Grabbed sandwiches for takeout - delicious! We'll definitely be doing that again. This time we had the Market Philly & the Clevelander. Each came piping hot with a bag of chips and a pickle spear. We grabbed a classic bottle of Rock & Rye and a soda from the cooler took our food to go. The staff were friendly and brought out our sandwiches when they were ready. They have a nice bar area and indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor area where we hung out after ordering. The pizza looks excellent - we'll be back to try that soon, too! read more

Hands down best sandwiches and pizza in northwestern Michigan. I could honestly eat any of their sandwiches everyday without getting sick of it. This place is a hidden gem. They roast their own turkey, ham and corned beef, all their sauces are homemade and fresh pizza toppings. The service is always amazing, the staff is so friendly and always willing to crack jokes with customers. For how small it is, they pack a ton of people in without service going downhill. We stopped here to eat after a day of biking the Tart trail. We came in at 7:20 and while it was the end of the day the gals working were friendly helpful and efficient. We were driving do Empire from our rental place on Lake Leelanau and I saw the sign for Market 22 as we drove by. Curious, I pulled up their Yelp page and immediately my mouth was watering! Even though I had just eaten lunch! The pizza, the sandwiches...everything looked amazing. I bookmarked it for a future visit. A few days later we were trying to think of a place with easy to-go sandwiches for a picnic up at Sleeping Bear and, after a few places were a bust, I remembered Market 22. What stuck out in my head were the pizzas but I did recall some sandwiches so we pulled up the menu. "Perfect!" we all agreed and rolled over there. Because of the pandemic everything is outside, which is great. Ordering, seating (under a tent), etc. The staff taking our orders were SO friendly and chatty, giving us the lay of the land and helping us choose what to order. I got the avocado BLT, my husband had the veggie reuben, and the rest of our party ordered a variety of sandwiches and salads. Everything was incredible. I LOVED my BLTA and not a crumb was left of my husband's reuben. We also got a few cans of beers and some local Tandem Cider. It made for the most enjoyable picnic just before sunset. Next time the pizza is definitely on the agenda but I'd be more than happy to come back just for the sandwiches! read more

I would give no stars if I could. If you all are going to stop making pizzas 1.5 hours before you close then you should put that on your website. We wasted a 1/2 hour drive to be turned away when attempting to order a pizza. WTH? Will never be back again. This was the find of my Month- Went for breakfast after hiking with friends- it was outstanding. Rarely do i go to an establishment where its all together, but this morning we visited and it was the best breakfast I've had in long time. I got talked out of a "Skinny" Stack of pancakes downsized to a "1 cake Sampler" to go with my Denver omelette by a Spunky waitress- She actually saved my life.... as the pancake was the best i have in Northern Michigan, and I would have finished off the stack....With my Omelet i requested the cinnamon sugar bread as my toast, delicious. Lots of history here, and they also sell pizza that i was told fantastic by a couple of locals. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Go here you wont be disappointed. Seriously, have a meal here.... We absolutely love the area!!! But we had a really hard time finding even a kind of decent restaurant. Everything was fueled by tourist foot traffic, and the reviews were super unreliable. We found Market 22 while passing by. We turned around and had a great lunch!!! My girls got really good sandwiches, I had a regular pizza, and my husband had their award winning Reuben Pizza. I wish I could remember ours server's name. She was obviously a wonderful person. Everything she said was genuine and kind. Within 45 seconds, my husband quietly said, "I really like her vibe!" We don't use the word vibe. But she really did have good vibes! She was just the best. Cute girl, maybe 20 years old, with dreads. Like, I wanna be friends with her. Back to the food. The sandwiches were stupid, like out of this world, stupid good! My husband loved his Rueben Pizza! Can't place a to go order; second issue in two weeks and no one will answer the phone and/or even the ability to be placed on hold. Just a shame and they have great food but cannot manage their business to ensure locals and tourists alike can place their orders. A full purchase price gift card was close to expiring and they are happy to keep any unspent funds. My family has been eating here, both dine in and carry out, since they opened. We love the food, but if you ask for a plain meat and cheese sandwich, they will tell you it's not possible during the summer when they are busy. Dare I say better than Buddy's and Jet's pizza. The Detroit style pizza here is absolutely incredible and the cheese breadsticks. We ordered the D-Town Deluxe and it was outstanding. The ranch was excellent as well as others have mentioned and should have asked for a couple more. The only reason for 4 stars is that we called 15 times and it would not ring and an automated message just said they were busy and to call back. We ended up driving there to order in person at the window where the service girls were very nice and friendly. I know they were really busy, but still would be nice to either add an online ordering option or text option rather than just not accepting phone calls. Must try when you're in the Glen Arbor/Leland area! We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday and absolutely loved it. The croissant sandwiches are so so good and when you sit at the bar you get a slim view of the kitchen while they prep the food. The bartenders were fun and clearly really loved their jobs. They went above and beyond taking care of us and making the drinks. Lindsey was an incredible bar tender and server! When we come back to the area, we will be coming back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to try everything market 22 has to offer! read more

Great food always at this wonderful restaurant with variable hours and days that it's open, so make sure it's open before you go. Very friendly staff that take great care of you. This place was incredible. We visited the area in February which is definitely slow season, but the service, food and overall experience were great. When we walked in we were greeted promptly and guided over to where we could order. We were given recommendations and assistance. We ordered pizza to go (AMAZING), a grilled cheese and a chili cheese do. All the food was really, really good BUT the pizza was incredible. Definitely coming back when we're in the area. read more
