Great stop for lunch on our way to the lighthouse. Mostly pros, few cons. The food was excellent and they happily accommodated my request to turn a sandwich into a wrap, no problem. Super friendly and quick service. The building and complex are neat, nestled in a beautiful location. Although quite plain, the outdoor seating was nice and abundant with about half in the shade under the covered patio. My only quirk is they are really walking a fine line with being overpriced. My wrap was delicious... but was it a $19 wrap? No. And I was taken aback when I ordered a kombucha to-go that was over $9. I don't live nearby, but if I were a local, I certainly couldn't afford to be a regular here. Overall, nice place for a once in a while visit. read more

Finally a place to get coffee and espresso on Old Mission Peninsula. Mission Proper is tucked away just off Devil's Dive on Seven Hills Rd. There's a big bright space inside with plenty of room to sit and a lovely green space outside with ample seating. They also have a gourmet market with plenty of high-end grab and go treats. I haven't had a meal or a cocktail there yet but they have both. This is a new place and still evolving. It's lovely to have them on the peninsula. I can't wait to watch them grow. read more

Our food was excellent. Delish sandwiches and the best granola/yogurt bowl I've ever tasted. Greek yogurt, yummy granola, fresh blueberries, raspberries and a drizzle of honey!! And those crazy good English muffins!!! Excellent lattes and so many good desserts to choose from. read more

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat and coffee. Super cute layout inside and out. Affordable meal and drinks. Everything was super tasty! The bread was soft and chewy, the salad was the perfect amount, the drinks were refreshing and not sweetened, unless you asked. The outside area was our favorite and the little art gallery next door was a perk! The draft cocktails looked great too. Staff was attentive and friendly. What an amazing place!!! Kind of confusing with all the names- Seven Hills is the name of the building/community center. Then there's a bar (Old Mission Distilling) and cafe (Mission Proper) inside. This is a raving review for all 3. Adorable decor and outdoor space. Clean, friendly staff, delicious cocktails, and they serve my favorite 9 Bean Rows pastries. Beautiful interior and outdoor patio and green space. Kitchen is open from 5-8. There is a bar, coffee shop, and a little shop with premade foods and goodies. The service was fast and the employees were kind. Didn't try the food but the current menu was polish inspired plus a few regular menu items like salads and sandwiches. Probably better at night with live music, cocktails, and less children. read more

Great healthy food for adults and kids. You can eat outside in their beautiful garden, or inside. They have plenty of space. I had the Green Goddess Crunch Wrap and it was delicious & big....I could only eat 1/2. I also had an iced coffee that was excellent . The atmosphere is relaxing, and the staff are prompt and cheerful. The food and beverages are excellent.

The staff seems eager to please and the setting is very comfortable and pleasing with a nice outdoor seating area also. I do hope for a larger menu with more vegan offerings and consistency. Please keep your prices reasonable or I'll put you in the "overpriced tourist category" in the future! I'm happy to see more lunch and dinner offerings but only wish they were offered more than on weekends. I'd be here as a regular then! Keep it simple and fresh and affordable! read more

It is so great to have this community gathering spot on Old Mission Peninsula! With indoor and outdoor spaces, cocktails, coffee, breakfast and lunch....I have enjoyed them all. More staff was needed today as the crowd grew and service had to slow down. But it is a cheerful place, in a gorgeous spot, and people were enjoying themselves. The Peninsula has been my summer home for 46 years. Mission Proper is a lovely addition to this idyllic area! read more

My fiancé found this place online before our trip to Old Mission. Amazing coffee, cool vibes, great barista and service. Highly recommend if you're in need of good coffee / espresso or just want to have a cocktail in a cool spot without driving all the way down the peninsula to downtown TC.
