This was a lot different than I was thinking it was going to be. I thought it was mainly a breakfast bar but it's mostly coffee and salads. It's definitely expensive but that's Nantucket for you. We got a fresh squeezed orange juice which was really yummy (not sure if it was worth $6 but it was good)! I also got a piece of quiche which was delicious. There were hints of cinnamon in the egg which was a very nice touch. I thought this was going to have more breakfast options but all they have is one quiche and a few baked goods to choose from. The only place on the island that I've connected with. I can see the cafe being picked up and relocating to the NW. I love the fresh food and set up of cafe. It is very laid-back hippyish atmosphere. I love it even more that it's a stone throw away from Jared coffin. I highly recommend this place as the first place to hit for those new to the island and looking for a place to gather their game plan. The food is very good. The sandwiches are very flavorful and the salads are out of this world. Best coffee I found on Nantucket - I went back for more later in the week! I like my coffee really strong, so I ordered the Americano with an extra shot. Upon request, they even added some heavy cream to the Americano and made it perfect. We ordered some egg + chorizo sandwiches from the cooler and they toasted them up for us - very good and very filling. The indoor space was crowded and in demand on a hot day, but there seemed to be a nice outdoor space for cooler temps. The sparkling water on tap rounded out a great couple visits! read more

The food is fine but the attitude of the staff is unacceptably rude. Not just once, but because no one else was open I made the mistake of returning, so we went twice over stroll weekend. We just had breakfast here this morning and the food was okay, but the interaction we had with one of the people that work here was pretty unfortunate. After we ordered our food and coffee, she approached our table and said we needed to leave because they don't allow dogs inside. I explained that the dog is our service animal, and goes with us everywhere. He is certified and trained, and was laying down under our table. She approached us again about 5 minutes saying she was going to get her manager, pointing to the sign on the window that said "no dogs". At this point we encouraged her to get her manager, as in our experience, a manager understands that this is not a just or legal request. She then rolled her eyes and walked off saying "you can sit in here with your pet then". Her attitude and approach was very appalling and inappropriate. It left us very uncomfortable and we unfortunately will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Since there is no Starbucks on the island, this is your best alternative. This is a cafe that is part of the culinary school, so the food and drinks are good. There isn't enough seating, and it is expensive like everything else on the island. Still, if you're in town, this is your best choice. Like Starbucks, most food is pre-prepared in packaging for you to grab yourself. It's all decent, though I personally think a bit average. Still, the hot chocolate is amazing. read more

Right in the middle of downtown it's easy to miss because it's in the basement (pretty normal for the island) . It's a perfect quick stop if you need your morning coffee, or healthy prepared lunch. Prices are elevated...If you take the price you think it should be then add an additional 20 percent for the fact you're eating it on nantucket. The quality is consistent and the staff is always nice. I'd recommend the soup, chicken salad, and Greek salad. Outdoor seating is not covered but still nice and there is usually a spot open. read more

Well - Nick - the coffee barista told me on my way in that they had the best coffee in town and he was so right. Perfect foam on the cappuccino and the coffee was strong which I like. For lunch I mixed three sides - tabbouleh salad, the cole slaw and the kale - brought it to the counter and they tossed it into a big bowl for me. A perfect lunch. Wanted to complement the owners of Corner Table and Nantucket Culinary Institute. We're retired to Nantucket and have been staying at home during the pandemic. The owners did a superb job creating a means for families to order dinner for four (with menus posted in advance) three days a week. For $75, patrons could have a dinner for four delivered to them and the owners would provide a comparable dinner to a family of four with limited means. They basically showed enormous ingenuity in creating this generous model that kept them alive, while also helping struggling Island families and providing excellent food for those who ordered (with just my husband and me, these dinners lasted for at least three major meals). Dinners we enjoyed included chicken caccciatore (with salad, bread and desert), spare ribs (with coleslaw, cornbread and dessert), and roast chicken (with potatoes, carrots, and apple crisp). The owners are taking a break from this delivery ordering system to get their basic "live" operation downtown up and running for the summer now that some of the pandemic constraints have been lifted. We commend them on their generosity, food quality, ease of ordering, and innovative spirit. Support these folks all you can! read more
