Complimentary monkey bread! A large sandwich and delicious onion rings

We ate here for dinner twice during a trip to Traverse City. We were seated immediately. It truly is cozy! Our server, Azure, was incredibly friendly. Maps are posted on the entry walls and you can place a pin on your place of origin. Visitors come from all over the world, as well as nationally. The pot roast was tender and flavorful with hand mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables, the Philly chicken sandwich and the hamburger were really large. They serve half a plateful of onion rings. Great "comfort food ". The price was very reasonable. It was the perfect place to eat on snowy nights.

Stopped in here for breakfast. Was greeted and seated right away. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered a meat lovers omelette which was delicious. I upgraded my flapjack to include chocolate chips. It was a sweet treat with my savory omelette. Will definitely be back!

First morning breakfast in Traverse City. We arrived shortly after 9 which was perfect as we were able to get seated immediately. Pretty large seating area spilt into two sides of the establishment. My favorite was the fireplace at the entrance. Or server was on top of everything, kept drinks full, and had great menu recommendations. I had the western omlette with black cherry pancakes. The omlette was a nice mixture of ham, onion and peppers with cheese. It was nice and fluffy too! Black cherry pancakes were amazing. No syrup needed.

Local place with lots of character. Pretty busy for a Thursday but we don't wait too long for a table. Menu is basic breakfast fair with omelettes, French toast and other stuff. Server was efficient and had our water and coffee Western omelette was really tasty. Very fresh and ham was delicious Debbie had the Hash brown casserole. No eggs. Tasty. Sold spot for some fresh home cooking

A very basic breakfast spot. Nothing fancy, just your usual eggs, toast, and coffee. It's the kind of place you go when you just need a simple, no-frills start to your day. Very pretty hydrangea bushes out front, service was good sat us got what we needed thankful to get a booth

Nice family restaurant in Traverse City. We ate here twice during a five day stay. Solid food, convenient hours and friendly staff. We had breakfast and lunch. I enjoyed the Perch Reuben and the Up North Living salad. Both tasty and quickly prepared. An east choice for a simple meal. The place is popular so call ahead.

Saw that they have all you can eat Perch and Liver and Onions. at a reasonable price. We were seated promptly and were informed that all menu items are available all day. I asked Shane, our server about the Perch Lunch Basket l. He said it was 3 pieces of Perch with the Fries and Slaw and it was a good portion. He was right. Our food came out promptly and the portions are generous. The liver is melt in your mouth tender and the mashed potatoes are house made. Delicious. The three good sized Perch filets were accompanied by a large portion of house cut fries and tasty tartar sauce, also house made. A great place to dine on comfort food and enjoy great service.

All you can eat fish with sweet potato fries.

I guess I was hungry because I ate before I took a picture of my dinner. Here's my husband's second helping of fish; and he still has more than half of his fries left. Food is fantastic! Yes, all the fish you care to eat all day every day! Try the baked sweet potato as it too is delicious. And they brought a hot baked cinnamon roll along with our meal. Our server got everything right, including bringing the extra napkins right off the get go and bringing the food out quickly. I think we may return tomorrow morning for breakfast

The 1/2 pound burger is topped with Fried Cheese, Fresh Jalapeño, Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Haystack Onions, Bourbon BBQ Sauce. The burger was very good with a few caveats. The pulled pork is very average and doesn't add anything to the burger. The fried cheese was very good and did add to thd burger. The bourbon bbq sauce was meh and didn't add much. However the meat itself is excellent and I think a plainer burger would have been better. The fries that came with the burger were very good. I also ordered a Chocolate Shake and it was fantastic. the service was very good and everyone was very friendly. Overall a solid 4 star review. Would I return? Absolutely. Definitely for the shakes and I very much believe a simpler burger would have been better.

The slight cherry tang invthe bbq sauce created a very appetizing taste. The wings were cooked perfectly and I highly enjoyed them. I ordered the Pork Chop dinner ($29). This is a local michigan-raised pork with a cherry apple chutney. The pork chop was excellent and the cherry apple chutney was a great addition. It came with mashed potatoes and a cucumber corn medley. They both were very good. North Peak Brewing makes their own Root Beer. Honestly that why I chose to come here. Thankfully the Root Beer was excellent. The service was friendly, but not very efficient. I think they are short staffed because the bar tender was also my waiter and he was busy bartendering! Overall I still rate this a 5 star review. The Wings, Pork Chop, and Root Beer were all excellent and I would return for any of them. So yes I would Return.

I haven't been here for years, and was so happy to see that the menu still had my favorite Monte Cristo and beer cheese soup! Prices are high because it's Traverse City, so that doesn't bother me and you get the soup for 5 bucks when you add it to a meal! Nice! We started with the calamari - small portion, but it was hot and fresh and plenty for 2 people to share. I also had a small house salad, and added white cheddar for $1 (that was a good suggestion from our server Kylie!). The pesto ranch was great too. I love their main IPA, they do a great job, and it is always on the menu (versus seasonal). I love how this place is laid out, there are lots of wooden booths that feel quiet and private. The only reason for taking off a star is the parking. It's incredible that for a large restaurant, they share a small lot with multiple businesses. Everything else is great and you will appreciate the consistency and the spaciousness of this restaurant!

When we ordered, the bartender didn't drink which made it hard to know what certain beers taste like, but honestly, no judgement because he did the right thing and offered tastes of beer which was awesome and helpful! So service wise I would say great! The beer tasted really good as well and was decently priced. They had a bourbon barrel stout which was pretty good and newly released. The biggest issue we had was with the food. I ordered the spam sandwich with chips and my wife ordered the chicken quesadilla. While the food was cheap, the quality of the food also seems that way too based off what we ordered. The spam sandwich was supposed to be teriyaki flavored, and didn't get any of that. There wasn't a lot of thousand island dressing on it too, which made the sandwich dry. The chips that were served were clearly out of a bag as they were cold, which made it seem like I could have just gotten a bag myself. I would have paid a few dollars extra to get something fresh like fries. While spam comes from a can and I know this, my wife's chicken quesadilla had chicken that was clearly from a can - it was sopping wet, and the meat was very chunky, and very salty. This made us worry the rest of the food may not be very fresh. While we did have that experience, I will say the pretzel bites were really good and did seem fresh, and they were sourdough! So that was nice. I think this place has very good beer, and a really cool bar setup with a nice stage, arcade machines, and much more. However, I wouldn't come back here for lunch. Instead, I would make food at home. I would highly recommend more fresher options, and I would pay a little more for better quality food.
