My wife and I visited this cute little ice cream cafe in the cool, quiet & beautiful Empire, MI for the first time yesterday. The location was excellent on the main road leading off of M22 right into the town center near the Empire Beach, on the left-hand side of the road. The outside of the ice cream shop was colorfully painted and decorated, had adequate, free parking on the street, the inside of the shop was bright, interestingly decorated, highlighted many delicious flavors of ice cream behind glass-enclosed counters, were greeted by the friendly shop employees, friendly, efficient service, the dining room had a good amount of comfortable seating including some outside, our ice cream was delicious and reasonably priced (but only accepted CASH!), and had fans running to make it bearable in the summer heat. read more

I've been coming here since I was 7 years old. It's the exact same, and I LOVE it. Please never change your style!! The service is always amazing. It's the best place for ice cream and food. Highly recommend Tiffany's. read more

Mmm, stroopwafel. Love those things. Coffee drink was good, too. Servers- so friendly. Nice lil mix of indoor and outdoor seating available. I am not sure if this business is year round or seasonal. Definitely stop by if they are open while you are in town. read more

So quaint and welcoming with the turquoise and fish decor. We had " homemade" ice cream sandwiches and freshly made strop waffles. Sinful indeed! Staff so friendly and sitting at the old fountain bar very nostalgic. Definitely my favorite place for ice cream. read more

Cute little cash only ice cream and small meal store. No soft serve here, but there's some flavors of ice cream (not too many) that is locally made. Strawberry was delicious, and the [gluten free] lemon cheesecake was great. There was also a vegan option for ice cream. Inside and outside seating both with cute decor. read more

How do you have a "restaurant" and not have a bathroom The help needs customer service training as the cashier or the cook were not the least bit friendly. Sad because it is the perfect little shop to engage customers The shawarma wrap was not good. The chicken cherry wrap was tasty. One win! read more

This cafe seems to be a small and cozy ma and pa type of shop. When you go in, there are two different counter areas. I was a bit confused at first as to where I order the sandwiches. I realized the menu for food was to the right and you order at the window. After ordering, you then walk to the left to pay at the register. There you can order drinks, sweets, and icecream. The shop interior is really small and cute. The food was pretty good. It is very homemade tasting. There is parking on the tight street outside, but be careful because people seem to drive fast. As I was walking across the street, one guy flew out of his parking spot and almost hit me. It can be hard to manuever around because of the small street. The employees are friendly though. read more

This is a great little stop in the heart of Empire for a quick afternoon bite or some homemade ice cream. The service was friendly and the food was tasty. When we walked in, there was just one family ahead of us but the place filled up fast! Apparently a great spot for locals who were out and about. read more

The sandwiches here have really gone down hill. For $11, I got the Chix Philly which was a small ciabatta sandwich with pieces of chicken, melted cheese, and a few slivers of green pepper. It was so small I wondered where the rest of the sandwich went. The menu is by the pickup window so if you have any questions you get scolded to go to the other side of the store where the cashier is. If you want us to order by the cashier, why don't you put the menu there?! read more

We stopped in Tiffany's for an ice cream break and loved the prices, the service, and the charm of this cute little joint. Be warned, it's cash only and there is just a porta-potty out back for facilities, but that should not deter your visit. My hype crew was digging the Superscoop flavor ice cream and you will too. read more

Stopped here for an ice cream and it was the highlight of our day. Handmade waffle cones, great hard ice cream, and a huge variety of flavors. They also have soft serve and milkshakes. If you want lunch, I recommend the chicken shawarma. It was fresh and handmade right there. Tiffany's has seating inside and outside, but the outdoor stuff can get a bit hot late in the afternoon. Overall, it's a great little family owned place to stop and have a break from shopping. read more

Excellent ice cream and great service. If anything you need to come in and read the handwritten signs they have everywhere. Larry the lamp, Timmy the telephone. Seems like a place where the employees enjoy themselves read more

The older woman behind the counter had a surgical mask with vertical cuts on both sides of the mask to allow air in. Why even wear a mask?!? Had I read a few yelp reviews ahead of time I would have skipped this place completely. Unfortunately found out too late. This woman was in charge of sandwiches and ice cream. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

We were driving around town when we passed this little cafe. We walked in and when I saw the cute blue stools, I was sold! Simple menu with salads and sandwiches, plus there is an espresso and ice cream bar. The essentials. If you're in town it's worth the stop! read more

We didn't stop for much but ended up have the stroopwafels and a couple of types of cookies. The stroopwafels were good and didn't last long as we walked back to the miserable hotel. The cookies were good, too. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. She was all smiles. The young lady making the stroopwafels was pleasant and smiling. Friendly atmosphere. Too bad we didn't have time to stop in the morning for more stroopwafels. read more

Service was slow and sandwich window staff had an edge / were sort of rude. NO BATHROOM- was directed to the "porta pot in the alley." Atmosphere was a little chaotic but place still had a bit of charm. Service - 2 Amenities - 1 Food - 3 read more

Excellent stop for ice cream - the scent of freshly made waffle cones fill the air as you make your selection of ice cream flavors (12+) from single to triple dips! Love this place! Friendly peeps, tasty ice cream, and fresh made wafflecones and something called stroopwaffles... which is caramel sandwiches between two fresh waffles .. and is wonderful. We had the pleasure to visit Tiffany's and to meet Tina, half of the new ownership couple, during a trip to Sleeping Bear in October. I'm delighted to say that the shop hasn't lost an ounce of its charm. The ice cream was delish (as always!), the service was friendly and attentive, and Tina and her family are doing a great job of providing a safe environment during this Winter of COVID. It's wonderful that they've extended their hours into the fall, a great bonus for those of us who love to come north during the colder weather to enjoy the leaves and the quiet. Cheers to Peggy and family for many years of great memories at Tiffany's. We wish you well in your adventures ahead! read more

Great find on Yelp. Joes is next door but their food is not as fresh. Simple menu for all types, my brother is a vegetarian and he lived his wrap. I had the Caesar Wrap, can't beat local fresh ingredients. Most people were coming for the ice cream. I got a shake, so good. If you want a fresh place with a chill vibe to feed your family of five after jumping dunes. This is the place to go. read more

Great chocolate malts, friendly service, and they're even open occasionally during shoulder season. We stopped in at the end of September --- most of the Sleeping Bear Dunes area shuts down on Labor Day, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this place open (and the owner told us they usually wouldn't be, at that time of year). The chocolate malt (with chocolate ice cream) was creamy rather than chalky, had a good solid malt flavor, and the chocolate ice cream made a great base. The iced coffee (regular drip poured into a cup of ice) worked quite well, and the owner was happy to brew a fresh pot for the next customer after I finished off the last one. Tiffany's (the ice-cream-and-coffee side of things) shares a building and tables with the Little Finger Eatery, which was closed when we visited --- maybe next time. read more

With a rotating selection of hand dipped Moomer's ice cream, where can you go wrong here? The small cones are huge. Two giant scoops of whatever you'd like. I picked Butter Pecan (with WHOLE pecans) and Strawberry Cheesecake. My husband ordered up the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Peanut Butter Swirl (with massive chunks of pb cups). Delectable, melty heaven. Under $3 for a small (enormous) cone. The Connecticut woman in front of us couldn't get over the size. "I'll never be able to eat this! I need a cup! Marnie, you have to help me eat this! Oh, my word!" Uh, yeah. I had no problems polishing off my cone. But I'm a Midwesterner. read more

13 happy customers ranging from 3 to 75 years old just left this great spot. Grilled sandwiches, vegetarian and meat choices, espresso drinks, ice cream and a PB &J for the youngest filled us all up after a trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Lovely gift shop across the street. Very charming (and tiny) town. read more

Terrible coffee and over priced too. Payed 4.50 for a caramel latte and it was so watered down, the girl didn't even know how to make the coffee. It is literally a cafe and says "coffee and ice cream" yet they do not know how to make coffee. Also did not use gloves or take proper precautions. read more

Not 100% sure this is the best ice cream in the whole world or I just think it is because we always go there after being baked hiking sleeping bear dunes, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt 'cause we all just love going there. The neighborhood with a sports shop across the street and eclectic yard decor just adds to the charm. read more

What a change from previous years. The ice cream cone was overpriced and so small, I thought I had a kiddie cone. (There was a hole on the side of the cone, as well). We are locals who won't be buying ice cream there again. read more

Stopped in here for lunch on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes--what a great spot! The menu offered nice options--interesting but not overly gourmet, and I had trouble deciding what to order! I picked the Caesar chicken salad wrap, and it was delicious. My companions had the grilled cheese (she loved it) and the pesto tomato sandwich (rated very good!). The store itself is welcoming with a warm and friendly vibe. Prices were very fair, staff was friendly and helpful and the location was beautiful. In front of the store they have a couple of Michigan-shaped Adirondack chairs, very cute! We sat on the small but very pretty patio so the dog could join us. The patio is next to a nursery, so we had views of their flowers plus the Empire street. We loved this place so much that we made a special trip back after the park to get ice ice cones! read more

The homemade shakes were amazing! You can pick from the flavors in the cooler or just stick with the traditional flavors. It is a cash only establishment. I didn't pay attention to where the closest ATM was. Just be aware that you'll need cash here. read more

I've been to Tiffany's before and the remodel they did is absolutely amazing. I was also pleasantly surprised at the addition of Little Finger Eatery. I couldn't wait to try their food. I got the pesto caprese panini and my wife got the Empire salad. Bother were delicious (I'm not going to lie, I ate some of hers when she wasn't looking). After we ate, we each grabbed some ice cream and walked the couple of blocks to the beach to watch the sun set. If you're in the area I highly recommend it for a meal, ice cream, or both. read more

I dream of Empire. Not only do i dream of the sunny, sandy coast, but i dream of the frozen licks of Mackinaw Island fudge after a hard day of flying kites and swimming at the beach. There's not much to this place. Usually a brace face ackward teenager serves up a monster waffle cone stuffed so high it defies gravity. The wood floor creaks with every step like an old hardware store and the air is thick with sugary sweetness. I'll sit outside to gawk at the collection of lawn gnomes that the neighbor has in the front yard and consider taking one on some photographic adventures. For some reason this is one of my favorite places in the world and anticipate going here as often as i can. If you know where empire is, i also suggest checking out the dunegrass music festival, super fun. cheers. read more
