My daughter works incredibly hard as a first responder at a local hospital--four 12-hour shifts a week caring for others. On her rare day off today, she had one simple dream: a delicious crêpe. She looked online, saw that The Crêperie Cafe had great reviews, and noticed they opened at 11:00. Visions of warm Nutella, strawberries, and perfectly folded crêpes danced in her head all morning. She even waited until 11:15 to arrive--because she's polite like that. Unfortunately, the only thing served this morning was confusion and disappointment. When she walked in, a sad little man sprinted from the back of the restaurant to the front shouting, "The doors shouldn't be open yet! WHO OPENED THE DOOR?" like he was investigating a major security breach instead of greeting a customer who just wanted a delicious breakfast. My daughter--who regularly handles ACTUAL emergencies--was so startled and embarrassed that she simply turned around and left... still crêpe-less. So instead of a relaxing day off treat, she got yelled at by a crêpe sentry. Not exactly the customer experience we were hoping for. We were genuinely excited to try the food here, but sadly we'll never know how the crêpes taste--because apparently getting through the door is a challenge. Very disappointing. If the crêpes are as guarded as the front door, they must be extraordinary, so good luck to the next person! read more

So so so so so bad. We ordered via Uber eats and they listened to none of our instructions even though they were printed on the receipt... sauce on the side, nope. Salsa with the quesadilla... nope. We decided to go get some crepes after a movie last weekend with some friends and our kids. Before we walked in there was a emo junkie looking guy sprawled out on the table out front. When went into the shop we noticed the back two booths were filled with a bunch of either older teens to young 20 something kids laying around the tables. There were about 8 of them. They all looked super baked and emo just sitting on their phones. We stood up front waiting for someone to come out the back to take out order for a few minutes. It was such a weird vibe. Almost like they were annoyed we were in there. Right when we were about to leave a kid gets up from the table where those other kids are sitting and comes over to take our order. As soon as we put in our order the kid asks us for a tip . Got our food, left, it was decent. Came back today because my daughter wanted a crepe after school. We pulled up at 4pm all the lights were on but the door was locked. We looked inside and again a bunch of those kids were all hanging around the back booth on their phones. We were confused and stepped back to look at their sign and it said they should still be open for a few more hours. The kids looked up at us and then proceeded playing on their phones. Didn't unlock the door. Seems like it's a hang out spot for a bunch of lazy kids to sit on their phones while their friend "works". read more

We like crepes. A lot. It's hit or miss the last several months here though. The food itself is good, usually. We like both the sweet and the savory crepes. We have noticed that the restaurant itself is going downhill as far as keeping it cleaned up and tables orderly. The upkeep and cleanliness really do make a difference. If we think a place will get slammed with a health violation, we are not likely to go there. We do want to tell the owners, as we are fellow restaurant folks, that you don't need to let anyone stay and loiter when they are not buying food or if they are just taking up space. We were unhappy with the people at two nearby tables, who knew each other and were overly loud for the small restaurant. You do have the right to ask them to leave. Keep serving great food 100% of the time. read more

Story time: I went to Walmart on my break at work and forgot my belt so I had to go buy one. By the time I came to the self checkout to pay I forgot my wallet at work in my locker. Luckily there was a very kind man willing to pay for my belt. I asked how I could repay him in the future and he said to stop by his restaurant, this was it. I came a few hours later on my lunch break to repay by ordering food. It was amazing, there was art for sale from locals on the walls, there were clean tables, and the service was great. It might take a bit for your food but it's worth every second. Thank you for paying for my belt and giving me future lunches. :) read more

The food was good... food alone would rate 4stars. We ordered the Porkie and the Artichoke. Both were very tasty, large portions and was made quick. The atmosphere left something to be desired. Boxes of to-go boxes, plastic utensils stacked up in the dining room and is somewhat dark. There are only 5-6 tables available. The service left something to be desired. We came in almost 20 min before the posted closing time. We ordered and then were told we had to take our order to go since it would take 10 min to prepare it and we wouldn't be allowed to eat in the restaurant. The food was ready in about 7 min (pleasant surprise). We were grabbing food before going to a movie so we had to sit on the couches at Edwards to eat!!! There were 3 other tables full of people still eating when we left with our food. We were finished eating 3 min after closing time and went to put the left overs in our car and there were still people sitting in the restaurant. If patrons come in before closing, they should be allowed to eat the food they paid for inside. Unreal. read more

Not only that but the workers looked baked out of their minds and had very little customer service. Very lethargic work ethic from everyone in the store. I would never go again! Posted this from in the store before we got our food, ended up taking 45 minutes and we only got our food after asking about our order. The worker was just standing holding our order chatting away. Food was mediocre as best and couldn't even be finished. The kitchen and staff didn't look sanitary. If I could go back and give this place a zero star I would. I would give this restaurant a four star based on its location and the prices. But they have a lot of unpleasant things that makes me rate a one. The day that me and wife went, business was really slow. The restaurant is pretty dirty and appears to not be kept up with basic cleaning. As soon as we arrived employees were not welcoming, instead of speaking she would just point at items to answer any questions we had. After getting our food and beginning to eating, the employees began to yell at each other in front of the guest due to orders getting messed up. Ok the food is BAD, and I mean it is not good at all! The service was prompt which is they get 2 stars. I will NOT be coming back again based on this visit, yikes! I ordered the Artichoke Crepe and it looked like dog food, the crepe tasted like raw dough, just not good over all. I hope they improve things in the future. I used Uber eats to order from the crêperie. When I received my order, it was on time, and the crêpe was tasty. However, that's where the positive ends. I had ordered a canned soda that was at room temperatureI when it arrived, and when I opened the to go box and picked up the raspberry honey mustard sauce cup, it spilled all down my white shirt as the lid had not been tightened... I'm assuming that my shirt will have a red stain on it that won't come out. Not very pleased with their attention to detail, (or lack there of.) Nothing fancy here but delicious crepes delivered either before or after a movie. My favorite is the Thai crepe which is flavorful and delicious! The Mediterranean is also really good. The picture is of the Elvis which is a dessert crepe. The restaurant is not fancy and a little cluttered, but the friendliness and excellent food outweigh this. Came here only for the Nutella crepe. We wanted bananas, strawberry and Nutella. We got it for $7.40. It was honestly only ok.. the Nutella banana and strawberry were super good but the crepe was less then desirable. It was luke warm and was kind of rubbery. Crepes! Those are so rare and you are so happy when you find them. A piece of home. The variety of them on the menu is pretty big, but not what you would find in France for sure, it's an American menu or French crepes. They don't offer any galette, so same dough for savory and sweet. The staff and service are nice, but tables and the place could be kept cleaner. It could also be more environmentally friendly when you are eating inside. The place is pretty small so you can feel packed easily. I try not to judge a restaurant based on employee attire etc. This one was very difficult though. This particular employee took our order today at around 3pm. It was jaw dropping that any employee can get away with wearing this? I can say that despite the taste of the food, I don't want to subject my teenage daughter to viewing this, nor do I want her thinking that is acceptable for any girl, or woman for that matter, to wear. It had a cheesecake flavored sauce that was quite good but just average crepe over all. Only 3 stars because the place is cluttered. I don't mind eclectic but is it necessary to have 100+ Nutella jars everywhere and a mish-mash of all decor. And, the cashier was nice but he was eating on the line as he prepped. Indigo and I were tired of being in the house so we went out in search of a bite to eat. We walked in and were told that orders were to go only as they closed soon. I felt awkward and said that was ok but should have just left and gone elsewhere. They made the strawberry blintz super fast and out the door we went. It was windy as all get out and the park bench we found out front wasn't working out so we ate in the car. The blintz was great! No complaints there. The reason for 3 stars was that there was a couple chatting at a table inside and they didn't leave while we ate on the park bench and then in the car. I felt that perhaps, we could have stayed a few minutes and eaten. I felt it was unfair that the couple the was allowed to stay but not us. In the reviews I see similar situations. Maybe the staff should just flat out tell people that they're closing early and save everyone the awkwardness of choosing between crepes to go or a welcoming atmosphere elsewhere. If I could do it all over again, I'd choose the latter option. The artwork on the wall is nifty though, take a gander if you're there. But do not go anytime near closing time. read more

Full disclosure: I have not been to their cafe. I got one of their crepes at the Boise Market on Saturday morning. I have never had a crepe, much less a savory crepe. I ordered the turkey and artichoke crepe which included spinach, feta, and balsalmic reduction (glaze). I might be missing some ingredients, but I really just wanted to share the fact that I was in love with this crepe! It was sweet and savory and HUGE - I had to share it with friends, who had their own sweet ones, but kept wanting bites of mine. One of the treats I got while I was in Boise that I will remember most. Great combo of flavors! If you want something quick and easy, that's a little different, try a stuffed crepe - YUM! read more

Not today I don't usually rate so low based on service but I'm making an exception today because the food wasn't good enough to make up for it. Apparently you can't order from the coffee menu when the cashier doesn't feel like making drinks so don't come here expecting drinks if they aren't sharing your enthusiasm for a hot beverage. They also served us the wrong crepe which happens but when I told them about it they didn't offer to correct it in fact their poor attitudes would suggest they expected us to just eat it and had they had decent attitudes along with my willingness to try new things I probably would have however poor behavior doesn't earn you a get out of jail free card and for some unexplainable reason I wasn't in the mood for peanut butter. Whole pieces of asparagus in crepes can be difficult to cut especially when they are stringy. Cut up pieces on the other hand would have made my savory crepe more enjoyable. This place has potential because the food wasn't bad, at least not what we tried, We never did get the dessert one we ordered. read more
