Lived in Suttons bay for the last two winters and always wanted to try this bakery. Finally got a chance to bring some sweet home to my wife on Valentine's Day and must say we were both very disappointed. The cinnamon roll and pecan roll were definitely not made fresh and we're at least not one, but two days old as they were hard to cut through with a sharp knife! The two little cinnamon donuts were just fine and appeared fresh but the two others were nearly 5 dollars each and we're stale as a doorstop. Sorry to leave a Poor Review but it needed done because that is not what anyone would expect from a hometown bakery. read more

Absolutely the best cherry pie in the area. Unbelievably flaky crust and wonderful tart cherries. Also love the peach and blueberry. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. A wonderful local bakery. read more

Sweetest ladies making the tastiest desserts! They did not have the pie we wanted but had one waiting for us next day. Cookies are fantastic too!! read more

They are still keeping up the great pie making this year! Triple Berry and Cherry... YUM!

We asked in a business in town where to get a cherry pie. The gentleman told us to go to Chimoski Bakery, that they had the best cherry pie in the area. They have the best cherry pie I've had in a long time. read more

Their delicious cake donuts keep me coming back! I haven't tried other items yet, staff is always very friendly too. They are so fresh and delicious and have a very unique taste. Oh, and they only cost 80 cents. Check out the maple goodness @m22eats on Instagram read more

We purchased hundreds of rolls and donuts for our wedding and they were AMAZING. All of the donuts were incredible. All of our guests took at least 4 home and couldn't stop telling us how good they were. Many of us reheated them days after the wedding and they were still amazing. We are from out of town and they were helpful over the phone. All the deserts looked amazing and I am still dreaming about those sticky pecan rolls. Thank you SO MUCH! We almost went with a popular donut shop in TC but they wanted $3,000 for dry tasteless donuts. Chimoski was very well priced and wayyyy better than I could have imagined. read more

Such great baked goods! Donuts, cakes, cookies, pies, everything like homemade! Seasonal goods like pumpkin donuts and Christmas cookies! Coffee to go! Custom orders! read more

Go to barbs bakery in Northport. Simple as that. Owner at chimoski always seems like she's mad and doesn't want to be there.

Delicious cherry and cinnamon treats! Ladies who work there are so nice that they made stopping by for a cherry pie a fun experience.

We stopped in after getting our Christmas tree from Kolariks Christmas tree farm just before noon on a Saturday. Rookie parent move, we had promised our 2.5yr old a sprinkled donut however when we arrived the case had been wiped out by the busy morning rush. The sweet lady working overheard us talking and offered to make our son a fresh sprinkled donut. Her kindness and delicious donut made his day! Also highly recommend the pumpkin cream cheese muffin and lemon poppyseed muffin! Thank you Chimoski Bakery! read more

Excellent baked goods, our favorites are the blueberry donuts, twists, and donuts. Walking into the bakery is a joy, happy and helpful staff and the warm aroma of all those incredible , fresh baked goods is the best! read more

It's about time someone left a more recent review of Chimoski Bakery and my crew is happy to do it. This was one of our standbys for the past few years of visiting Sutton's Bay. We were devastated to learn the owners of Chimoski's former location next to the Sutton's Bay post office opted to retire their lease early and effectively move them out ASAP. As my kids put it 'how could you kick out a bunch of little old ladies?!' But fortunately Chimoski found a new home just north of Sutton's Bay off of M22 and it suits them well. We love Chimoski's lemon-filled donuts, bran muffins, creme-filled long johns and pies. Everything here gives off the essence of being homemade with love and from such a sweet + kind staff of bakers too. We have never had a poor experience in all our years of patroning Chimoski. Bonus is their day-old tray of goodies available for 50 cents apiece. Sure 9 Bean Rows is just down 204 for other options but as much as we love Rows, nothing makes us feel more at home in Sutton's as walking in the front door at Chimoski. read more

I love this bakery! The people are nice, but most importantly ---They have the best cherry pie in the world!!! I look forward to it all winter. My husband bought me 4 to put in the freezer and hopefully last until fall. BTW, they freeze beautifully. read more

The first of several bakeries we hit in an afternoon quest for some good pastries. Alas, also the worst. The cherry turnover didn't have a good filling or a good shell. The pecan bun was a little one-note sticky-sweet, but still decent and worth eating. The cinnamon roll wasn't as good as the pecan bun. Sutton's Bay is kind of a one-bakery town, but if you don't want to drive any further stick to the pecan bun or get something from the case at 9 Bean Rows instead. read more

A must visit if you are in the Sutton Bay Area!! We stopped by twice during our few days here. Delicious cake donuts, muffins, cookies, sausage and cheddar breakfast biscuits, cherry pie. And that's what we had a chance to sample. There's so much more. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Only caveat, don't go too late or your selection will be fewer. Words out that this is the bakery to go to! read more

We ordered donuts for my daughters wedding . They were delicious and they had them all ready when they said they would. They were still warm when we got them. The cherry almond roll and sticky pecan roll s were the best! read more

The pizza roll and apricot bar I had today were very good, as was the coffee. The location is just a touch inconvenient from downtown SB, but not too bad and worth the walk or bike ride. read more

We visited this bakery with my parents during Labor Day weekend after reading multiple rave reviews. The pastries and the friendly workers did not disappoint! We would return. read more

Mmmmm great! This is a great addition to Suttons Bay. Tasty donuts, reasonable prices, friendly family running it. They make a great plain cake donut, moist, not too sweet, perfect with coffee. Oh, and they take credit cards now. So don't be afraid. Go in, get a tasty treat, and pay with your plastic. read more

We normally love to come here for donuts. Today we grabbed a pie for a small dinner party. Only one person ate the pie, the other 5 declared it not worth eating. Major disappointment from a well-loved bakery! We will still go back - but personally won't be ordering pie again. read more

One of the best donut and breakfast bakeries I've ever been in, love the taste of everything they make!

If you order a special bd cake do not expect it to be done the way you want. Ordered one a year ago and was told by a very helpful lady that they could do exactly what I needed like a fresh strawberry filling with a picture that I brought in to be imposed on cake. Called the morning to pick up because my husband's bd was next day and was told it was ready. Went in and was told they could not do what I had asked. Very disappointed! Had to make other cake arrangements for my husband bd which was the next day! Would never recommend to anyone! Come to MI every year since I am a Michigander. Now we go to Petoskey where they have reliable bakeries. read more

A hidden gem! You have to got around corner from a diner and past a candy store, but worth it. All local and homemade, got the sausage and cheddar buscuit (wish I had gotten two) and some donuts. Gorgeous! The coffe is quite tasty...I don't really like places where it's in a carafe, but it's some really good blend and was not and fresh. They should leave out milk....they aren't a place that should have the plastic containers of creamer. But they will get you milk. Cute, nice, local, tasty. read more

Really delicious pastries. The bakery has a cute outdoor patio with some seating. The cashier was very helpful.

Wonderful baked goods at reasonable prices served up by friendly staff. What more could you ask for in a bakery? Love their donuts, muffins, pies, and cookies. read more

Came close to walking out and leaving my order behind. Clerk had a little sheet of wax paper in her hand but managed to touch all pastries with her bare hand. Get the staff plaster gloves please. She also collected my cash payment. So not sanitary. read more

I had a pumpkin muffin from here recently. It was mega-delicious. Fyi, they do not take credit cards. Lucky for me the muffin cost 1.50, which I managed to dig out of my purse. The doughnuts looked delicious, but I refrained. I may indulge another day. They have day old items, but they are sold in bulk. Friendly place, not much in the way of seating, like none, nice and warm because of the ovens. read more

OK, the baked goods are still sub-par. The good news, though, is that the peaches are FANTASTIC! The owners have a fruit farm out on Stony Point and they sell some of their produce in the bakery. With the devastating spring we had in northern Michigan, all the fruit harvests are way down, including peaches. That limited supply translates into much higher prices than in "normal" years, but these peaches are well worth it. Nothing like fresh local fruit picked that morning, bursting with flavor and sweet as candy. Yum!!!! read more

We have been coming here all summer and are long overdue for a review. The cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are fantastic. Our summer guests all beg for them for breakfast and and early morning Chimoski runs happen often. The pies are excellent! I love the cherry pie particularly. I am not a huge pie fan and almost always leave the rim of crust. Not on this one! It is loaded with yummy tart cherries and the crust is excellent. The raised donuts are fresh and tasty. The staff is friendly and fun to talk to. The place has a happy vibe. read more

Awesome small town bakery, in my humble opinion, the type that you cannot find in a city. Delicious sweet rolls, donuts, and muffins. The sticky buns, cherry muffins and cinnamon streusel muffins are family favorites and the cherry pie is the perfect fit for dessert, if you can wait. The baked goods are superb and the service compliments the food perfectly. Really sincere and kind people working behind the counter. I love this place. read more

I am from California and I needed a cake for my Son's Wedding in Suttons Bay. They made the best 10-inch, two-layer Banana Cake with Cream Cheese frosting. It was beautiful and served well over 36 pieces. And, the Staff was wonderful. I highly recommend this Bakery. read more
