Kind of on the end of Front Street, but arguably one of the best places to get breakfast in Traverse City. They give you a buzzer for the wait that has a decent distance for you to leave and come back. Also, they are strict on outside drinks. Our coffees were confiscated and put into a fridge and given back to us after the meal which was odd. Food was fire though. The Eggs Jenni and the Sweet and spicy chicken / jalapeño cornbread waffle with homemade cinnamon butter was insane. Not dry at all and the cornbread in waffle format was unique. Cool vibe, walkable on Front Street, and very solid. Will be back without an outside coffee. read more

First things first. They won't seat you until your entire party is on site, inside the restaurant. Parking could be tricky. The menu offering is plentiful. Good luck deciding what to eat. Both of our meals were very tasty and could easily be shared. We had a lot of leftovers. It took a long time for food to arrive, so be sure to come with someone you enjoy having conversations with. To the owners, I would like you to know that we have been to your restaurant 4x now and each time the food was excellent and consistent, we will be back. The bartender Curtis is on fire each and every time we are there. I hope you are paying him what he is worth. He works his a$# off and you would be in a world of hurt if you ever lost him. I had the Carolina it was good but I wouldn't get it again. Unless I got a different meat, pretty sure that was what made the bottom soggy as heck (see my picture). The egg was also too thick (see picture) definitely should have been half the egg that was there. But the jam was AMAZING!!! They should sell it!!! Tatter tots were tatter tots lol. We were within walking distance from where we were staying and said we have to try Sisters. Menu looked great and it did not disappoint. Old school diner vibe with awesome service. I went with the number 17 which is a skillet with a side of sourdough and a homemade jam and applesauce too. Portions are huge and I barely finished mine. Our meal here was one of the best our whole trip! We had a very short wait and visited the courtyard to the rear of the restaurant for a selection of drinks and enjoyed classic mimosas while we waited. Once seated inside we started with another round of refreshing mimosas including the Princess mimosa, Meet at the peach Pit and one night in Paris all of which we loved. For starters we ordered That's My Jam-fried goat cheese topped with wild berry jam and it was tasty and a side order of praline bacon and after one bite we immediately ordered more bacon because it was so amazing! Our group tried the Charlotte sandwich (which has Monte Cristo vibes), Eggs Benny and the Big Cheesy burrito. The restaurant does close at 2pm! The place is cozy & the server was super kind. The portions were large to match the item prices. Everything was scratch made, and very delicious. We started with the breakfast poutine, which was a special. Wow! Very flavorful & different. I opted for the ever famous crunchy crispy French toast. We randomly walked past this place one morning and ended up eating breakfast there the next 2 days. We really enjoyed it... and everyone enjoyed their dole whip mimosa! We timed it right and managed to beat the rush that trickled in after we arrived. We had a variety of things over the 2 breakfast sessions... mimosa, espresso martini, spicy chicken and waffles, avocado toast, breakfast burrito and more. A friend and I happened to find Sisters by chance earlier this week. Our lunch was outstanding and the service very good. We both had the vegetarian Benedict with salad. My experience was so positive I went back a few days later with my husband. Even though they were busy, we did not have to wait for a table or to be served. Same great experience with delicious choices of a tuna melt and a hummus and tomato toast, both with salad. Since we don't eat red meat, it would be nice if a choice of chicken or turkey sausage was available to go with some of the egg offerings. We'll be back soon! read more

Cute place for brunch. Loved the decor & environment. We were seated immediately which was great considering we were a party of 6. Our waitress was great. Very friendly & attentive. The menu had a lot of variety & interesting combinations. I think everyone got something different & enjoyed the food. Although, once we got our food, some of it was a little different than we understood from the description. Two of us got the mermaid toast. I read wrong. it was a spread and not just smoked salmon so I just figured it was my mistake. But then the other person ended up having a few bigger pieces of salmon in his and mine didn't seem to. So there was a little inconsistency. I also added an over easy egg which was a little overcooked. I did love the options for the choose your own adventure and would like to try some of the other combinations. The sister salad was perfect for brunch. I left feeling satisfied and not overly full and feeling like I made a healthier choice. I also got a coffee, thank you for having a non dairy option for creamer :) My husband got the sweet & spicy chicken & waffles and there was no spice or kick at all. He can't handle spicy food, so for him to say it's not spicy means no spice at all. BUT it did still taste good. Overall it was a good experience. My wife and I are most excited when a new breakfast place opens in the area. It took us a while to get to Sisters and are disappointed we didn't get there earlier. They have a robust menu with several options that caught our eye - I settled on the Spicy Burrito and she had the #17, a more traditional plate. The burrito was packed with eggs and covered with a yummy cheese sauce. She was impressed with how perfect her over-easy eggs were. Our waitress was great, prompt and friendly. The vibe was awesome, a throwback to the 60s with cartoons playing on a corner TV. We are definitely heading back! read more

Another great breakfast spot in Traverse City! It's 50s themed music and decor was fun and entertaining - I especially enjoyed the milk glass vases on the table. My hubby had corned beef hash and I had garden eggs with greens. Both were fantastic. The vinaigrette was perfect with just a hint of sweetness. The service was great as well. We loved it! Fantastic renovation converting what once was a party store into a charming vibe with mid century modern wallpaper, booths that are beautifully covered & flanked by light wood. It looks like they used an architect and a designer to carve out an inviting space that is much wanted in traverse city. I do design work and I was taken by the entire space. Very well done! The food was great! We tried the crispy brioche french toast and the Number 17, both were tasty, large portions (which doesn't always translate to good taste, but they nailed it!) with the addition of cinnamon butter, strawberry preserves and a side of applesauce! We got there early as we had heard the lines get long and we were seated right away. Our food was served promptly. What are they missing? The obvious, a liquor license! But it sounds like it's coming. But that's going to drive up the wait even longer, so I'm not anxious for that add on. But really, I would've loved a cold brew. We ordered the orange juice (Natalie's), but had to go elsewhere to get our caffeine fix. There's no drink list yet so we didn't really know the options, but it looked like they had drip coffee. Hopefully they'll work on the drink offerings while they wait for a liquor license. The other fantastic breakfast place in town (s2s) doesn't have liquor and they have figured out the coffee drinks without adding an espresso machine, so I have faith that Sisters will get it done soon! When restaurants first open there are often quirks that eventually get worked out with time. Sisters is nailing it out of the gate. We were impressed by all of it. It's the place we never knew we needed but now we can't believe we're so lucky to have it in our town. Go. Be patient on the lines. read more

Very cute cafe with good vibes. Service very friendly and helpful. We both had a traditional breakfast eggs etc. The meal cam with tater tots which is kind of a midwestern staple. Tater tots were very so so underdone and not crispy on the exterior. Potato flavor was lacking. Bacon was requested crispy but was also undercooked. My meal cam with a has brown which I think was the previously mentioned tater tots makes and mixed with cheese and served in a ball. The cheese potatoes were different but they should stick with hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The highlight was the berry jam. The jam was wonderful with the toast. I haven't found a place in TC quite like this and the food is so unique. We sat down right as they opened on a Friday, so I cannot attest to wait/lines, but anything good is worth waiting for.
