I believe this place recently opened, but they seem to be having a smooth transition! We went around 11:30 or so, and there were plenty of open tables. I'm guessing most of their business occurs around breakfast as that's what the majority of the menu items are. Speaking of the menu, it is a little limited -- being only one page, but we were able to all find something we liked. Our waitress was very kind and answered all our questions. She kept us updated on when the food would be coming out, and she was happy to provide us with extra jams and such. I got the banana french toast, and it was amazing. It also really filled me up! I didn't have to add syrup or anything to it either. Very cute vibe here. I hope they keep expanding their menu!

This was the order of pancakes that we ordered. They were very good and slightly crispy on the outside, but not dry or burnt!

Absolutely amazing service! So glad they are here in elk rapids because this is the kind of business we love! They have a smaller inside seating with roughly 9 tables and 5 or so at a bar. The food came out quite fast which was around 20 minutes. We will definitely be back!!!

Take out blt was top notch. Thick bacon cooked JUST RIGHT

Delicious and welcome addition to elk rapids! Absolutely lovely staff, cozy environment, not too loud and the food is jazzed up classics that improve the overall dish not making it into something my meat and potatoes dad is scared to eat (this happens). The potatoes are the bomb, definitely in the top ten best breakfast side potatoes I've had. I've sat at a table, the counter and take out and they've been excellent each time with superior customer service. I expect they'll be slammed in the summer, so plan accordingly and don't be a jerk. I've seen this happen year after year at restaurants downtown TC, if you have a large group I'd call ahead and give them a heads up. Idk how they'll handle the summer but I'm already dreading it for them. Tailgate games, a tent with a coffee bar would go a long way to manage cranky tourists who don't know how to be respectful and expects everyone to operate on their timeline. *If you can't tell I've had Saturday brunch induced trauma after living next to Patisserie Amie and Towne Plaza and seeing people scream at servers and hosts like it's their fault the place seats like 50 people and you roll up with 8 adults and 4 kids and don't expect to wait. It's insane. Anyways rant over. This place is a delicious and woman owned! #girlBoss lol :)

We love this restaurant -- the food and wait staff are always excellent. Sometimes you have to wait for a table but it is worth the wait.

I had a wonderful first visit to Sugar to Salt and will definitely be back…read more I ordered the breakfast risotto with a side of the cast-iron cornbread. The risotto was outstanding--loaded with incredibly fresh vegetables, smoky tasso ham, creamy raclette cheese, and one of the best pestos I've ever tasted. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about risotto for breakfast, but it absolutely worked. The cast-iron cornbread was also excellent, especially the honey butter glaze and the whole kernels of corn throughout. The service was warm and friendly, even during a very busy brunch. This is definitely on the pricier side, but I felt the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the menu, and the care that went into every dish made it worth it. My only food-related criticism was that my poached egg was just slightly overcooked, but it was a very minor issue in an otherwise exceptional meal. My biggest suggestion for improvement would be the acoustics inside the dining room. When the restaurant is busy, the noise level becomes overwhelming and takes away from what is otherwise a fantastic dining experience. I ended up sitting outside, and the patio was peaceful and relaxing. I hope the owners consider adding some acoustic treatment because the food deserves an atmosphere that matches its quality. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying several other dishes on the menu.

Cafe Santé is quite literally my favorite brunch spot. I have been here more times than I can…read morecount, and somehow it never misses. The food is consistently incredible, the service is wonderful, and the atmosphere is one of my favorite parts....especially being right on the water in downtown Boyne City. It feels elevated without ever feeling stuffy, which makes it just as perfect for a casual breakfast as it is for a special brunch. The Vienna pancakes are AMAZING, the brunch menu has so many great options, and I genuinely have a hard time convincing myself to order something different because I already have so many favorites. This is one of those restaurants I recommend without hesitation anytime someone asks me where to eat in Boyne City. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

I'll be honest I've never had a Chicken Marsala before (NOT Masala if you missed that "r" in there too). It turned out to be an interesting one for me. Good balance of sweet and sour against the creaminess and the earthy fragrance of the mushrooms. The chicken breast was very tender. The broccoli, though, was tough to chew, and the fettuccine was a bit bland for my taste. I wish the pasta had caught more of the sauce. The Sweet & Spicy pizza was the highlight. Our server told us the wood-fired pizzas are their biggest hit, and I see why. Every bite brought a different note of heat and sweetness. Highly recommend. We also had the Sangria Blanc and the escargot, neither of which was very memorable. The escargot didn't taste like much beyond garlic butter, though that butter turned out to be a great excuse to work through the free bread.
