I was able to order a drink and lunch in which both arrived promptly. The Mahi sandwich was fresh and the fries were crispy. It was the perfect lunch portion. I visited again during my stay on the island for lunch and chose to be seated in the interior of the restaurant which was very clean and had a great view of the dock and boats going by. The staff were very courteous. My lunch companion had the lobster roll which she said tasted fresh, was packed full of lobster and had a buttery toasted roll. I would definitely visit again because it was easy to be seated even on crowded days, the lively atmosphere and consistently good food. $$ There is limited street parking nearby

We were in MV for a girls trip and I'm so glad we celebrated our last night at 19 Raw. I…read morerecommended this restaurant to my friends based on the reviews and it did not disappoint - the food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. To start, a couple of us ordered oysters as an appetizer and they were delicious, fresh and tasty. For our main courses, we ordered filet mignon, chicken, lobster tagliatelle and tuna from the diverse menu. Each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Everything was cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned perfectly. We also ordered a few sides, such as the roasted carrots with cashew butter, brussel sprouts with pork landons and my favorite - the scallion goat cheese mash, which were mashed potatoes packed with yumminess! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent service, while the ambience was quite comfortable and inviting. I remembered reading reviews about the carrot cake and although we were all full, we knew we had to try it so we got one slice for the five of us and it may have been the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. If you like carrot cake this is a must and well worth it. If you're in Edgartown, I would definitely include 19 Raw in your restaurant list.

We started with the lobster and caviar Hawaiian roll, which was flavorful and delicious. The grilled octopus served over pork and white beans was another standout--the flavor profile here was top tier. Honestly, the appetizers had me expecting the rest of the meal to be on the same level. Unfortunately, the entrées were a different story. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly temperature-wise, but the lack of seasoning was unbelievable. The execution was there, but it desperately needed flavor. We also ordered the halibut, which was extremely dry--to the point that I couldn't finish it. The sides brought things back around. The jalapeño corn and Brussels sprouts were both and packed with flavor. And then there was the Filthy Dirty Rich Martini with caviar-stuffed olives --AMAZING. Easily one of the highlights of the night and something I would absolutely order again. Overall, 19 Raw nails the ambiance, cocktails, appetizers, and service. The appetizers in particular showed just how good the kitchen can be, which made the disappointing entrées even more surprising. I'd come back, but next time I might stick to cocktails, appetizers, and small plates.

All were very good. Only thing I would not get again would be the fish and chips. The fish just had too much batter. Felt like all you were eating was batter. Overall a good place and would certainly go back.

On this episode of eating my way through Martha's Vineyard, we stopped at Square Rigger, one of the…read moreisland's well-known staples. All I wanted that day was some fried shrimp and clam strips -- and for me, the strips are key because they skip the extra parts you get with whole clams. Unfortunately, they were out of clam strips, so we went with fried shrimp, fries, and lobster bisque. Since I had to share with my wife, I asked for extra shrimp -- but heads up, it's $3 per shrimp. Not complaining, just letting you know. The lobster bisque came out hot and creamy, but I was hoping for a bit more depth of flavor and a little more lobster meat and a little less bisque. The shrimp were tasty and fried well, but personally, I prefer mine butterflied for that extra texture and presentation. What stood out most, though, was the service. Friendly, quick, and attentive, which matters a lot when you're trying a local favorite. Overall, Square Rigger delivers a solid experience, but I left wishing for just a little more -- especially when you're at a place with that kind of reputation. Verdict: Good shrimp, great service, but I'll be back hoping for those clam strips next time.

My family and I live in Arizona. When we called to make a reservation. We called at…read more5pm(AZ)/8pm(EST) on Friday several weeks before our visit. A member of the family had requested this location for her birthday dinner. The person who answered the phone "Idk. It's Friday night. I don't have time for this. It's busy." This should have been our first red flag. A separate conversation and call at another time, the GM asked over the phone if we'd like a cake or something special brought in. Very thoughtful. "Yeah we'd love that! Thank you!" When we arrived at our reservation time, the table had to be rearranged while the party waited. Our party was 8 people. When we inquired about the cake, no one present had any idea what we were talking about. They kindly offered to put a sampler dish together which we accepted but all other food and drink took so long, we cancelled it because we just wanted ultimately just wanted to leave. This is a steak house. A few people at the table ordered steaks with a medium center. Plates were brought out and we were advised the steaks had a medium. Every single steak was completely grey inside(well done). There was not a spot of pink inside. We didn't ask for a replacement steak, we just let them know so they would be aware for future steaks and someone else's future steak! We didn't bother asking for the replacement steak because it already took incredibly long for us to get our food and we were hungry. The waitress never apologized. She didn't look like she wanted to be there and was awkwardly hovering between the 2 tables they had filled. Two new steaks were brought out which we thought was nice but it was also suspiciously fast considering our previous long wait. We cut into the new steaks, almost completely raw. There was a man that poured water for us when we sat. He was the only one that looked like he enjoyed working there and showed any real customer service. The menu says 8oz sirloin and instead you get a 10oz New York strip. A larger piece sounds good but it's not what we asked for when we were ordering our food. If you're going to serve a different cut and size, why would you not change your menu? Or at least let customers know when ordering. Drinks were HEAVY. Can't complain about the quality of liquor. The drinks would be put on the table and take almost 10 minutes to get the next drink. The bartender was kind a remixed one of our drinks when we asked to sweeten it. Just wish drinks came out faster. The other food was great! We had pastas, salmon, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. They were very tasty. If the service, and steaks were better, this place would be recommended as it had beautiful flavor. The steak would have been perfect too if they knew how to cook it!

For appetizers we shared the baby gem salad and the pork bolognese. Both good but the pork bolognese was a small but mighty star. Pasta was perfectly al dente and we really enjoyed the goat cheese with the pork. For our mains we ordered the pork chop, halibut and mushroom lasagna. The restaurant is a beautiful, elegant but cozy spot. The outdoor seating is absolutely beautiful for a nice evening. We were there right at opening and were seated outside fairly quickly! Our waiter was welcoming and pleasant. Wished me a happy birthday (multiple times) but nice. There was a cute birthday card at the table but nothing more (most high end establishments usually offer a glass of champs, but I digress ) The menu is moderate not overwhelming with too many options. How do you NOT start your meal with Oysters Rockefeller when they are on the menu? Great choice, they were creamy and delicious. I am typically not a pasta girl but something was calling me about the Mushroom Bolognese! So....I ordered it. Along with a glass of Filipa Pato, which was fabulous!
