Donuts!!!! Cake and yeast

What a gem! Get here early for lots of choices! They have very large donuts, hot coffee, and fruit pastries. Several tables inside to sit down, benches just outside the doors, and a very short (1 block) walk to sit by the water. Staff is friendly, the bakery is clean, and the location is perfect!

Donuts are good. Coffee not so great. The flavor was off and watered down it seemed. Prices are decent.

Barb's has the best homemade donuts! She makes her own ingredients and frosting. Nothing tastes or smells like canned fillings or cremes.

Best Bakery anywhere period. Cinnamon twists are amazing. I never have had better baked goods anywhere.

A must stop. The cinnamon twists are amazing but don't limit yourself there. Be sure to get there early! They sell out.

Barb's is this small town's center. Cake donuts, cash, and 'good mornings.' The donuts are really good too.

Absolutely the best bakery in the world! A small town treasure located in paradise. If Heaven was a bakery then I have arrived.

We went to Moomers on our trip to northern Michigan. Moomers is an ice cream place located on a…read morefarm west of Traverse City. The ice cream was rich and was nice potions. We had Cherries Moobilee. It had plenty of cherries, chunks of brownie, with a chocolate swirl. We had a small, but it was very generous. There were a variety of favors. I wish I had room for more. There were a few tables indoors and outdoor seating at picnic tables on a deck overlooking the farm. The service was quick, and workers were helpful. You may have to seek it out, but it is worth the effort. I would definitely recommend Moomers.

Good because the ice cream was fantastic but bad because we went every single day and I've never eaten so much ice cream in such a short period of time . Moomers is a local homemade ice cream spot next to their dairy farm a little off the beaten path. Their website lists all of their flavors (and there are many) but when you arrive there's a daily menu of what is available. Every flavor I tried was delicious and chock full of the goodies they add in. They highlight their Cherries Moobilee which is a black cherry ice cream with chocolate swirl a black cherries. They also have some sorbet options if you're non dairy and some unique sundaes on their menu as well. When you enter the store you immediately smell the homemade waffle cones and you're likely to see a line, maybe even out the door. But their service is friendly and efficient and they do a great job of moving people through fast! There's a few booths indoors to sit at but the patio is a real gem on a summer day with plenty of picnic tables and a view of the farm next door. Definitely stop in and give them a try! It was a highlight of our vacation!

We had a rental house around the corner and it delighted me to have a little dessert and snack shop nearby. It's a walk up window specializing in soft serve treats like cones, sundaes, flurries, shakes and malts. The ice cream is smooth and dreamy! I had the turtle sundae and it was divine! My mom went for a soft serve with strawberries and we were impressed that it was chunks of fresh strawberries, not a fake syrup. My husband went with an orange float and it was made with local Northwoods soda. It was all so good! They also have a menu of savory snacks like soft pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and sloppy joes. We kept talking about stopping by for a pretzel but it didn't work out so I can't speak much to their savory offerings, unfortunately. The stand itself is adjacent to the GT Butterfly House & Bug Zoo and, upon looking the place up online, I learned that Kettlewell's is the name of a groundbreaking moth researcher and that's the kind of nerdy trivia that I live for. Reopening May 1st so mark your calendars!

Part clothing, gear, and tourist shop, part ice cream parlor = 100% good stuff…read more I always love browsing here. They carry things you may need for a day at the beach, clothing from brands like North Face, Patagonia, Free People, etc. Plus local touristy gear like branded sweatshirts from local brands like M22, stickers, etc. The brands they carry aren't cheap but Leland is a pricier tourist town. The ice cream parlor serves Moomers ice cream which is some of the best ice cream out there. Here you can pick from one of 32 flavors to get on a cone, in a bowl, as a sundae, in a float, or a shake, etc. My go to flavors are usually Supermoo or Cherries Moo-boolie. The shop is one of the few in town that is not dog friendly inside (I'm guessing because of the ice cream counter) but it's ok because they also have a walk up window (for ice cream only) so anyone with a canine can still enjoy a nice scoop. It also has water and such out for your pups!

We stopped here to stretch our legs and walk the dog for a bit. It is a cute little town. This store was cute but pricey. We had kids so they all wanted ice cream. The staff was friendly and they had a cute little pup window to get us a pup cup for our husky. She loved it. My ice cream was delicious too.
