Cute place but the coffee was not to my taste. Tried the coffee on several occasions but very bitter, small portions and high price make this shop a very missable experience for coffee. Servers quite friendly but, it is, after all, about the coffee. read more

I stopped at Hive coffee shop this morning for a coffee, the website and door sign says open at 8:00am. I was there a little after 8 am. When I grabbed the door, it was locked and right as I did that someone had come around the corner looked at me and continue to walk on by. I thought I would treat myself to a coffee, I guess that won't be today. I live in Traverse City and happened to be out in Bay this morning. I wish I could've had a coffee. I guess I will go to Traverse City and get a coffee. I guess this coffee shop doesn't need my money or patronage. Please open your business on time. If you can't open at you designated times, you should post a sign on the door, adjust your hours and/or update your website. read more

Stopped by while shopping in town thinking I wanted a cold brew. I ended up with a delicious 'Solstice' which was a blueberry drink with matcha foam - where has this been all my life?? I love this place. Some of the best coffee I've had. Always stop in when I'm up north and their seasonal menu can't be beat! I tried their spiced maple matcha and also their harvester. Both were delicious and the latte art is just beautiful! The staff is so friendly and welcoming and they offer really yummy food from local farms and markets, and have dairy free options for the drinks! 10/10. I believe last time we were here Hive coffee was a Mundo's outpost. Not sure why it changed hands but I was glad to see a coffee shop was still in this location. The good news is they still use Mundos beans and the even better news is that they also make delicious beverages but with a bit more creativity than I recall from the previous iteration. This time of year I stick with all things iced and my go to was their orange vanilla latte on ice. It's not in the name but this beverage also has rosemary syrup and it's like a creamsicle with a bit of herbiness. Loved it. They also have now added waffles on a stick for a bit of a treat. They're in the shape of a honeycomb (keeping with the hive theme) and come either plain or topped with tasty add ons like cinnamon sugar or strawberries over lemon zested mascarpone. My biggest regret? I never got one of those waffles. Every time we came through I was just too full from a previous meal we had eaten. Next time I will for sure plan ahead though bc they look great! My only wish is that this spot had longer hours. Twice last week we tried to make it there only to find them closed. We can't be the only ones craving a coffee pick me up around 2pm on a weekday, right? Hopefully they extend this a bit because they're too good to for us to miss! read more

Very chill vibes, we got to Miel latte which was honey and cinnamon and it was delicious. The owner came over and said hello, asking how everything was. Very friendly! There are some outside and inside tables so everyone could find a place to sit. Great to support a local coffee shop in cute Sutton's Bay! read more
