Cute little coffee spot to stop and check out. The vibes were great and the staff was kind. Great place to take back a little something for ourselves and gifts for our coffee loving family!

I love this downtown location! Right in the middle of downtown. Lots of space to sit if you want to. They have comfy chairs around their fireplace and lots of tables. I love their nitro cold brew with lavender cold foam but they also make other cold foam flavors. The consistency of their foam is better than Starbucks. It's always consistent and creamy. I also love their more naturally made pumpkin lattes for fall. I buy their beans for my home espresso machine. They're constantly roasting beans so they're always fresh. I love the Guatemalan and Golden Espresso but you can't go wrong. They are community focused and invested donating to many local causes and are committed to providing a public downtown bathroom, which is such a nice thing to do as they get so much traffic and there aren't many bathrooms downtown. They also have a changing table in the back room. I love that they stock local bakery, Nine Bean Row, pastries--the croissants sell out early in the day.

There are some coffee shops you go to for a meticulously measured pour over cup of coffee made with fair trade beans roasted in house and sourced from a remote farm in Costa Rica. No cream. No sugar. Black to allow the flavor profile of the beans to shine. Then there are some coffee shops you go to and gleefully order a sugary flavored latte or cold brew in flavor combos like like "caramel hazelnut fudge" and "s'mores cream" and you have a most wonderful sugar and caffeine rush. And, while Espresso Bay does roast their beans and source single origin beans from around the globe, I find them falling more into the latter coffee shop category for me, gravitating towards the "fun" drinks here. It's hard to resist when they have options like peppermint chip, cherry truffle, or almond joy. The shop itself is really spacious and filled with cute decor and seating. It gets a little more crowded in the summer of course, but that's compliments of their perfect location right in the heart of the main shopping drag in Traverse City. If you're not a coffee drinker or you've caffeinated enough for the day you can also enjoy a fruity smoothie or some kombucha on tap. They've also got a nice offering of pastries and snacks if you're feeling peckish.

Needed an afternoon pick me up, so we stopped at the Expresso Bay which is right in the heart of downtown. Easily visible on the corner. Good number of places to sit and longue. High ceilings but still a cozy feel. The order counter can get a little tight with people coming in and waiting in line. Staff were friendly. At the time we were there they only had card available, so not sure if that is always the case. Their menu is very visual with the type of coffee/teas they offer, along with smoothies. I ordered a pumpkin cream cold brew. The cream was delicious and the coffee was smooth.

We can't wait to go back to Espresso Bay! There are so many options to choose from, the whole entire family will be pleased. The ambiance is cozy & inviting, with plenty of seating available. Our craft drinks were whipped up promptly with a smile. The quality was delish! The matcha latte being a fan favorite. I need to buy some beans when I swing back thru!

The staff was totally friendly but this gotta be one of the worst matcha I ever had. Too much milk, too much sweetener... I had no idea how they managed to mess it up so badly. Never had the coffee there so couldn't speak on that. Cute cafe though!

The staff was very friendly and it was a nice place to warm up on a cold day. Both of our drinks were very good.

Not that I don't enjoy healthy food, I just want as much food as possible and in as much quantity as possible. But, sometimes when you're traveling with other people, you have to give in to other options. That being said, I'm glad I was able to find something enjoyable. Which would have been difficult because there were so many choices to be made. I could come back three times a day for fifteen years and try sketching new each time. I could also be lying. But seriously. Choice variety 10/10. My choice bowl was a kale/banana/pineapple/coconut milk base (green bowl), with sliced bananas, blueberries, granola, and hemp seeds. I like fruity/citrusy/juicy fruits, so this sounded the best. I had zero expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. The decision to mix it all together was probably a good one and I ended up eating it all like a weird green bowl banana blueberry cereal. It was a little less fruity than I expected, but still had solid flavor. Taste level 7/10. Because I'm a gluttonous hound, I also thought it would be fun to get a smoothie to add to my already expanding gut. I chose the kowabunga with included banana, blueberry, pineapple, and coconut milk. I expected it to sweeter than it actually was. Though I expect all my foods to be sweet. Flavor profile 6/10. The atmosphere was pretty much par for the course for an establishment like this. Nice open area, waiting chairs, dine in. Several people waiting for to-go orders. The service wasn't terrible. Two workers running the show. That could very well have been the reason there was such a wait on our food. Though I can't imagine putting all the things we ordered together was a speedy situation. Service speed 6/10. Service accuracy 10/10. The three stars ultimately came from the flavors of the items I got not meeting my flavors criteria. And as a certified Chunky Monkey, I need my flavors.
