon and came back again after supper for more games and did not have to pay again!). Location is in a nice neighborhood near the Mayo but the actual building is very basic with minimal signage - it's not fancy but it's fun! read more

What an incredible place! I'm an avid collector of video game consoles, happened to be in Rochester for a wedding, so I checked the place out and oh man this is heaven. This is a LEGIT vintage gaming dealer. When I visited they had everything from Intellivision to more modern consoles like GameCube. They're very cool about trying to hardware out--there's 4 CRTs lined up for you to plug and play whatever you find on the shelf. Best thing about the place is the owner James, he's super friendly and welcoming and the guy is an encyclopedia of knowledge. Highly recommend chatting him up if you've got questions about best methods for connecting consoles to your TV, mods, game recommendations, etc. Almost forgot to mention--the store doubles as a legit old school arcade like the good old days. At the very least check the place out to get your Dance Dance Revolution on. read more

I initially called GameStop to see if they could test my N64 and see if it was broken and they recommended I call the Machine Shed. I had never heard of them but gave it a shot and they are my new go-to. The guys there said bring it in and we'll check it out free of charge (this was the biggest selling point for me because I wasn't about to spend a bunch just to find out it's a heap of junk. They had other people come in and they would set my stuff down and help them first but I had absolutely no problem with that because at the time I wasn't a paying customer yet). They pulled out their own cords, did a quick scrub/troubleshooting on it, and within 15 minutes had it running. They offered to do the restoration clean for $25/console but I did it myself instead. Personal preference. Called for an expansion pak ($45), memory card ($15) and the transfer pak ($15) and all were not only in stock but the best price quoted from literally anywhere including online. Seems like everyone online is trying to get a collector's price while the Machine Shed is charging a fair price for the exact same thing in the same, if not better, condition. Honestly if your not sure, just call and ask before. It's worth the time. read more

By far the best deal for gaming arcades in Rochester! If you have your own consoles at home it is worth scanning their shelves and you can buy their big arcade box's too! They have tons of cool retro items besides games as well. The staff is extremely chill and they have Virtual Reality! Just pay one time and you can game all day! If your gaming console or remotes act up they will fix them or replace them at a reasonable price as well! By far the best arcade around! Kids are free too! If you remember how the Shed was over a decade ago they expanded and it's about 4 times bigger! 12 out of 10 ;) read more
