We had a nice time in LaCrosse The staff was friendly, the venue was well kept & clean, and the food was tasty. I ordered the following: A decaf 12 oz cappuccino with oat milk and a smidge of vanilla. It was delectable. An orange cranberry scone- very tasty And the "Berry Good for You" sandwich prepared with: Turkey & Lettuce with raspberry mayo served on wheat bread. The sandwich plate had a side of kettle chips which suited the plate well. The bread tasted as if they could have baked it. The turkey and lettuce were tasty and the kettle chips were crunchy. I tried the chili as well, it was pretty tasty. I recommend Cabin Coffee to Lacross visitors who would like tasty coffee & a handful of healthier options for food. read more

We visited this place from out of town mostly because we found a parking spot and this was close by. It was early on a Saturday but the line was almost out the door and it was a 20 minute wait for our breakfast sandwiches. They forgot to give my husband a cup for his coffee and there was a man waiting on a latte who had ordered ahead of us whom I overheard ask the barista at least two times and she seemed to keep forgetting. When we asked about my husband's coffee, the woman behind the counter didn't even apologize but made some comment about being "understaffed like everyone else" and even if it's true, left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess this place is a chain so they don't necessarily have control over a lot when it comes to employee satisfaction, hiring practices, etc... but there seemed to be an awful lot of unhappy people in the coffee shop while we were there, customers and workers alike and that doesn't seem like a good thing for future business. read more

They are open during Covid. Some of their tables have signs asking you not to sit at them to maintain social distancing. When I visited, there were very few other customers, so this was not an issue. Staff was wearing plastic lower face shields. I ordered a dirty chai with almond milk and a veggie bagel with hummus instead of cream cheese. Total was $15, which felt slightly steep for a chain. They also offer soy and coconut milk non dairy options. Vegan food options were pretty sparse - you could modify the veggie sandwich or a garden salad. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions. The decor is like Hobby Lobby Texas style. Not very cute or cozy, but more corporate kitschy. The dining areas and bathrooms were clean though. Just very much not my style. The dirty chai came iced, which I hadn't asked for. It was pretty sweet, but otherwise ok. We stopped in for a morning coffee fix while passing through on our way to Minnesota. The shop is located in the heart of downtown LaCrosse and has an easy to find storefront located on a corner. Parking is tough to find but we did manage to Find a spot up the block. Once inside the barista welcomed us and gave us plenty of time to Look over the huge coffee menu. Franchise coffee shop that seems like a local shop - however they they roast their own beans on site which is not your typical corporate action - and they do a great job. Right downtown, close to the convention center, Cabin Coffee is a great place for excellent coffee or a good meal. Done in a cowboy theme (which I found a little odd considering their name), down to saddles in places of seats on some stools, it has good wifi to go along with it's great coffee. I had a breakfast bagel - pretty good, and a lot better than many places. I am sure this will become one of my favorite places to do a little work - they also have a meeting room that you can reserve if you would like to do a small offsite meeting. read more

Literally the rudest baristas I've ever come in contact with. The managers are the worst ones. I've witnessed them bark and scream at delivery drivers for just doing their jobs. Molly refused to give me the wifi password even after I ordered a drink. The layout of the shop is not socially distanced properly either, I felt crammed and uncomfortable the whole time I was there. My fiancé and I went here for a quick breakfast before leaving town after an amazing weekend in LaCrosse. We both got espresso beverages that were equally delicious. They have such an extensive menu and great strip options. I was also surprised at their milk options too ranging from skim to almond milk to rice milk too. I was very impressed. Really delicious coffee roasted in-house! This is the first place we've visited in Lacrosse where the staff has been friendly, so we're making it our base camp. A cozy, coffee shop downtown, this is a popular place for students. With a western theme, the decor is cute and quirky. They roast the beans on site. The baristas are fantastic! Outgoing, bubbly, and willing to offer suggestions for a drink or food. My favorite roast is the Costa Rican. They will even custom roast it for you if you'd prefer lighter or darker roasts. The middle-aged barista named Molly who works there is extremely rude. I set my stuff down, still debating on what I wanted to order. In the meantime I kindly asked for the wifi code and she responded with "well are you going to buy something first?" I found it to be very unprofessional and made me feel very unwelcome there. I decided to call her out on it and she did not apologize or nothing to say back. So I left. This is not the first time people have had bad experiences with her, as many of my friends said they had similar encounters. We had a bit of a wait for a table at Fayze's, so I swung into Cabin Coffee for some caffeine. Cute place! I saw a white coffee on the menu and asked if that was just a white mocha type of thing. The gal working the counter not only told me about white coffee, she pulled out some grounds to show me and let me sniff. Stranded in Lacrosse with my car in the shop all day, I was happy to stumble across this little coffee shop. I tried a Tumbleweed mocha featuring their white coffee, and, though a little pricey ($5 for 16 oz.) it was interesting and sweet, tasting more like a caramel hot chocolate than a coffee drink. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, especially when I let them know my car situation. They were even kind enough to check in on me after I'd been there a few hours and even let me borrow a phone charger since my charger (in addition to my car) was broken. The shop is cute and cozy and cabin like, and not a bad place to be stuck for the afternoon, despite the country music. I am giving cabin coffee 2 stars and its not because of the products the products are great and in fact that is why they are getting a 3 star review instead of a 1 star. I frequently visit Cabin Coffee and have since i was in my freshman year to either work on homework or just Enjoy time with friends. On this particular visit i brought a child i was mentoring to do work here because the environment is so friendly. Today i was met with hostility from one of the baristas who seemed to just want us to leave before we had even sat down. So i decided to sit and wait until i could get a different barista but then the barista who had acted rudely before refused to let me and this child sit and do his virtual schooling and insisted that we needed to buy something now or leave. Now this isn't a huge deal i can understand policy but this policy is posted no where in the coffee shop and was not enforced on any other customers as i watched 3 different groups come in and not be required to buy anything. I am a person of color but would never say that this is the reason why they were hostile because i have had many great experiences here and even after today will still come back by felt this was something that needed to be addressed and hopefully cleaned up. I am unsure of the Baristas name as she was not wearing a name tag but i think a sit down with employees and some customer service training would be best. Again i come to cabin coffee all the time and enjoy the products served but customer service is a big portion of business and this needs to be fixed or even post signs but rudeness towards customers should not be tolerated. read more
