A small Ice cream shop on the outskirts of Charlevoix. They serve Ashby's Ice Cream and fast foods. I ordered a Gold Rush Ice Cream in a waffle cone. Gold Rush is Golden Vanilla and Chocolate Ice cream swirled with thick Caramel. It was very good. I also got a doggie cone, however it was just a small amount of vanilla soft serve in a lid/bowl. The person I was with ordered a Butter Pecan and thought it was very good. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, however we were there a few days before they closed for the season, so it'll have to wait. read more

I love Dairy Grille! The staff are all so helpful and sweet. It's my favorite summer restaurant to go to in CHX. My kids love their Mac and cheese bites, mini corn dogs and French fries. Me and my husband love the cheeseburger with olives and onion rings and fries mushrooms. And of course we all love the ice cream. It's cash only and there's always a line, but it doesn't deter us. This walk up road side stand south of town is great for a quick bite. They have the major things you would except with quality ingredients. And their fries are what make this review 5 stars. I had their made to order cheese burger with fresh fixings and a blackberry shake that had real blackberries. The ordering process was efficient orders in front up pick food in back. The only complaint I have is the menu is way overwhelming and such small print. Service was fast and friendly and if I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to try this place again especially another shake or their soft serve ice cream cones. read more

WOW! This place hits the spot! Amazing Service and food. I feel like this is more of a pick up your food and go not a sit and eat. Ice cream and burgers were great! COVID rules are good there. What a great find! We are driving cross country and are huge soft serve ice cream fans. We were driving by at 10:30 am before it was open. (Opens at 11 am.). We stopped to take a photo of the place and the owner came out to greet us. He actually opened and made us the best dipped soft serve ice cream cone we had since leaving the east coast. The experience was memorable. We are now in Montana and have not had a soft serve ice cream that comes close! read more

Went here on the recommendation of my Nephew who is stationed in Charlevoix, MI with the USCG. Super annoying that they only take cash. Otherwise service is meh. Ice cream and ingredients they use in it are of very poor quality. They put cosmic brownies in their "hot fudge brownie sundae" definitely not as pictured. The burgers and "chicken" sandwiches they make are super processed and also very low grade. Not expecting a gourmet burger by any means but the quality sucks. Of the ice cream places in the downtown charlevoix area, I would rank this the lowest. read more

This classic midwestern cinder block burger & soft-serve place has been here in one or another incarnation since I was on the short side of my teen years - and I'm Old. I'm giving the ice cream a 5 star because I love a good soft serve ice cream. If you're wanting traditional scoop ice cream then this isn't the place for you. Their ice cream is thick and creamy just the way I like it. They never add water so you'll never find ice crystals. As for the food you may wish to go elsewhere. My wife and I were looking for somewhere we could eat around 10:30pm when everything was closed. We stumbled upon the Dairy Grille and not only were they open until 11pm, their Wahoo burger is easily the best ice cream stand burger I've ever had. And one of the biggest! They say it's a half-pound burger but I would not be surprised if it was closer to 1lb in size. Huge! And tasty! You usually don't expect too much from humble ice cream stands but the next time I'm in Charlevoix, I know where I'm going for a burger. read more
