This was an absolutely perfect supper experience. We stopped in at about 5pm on a Saturday, without reservations, and lucked out. They had only two tables free for our party of two, and we chose one up top. It turned out we sat side by side, with an amazing view overlooking the staircase and the main dining room. This enabled us to scout out the food that looked good, too, and it turned out they had a lot of awesome-looking food! We had impeccable service from Noah. The dining room was PACKED but we were never left wanting for anything, and every interaction was friendly and helpful. I wish more restaurants had service of this caliber! We started off with a Wisconsin old fashioned and a Brussels sprouts appetizer. The drink was great, and we were both really impressed with the amount and flavor of the Brussels sprouts. I then ordered a Caramel Confessions drink, which was sweet and amazing (I saved some for the end, as my dessert) while my husband had a local beer. For our main dish, we split the YOLO pizza, what they called the meat lovers'. It was delicious. I'm a bread snob, and I make my own pizza dough, and their crust as fantastic with good chewiness. Toppings were plentiful, and the cheese even had a great pull. We were full after that. Really, just a fantastic place in every way. Came here with a huge party, we had the upstairs to ourselves. Our waitress was excellent. Truly incredible at her job. I can't recall her name but hopefully they'll reward her!! Food was great. The only time we experienced a mixup was tonight, where we had booked a reservation for 6 PM over the phone & we were told upon arrival that it was mistakenly booked for 7. I am so happy for Muddled Thyme to bring another stellar drinking and dining location to Winona! I was here for 2-3 hours on a Friday night and there was never a lull in business, and yet service was still present and friendly. The main level is busier with tables, booths, and bar seating. Upstairs is quieter with only a few tables. Decor is beautiful with a mix of current styles (subway tiles, neon signs, air plants, etc) mixed with some Victorian touches in the bathrooms. We had a few pizzas: Sausage and Herbs, Spicy Pepperoni, and Fig and Bleu. Every one was amazing. Rave reviews around the table. This was echoed on the appetizers too of the Brussels Sprouts and Burrata. I have zero negatives to say about Muddled Thyme. I have so much hope that this business will thrive as it's owned by the woman who successfully owns Blooming Grounds. Can't wait to visit again! read more

Great food, service and lovely ambiance. The muddled Thyme is a foodie spot in Winona. We had the arugula salad, and the special pizza which was local sausage and "ramps" (these were like a green onion). Mikayla was a wonderful server - she split the salad for us as I wanted Parmesan cheese instead- good size salad I must say. The pizza crust is delicious, and the pizza was good tasting however, I think a little red sauce or more white sauce would have been nicer. It was a little dry. This is one of my two favorite places to bring friends in Winona. Pizza is crisp on the bottom but still soft, the perfect amount of sauce. If you've ever been to punch pizza this is an upgraded version of both their pizza and the cocktails () I seriously made the basil smash at home for multiple people and for hosting because it was so good. So refreshing. For it being as busy as it was on a Friday night the service was pretty quick and the food came out shortly after the cocktails (since we ordered them at the same time) the vibe inside is super cute with all of the mirrors and the tall ceilings. But I'll tell you this elote pizza I had last night was the best thing I've ever eaten. I debated about finishing the whole thing or taking some home for leftovers. I opted for leftovers and they haunted me all night from the fridge, every time I walked by I thought I'm going to eat that pizza! While the vibe (presentation and attitude) and ambiance (decor and layout) are on par with any trendy spot you'd see in the Twin Cities, the menu items leave something to be desired. The Lillet Spritz and Habanero Paloma were of good quality and secured the assertion of being a cocktail spot, so it's great for a drink before a show like the Great River Shakespeare Festival. Unfortunately, they were out of the wedge salad, which was partially what brought us through the door to begin with. But what really let us down were the pizzas they supposedly focus on. The crusts were underdone, doughy and flimsy and unable to stand up to the weight of their toppings. The "Spicy" Pepperoni was almost child-friendly compared to the Paloma. The Fig & Bleu was a too-sweet sea of balsamic drowning the cheese and bringing the pizza to an overall unsatisfying soggy texture. If you need to come here, stick to the apps and drinks, and hope they have what you want in stock. read more
