Piperade omelette with added heirloom tomatoes
Jessica M.

When I say this place is small., it's an understatement. It's tiny, only expanded during the summer months when it's nice enough to occupy one of the few tables outside. BUT with that being said, it's one of the mdot delicious and underrated spots in traverse city- especially for breakfast. I came early during off season, and was lucky enough to snag a table. I ordered the piperade omelette, and added some heirloom tomatoes. When I tell you this was hands down one of the most delicious- and well executed omelettes I've ever had in my life. Fresh ingredients, soft eggs. Just exactly what you want for breakfast. I also got some of the house made biscuits and jam to take with me.. and dear lord, good thing I only got 1 order. I probably would of ate multiple- by myself. Romos pro tip: if waiting isn't your strong suit, order a togo and walk across the parking lot to the beach overlooking the bay. Makes a perfect way to start your morning!

This is the cutest atmosphere! The garden seating is so quaint and adorable. The server was friendly, the food was tasty.

Italian Omelette

Charming joint tucked away on a side street, just a block from the bay. Interesting, carefully composed dishes for adventurous folk like me. Solid standards for non-adventurous folks like my wife. Elise was amazing. Friendly and knowledgeable about the cuisine. I ordered the Italian omelette, which was perfectly cooked and fluffy. The side of toasted French bread and raspberry jam was heavenly. I will be back to explore the rest of the menu.

Amazing pastrami, fish tacos, and omelets. Don't miss it, if you're in Traverse City.

The vibe here is cool though, feels like you're eating in someone's house. Someone who somehow…read morestumbled upon a consistent flow of customers to feed, and they are just making it by as best they can. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't seem like the people running this place are corporate suites with an inclination to squeeze pennies out of everything. It's as if they genuinely want to feed you and put a smile on your face. If I'm being honest about the food...it was meh. The waitress, bless her heart, told me that I came in right after a huge rush. To me it seemed like the waitress was a bit upset about having to deal with the rush, even though she said they were lucky to have the patronage and she wasn't complaining, she was clearly complaining? Or maybe she was preparing me for what was to come? The bacon was two different kinds of cook times, a couple pieces were completely burnt and a couple pieces were still floppy. The hash browns had been on the griddle for at least an hour. The eggs were cooked well enough but had too much butter in them. Toast had too much butter too. Look, I like butter, I really do, but let me put it on my perfectly toast sourdough. To be fair, when I pulled into the driveway I saw something that reminded me of rehab in my 20s: a man standing in the snowy parking lot, black T-shirt with black mittens on, coffee cup in one hand and cigarette in the other. He was chugging the coffee and sucking down the cigarette like it was his last few minutes on earth. It was truly impressive. He's the chef of the place. Perfect representation of this lovely little restaurant.

A small gem. The interior is a bit dated and worn but clean, so it feels like that comfy sweater…read moreyou like to wrap up in. Everything was made to order and had a yummy homemade taste. The cakey pancakes were delicious. The hash browns were thin and curly giving the meal a balancing crunch. The team was a bit understaffed so it may take a little time to get everything. The atmosphere is created by incredibly friendly service topped off with '90s grunge playing in the background; which earns the place an extra star in my book!

There were unusual choices too, which was interesting to see. The service was friendly and the food came out promptly. I went with the chimichurri omelette. It was made up of prime rib, hash browns, mozzarella cheese, and chimichurri sauce. I never saw this type before, so I wanted to give it a try. I also had a pancake instead of toast. The pancake was cooked a tad over, but it was alright. The omelet was large with plenty of meat incorporated. It was unique with the chimichurri sauce. It helped offset the lack of seasoning of the eggs. I also tried the Traverse city cherry salad which had turkey and cherry salad, pecans, dried cherries, Monterey Jack cheese, and tomatoes with a raspberry vinaigrette. This had a good flavor with the combination of raspberry vinaigrette and cherries, but there was way too much mayo or miracle whip in the turkey. Will I go back? Most likely.
