    Magret de canard

The meal and atmosphere was simply amazing. The service was great. I ordered the Magret de canard and took the server suggestion for medium rare and it was perfect. The duck had a lovely sear and was very tender and juicy. The brussels sprouts were addicting providing a sweet and salty complement. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and gave a nice woodsy and nutty flavor. The sweet potatoes gnocchi was so sweet and soft providing a great contrast and finally the pear gave such a sweet and perfect finish to the meal. The wine pairing of Pinot Noir was perfect. Can't wait to return!

A wonderful dining experience in one of the more unique places in La Crosse. The ambiance leans toward elegant, but no need to be dressed to the nines to dine here. Though making a reservation is a must. The French onion soup was delicious and flavorful, compared to other places where it is not. The ribeye was tender and juicy and cooked correctly. I wish there was more red win reduction to get it on my steak. The potatoes were crunchy and the brussel sprouts were a nice touch.

We had a work function at Le Chateau. It was a wonderful, non traditional venue for drinks and dinner. Can't miss the exquisite artisan cocktails in Le Cave, the downstairs bar. Owners invested heavily on the ambiance, and followed with an incredible drink menu and talented barkeeps. Dinner on the main level was wonderful - great service and a excellent menu with a French flair. Consider Le Chateau for a date night or business function, you won't be disappointed!

This is supposed to be an espresso martini??

Stopped here on a busy Saturday night with another couple. We sat at a high top and waited forever for service. We actually gave up and went to the bar to order our drinks. I decided on a cocktail that wasn't on their menu, an espresso martini, because every good cocktail place should know how to make a good one. Then we waited even longer for the drinks to arrive. I've had A LOT of espresso martinis and I've never had one look like what arrived. I've also NEVER asked to have a drink removed from a bill because it was so awful I couldn't drink it. That's exactly what I did. Once the waitress finally came back I told her that I couldn't drink it and her response was "I didn't think it looked right either". Then why did you serve it to me and wait 30 minutes before checking on us?! Yikes...one extra star because the place looks cool. Just don't stray from the drink menu I guess?!

Yes....Lamb Wellington! - A plated beef Wellington features a flaky pastry crust, cooked beef center, and green garnish, served with a sauce and vegetables.

Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent service. Amazing food! You wanna treat yourself and your spouse to a special night out, make your reservations now. The Lamb Wellington was prepared perfectly. A delicious follow-up to the very richly tasting escargot. We barely had room for dessert, but we're so glad we ordered the Pecan crusted honey lemon cheesecake. A very bright and tasty finish to our dinner. Definitely a place to visit again.

Wow! Where do i begin...came to La Crosse from Santa Monica, California to visit my partners family. I found this "Speakeasy" La Cave from a google search. Upon arriving we found this unique downstairs bar at this mansion, which i must say was a beautiful venue, kind of small (got fairly busy) but got there right at opening. Great prices, great quality, great quantity. The bartenders were very sweet, and dressed nicely. We had a few drinks and appetizers for date night. The bad part? Well, not much bad, maybe just the clientele, i expected with something this nice maybe a little more high class folks, not men in Jeans and tshirts talking about their wives or strip clubs, men in their 50-60's at the bar, and the bad thing about those men was, the owner was being kind of a sleaze ball and hanging out with that crowd of men at the bar, not a very good look. Like he wasn't into the success of the bar but making it a sleeze hang out spot for his friends and him and save spots for friends who wanted a table. I felt like i was sitting at the bar top of a hole in the wall bar, not even the men in Beverly Hills act like that. Those white men were kind of rude to the bartenders who were of other race, not a very ethical diverse owned. They only had a meat charcuterie board or a cheese, not one combined. Seemed very odd. I may come back if i visit again but they should really change the way they allow their clients (friends) act in a "fancy" establishment they're going for. Owner bought his friends a round of drinks, i said wow that's nice maybe we should to deal with their maturity like they never left high school, BUT on the other hand they gave me two free glasses of wine which made it all much better! Check it out if you live here or visiting, cute little upscale bar.

An absolutely beautiful, old world European feel. I happened to arrive during happy hour. Cocktails are a couple dollars off. Some wine options available for $5. Also a few appetizers for $3-$5. I decided to try one of their smoked drinks and went for the "Butter Put your mask on," which was a peanut butter whiskey drink. On the sweeter side, but definitely got a nice whiff of smoke, and could appreciate the peanut butter flavor. I decided to skip appetizers and went for their salmon dish. The salmon was cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. The couscous part underneath did not make sense though. I'm not an expert cook by any means but it tasted very saucy Italian and more comfort food. By itself good. With the salmon, it didn't work. Great service. I would definitely try this place again.

Beautiful building with an abundant history. Food was spectacular and the staff were so kind and welcoming. They allowed me to tour the home after my dinner and I enjoyed a drink after dinner downstairs. This is a Must if you are in the area!

I have had the privilege of both dining and also photographing at Le Chateau. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The food and drinks are some of the very best in the La Crosse area. I have also photographed a wedding and an engagement at Le Chateau. The building and decor made for stunning photos! I highly recommend making a reservation for dinner and also checking out the amazing bar in the basement!!

4 sisters catered our wedding reception in La Crosse. Over a year ago we did a tasting with them…read moreand all the food was delicious. My wife and I are vegetarian and they did a great job in catering to our needs. We ended up ordering a vegetarian taco/nacho buffet and a charcuterie board with no meat. This is where the pleasantries will end. Fast forward to our wedding reception day. We walk into the venue and the first thing we notice are multiple platters of meat on our charcuterie board. Tough start to the night.......as we were wanting a meat free wedding. To us, eating vegetarian is a very important value and seeing the meat was pretty devastating. Next, the power temporary went out (due to a nasty storm) so we weren't able to use the nacho cheese machine (something we paid for). Lastly, the leftovers were thrown away when we were told that they'd be packaged up. Coming to present day. We just got off the phone with our caterer contact, Jessica Koenen. We would have been fine with an apology and a small refund on the food that wasn't used and the meat. Even with all that happened, Jessica was not willing to refund us for even a small portion of our bill and even insinuated that it was our fault for not confirming with her that we didn't want meat on the charcuterie board. She wasn't willing to take responsibility for THEIR mistake. We even have it in our wedding notes to ask about a meatless charcuterie board- which we did discuss with her at our tasting. She then had the audacity of saying that we should have noticed on the invoice that it said "Charcuterie board" instead of "Charcuterie board without meat". There was NO WAY that we would have known that!! All our other vendors sent us a partial refund for the services that weren't provided because of the power outage even though they had no control over the weather. That is how business is done. 4 sisters catering decided to blame us for the charcuterie board, nacho cheese, and leftover food. They decided to take no responsibility for the night. We would have been fine with a $100 refund for the nacho cheese. Even though the total cost that we already paid for and was wasted on the day over was substantially more. Lack of responsibility is not how quality businesses operate. I would avoid using 4 sisters and Jessica for your next event.
