Espresso Love has such a cute first impression! The little garden seating area is shaded, green, and really charming -- definitely the kind of place where you want to sit, chat, and enjoy a meal. And it was PACKED when I visited, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were a major letdown. I ordered the breakfast bowl, and for the price, it tasted like a pretty basic microwave meal. The eggs had that watery/sweaty texture you get from reheated food, the sausage tasted like a microwaved frozen patty, and I'm pretty sure the salsa was straight out of a Pace/Tostinos jar. Even the jalapeños were the pickled kind rather than fresh. For the price point, I expected something fresher and more thoughtfully prepared. I also ordered a shaken espresso, specifically because I wanted something coffee-forward with just a little milk. Instead, mine was overwhelmingly milky and barely tasted like espresso. Definitely not what I was hoping for. One other thing that really bothered me was the setup around the utensils -- the straws and forks were positioned right next to what appeared to be dirty/used water from the sanitation area. It just wasn't particularly appetizing or confidence-inspiring. I'm honestly surprised this place has such a strong local following because the experience just didn't live up to the hype for me. Picked up lunch here twice while I was in town most recently. The place was packed with people so I was happy that I placed our order online for pick up. I've been coming to this spot since 2020, and every experience has been exceptional from the customer service to the food. This visit (8/17/25) was EXTREMELY different. First, it started with my smoothie order. I wanted a mango smoothie and I was told only berrilicious was available. Moments later, my friend had a mango smoothie. Very interesting that she was able to get one and I wasn't. That was a lapse in actually checking first, since he didn't know. Then, I ordered a sweet potato, black bean burger. When I started to consume the burger, I noticed that it was very burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside not a desirable bite and it was bland. I requested another sandwich because it's a high chance it'll come out the same way, I'd rather have a tuna salad on a roll. The server then asked my name for the order (2) more times. Then, said she needed to talk to her manager about changing it. She speaks to her manager in Spanish and not talking good about me. Assuming that I don't understand Spanish as a Black woman or American. After five minutes she handed me a hot sandwich. I asked what it was, she said it's the tuna sandwich you asked for (which also had burnt toast). I responded I don't want it like this and you didn't take my order. You said you needed to speak to your manager. She cuts me off and says well what do you want? At this point a refund because your customer service is horrible. I know this is not the norm because the way the workers were looking at her and apologized to me, I knew this was out of character for this establishment. Within two minutes, another manager handled it the way it should have been, an apology for a burnt burger and an immediate action to remedy the situation (refund). That is the only reason I will return, but the server and the manager speaking bad about a customer in Spanish, is a poor look for this place. If it happens again, I will know better, and have a lot more to say because I won't be disrespected, but I will return for now. read more

**EAT HERE** Stopped in here for a quick lunch bite. Adorable coffee shop that has yummy food and coffee. We got the Butternut Squash Soup that came with a parmesan scone. WOO HOOO! SO good. My husband got the Black Bean Patty Burger and that also was tasty. We also got the Caesar Salad which came with the best croutons. I absolutely recommend eating here. The staff was super nice. You might want to order your lunch online and then go in to order your espresso from the friendly barista. This place is a hidden gem well known to the locals for their sandwiches and salads, pastries and espresso drinks. I didn't order ahead but the line went fast because of the experienced line chefs and the efficient hostess/order-taker/cashier. I had the mango chicken salad, a delightful change of traditional chicken salad. I will be going back tomorrow morning for a sugar free flavored latte. Probably pumpkin spice! read more

Horrible customer service. They continue to take orders and fill what they first grab instead of going in the order in which they were taken. Once you get your order (after waiting 30 minutes for a bagel) the order is wrong. My daughter went a few days prior and they completely overlooked her and when she said something, they told her to go to the back of the line. When an older white man came in and wanted to order, they took him right away. Train your employees in customer service or your business will not be here tomorrow. read more

Lovely little spot we were so lucky to find open in late November. Absolutely beautiful staff with awesome service. They made the perfect Cortado and Chai latte. The hot chocolate and iced coffee were also delicious. We ate some amazing stuff like the Sunrise on a bagel, a chicken veggie soup, and a Turkey Bacon on a gluten free wrap. This place looked super intriguing because of the wide variety of healthier and vegetarian-friendly options. We woke up on the later side and were looking for a place to grab a small meal. I had to do some convincing because GF was craving seafood but I ultimately won her over. The only thing in between me and their powerhouse sandwich (havarti, avocado, cucumber, pesto, lettuce, tomato) was a quick trip to drop something off at UPS in Vineyard Haven. Yelp incorrectly told me that this place is open until 8pm. It's not. On Friday, the day of our patronization, it closes at 4pm. We arrived back in Edgartown with enough time to walk in through the door at the buzzer, around 3:45pm. We had planned this out so I walked up to the register man to place our order. Prior to placing my order, while standing at the register, the dude was on the phone on what seemed like a personal phone call and said something like, "we close at 4pm so I'll be there soon". My coworkers will tell you that I am certainly not the pinnacle of professionalism by any means but I mean, taking a personal phone call while a customer is waiting to order at the register is one of the most unprofessional experiences I have endured in the hospitality industry. When his phone call was complete and he graced me with his attention, I ordered 2 matcha lattes. When attempting to order my highly awaited sandwich, I was informed that the kitchen was closed. I don't know exactly when the kitchen closes but it's before the closing time of 4pm and I did not see any indication of this on their website or menu. Ummmm ok. That was a bummer. The iced matcha lattes also had no sweetener whatsoever and there was no sweetener out for me to add myself nor did they offer any when I ordered. Largely because of the sweetener issue, the latte was just meh. The last 1/3 of it included chunks of undissolved matcha which to me just indicates laziness with its preparation. But, you know, clearly that employee had somewhere to be and the lattes we spent, no joke, over $15 on combined, did not require more than 2 seconds of effort. Anyways, needless to say I think I will be spending my money on overpriced stuff elsewhere next time I visit. read more

It's expensive but food and coffee is very good. We ordered 2 coffees, breakfast sandwiches, and 2 pastries and the total was almost $50. The latte was the best one I've had on the island so far. The sandwiches were a little small but tasty. We really enjoyed the blueberry scone and raspberry muffin too. The staff was friendly and the service was pretty quick. Espresso Love is a regular stop whenever we come to MV. Their Coffee is our favorite coffee on MV and that's saying a lot. Their food is also outstanding. My wife loves the Buddha bowl and thinks the dressing is the best dressing she's had. I usually get a Special bowl but today they didn't have my favorite and John whipped up an amazing vegan bowl with warm quinoa, chickpeas, black beans, olives and mashed avocado with a vegan aioli dressing Really really outstanding. I can't comment on the food because after 35 minutes of waiting (and being misled on the "status of my order") I never received any food. I get it, we're on island time. But when someone inquires about the status of an order they put in 15 minutes ago, and you brush them off with a "yes they're getting to it," only to be told 20 minutes later that your order was never put in, it honestly feels like you deserve more than a refund. At least an apology. I'm literally here for one day, have 3 hours to my afternoon, and just needed a sandwich to bring on a bike ride. I thoroughly enjoy this coffee house / cafe. We are locals and go at least 1-2x per week. The coffee (we've had house coffee, espressos, and tea drinks) is always solid. We at here both days we stayed on the island. It was a short walk from our hotel. They also are among the earliest opening restaurants, so they benefit from the early lack of competition. When we visited, about half the clientele were workmen and landscapers getting some early food/coffee. If you visit early, they are likely solo-staffed, so be a bit patient. They have good bagel sandwiches, baked goods, and smoothies. All of our party came away satisfied with whatever they ordered. The wait for the food was not that long. We did not visit for lunch, so I cannot advise about that. Overall, I liked this place a lot (especially at the cusp of season-opening time when there are few other choices). Food is consistently great, coffee drinks are good and the service varies based on which employee takes your order. Jonathan is a standout employee at the Edgartown location- he is always friendly, incredibly helpful and attentive (if you are standing around waiting for an order for more than 5 minutes, he will notice and ask what you're waiting for and actually check on the order for you). He is the type of employee that makes you want to be a regular. All of their breakfast items (scones, bagels, etc) are solid but don't overlook the lunch/dinner items they offer - they are one of the few spots offering healthy salad and sandwich options. I have never heard of Espresso Love, despite them having a location in Boston... We went here for a late lunch on a recommendation and were quite happy. The girl who took our order was super friendly and even brought the food out to us on the patio. We split the Chicken Avo BLT (grilled chicken breast, bacon, avocado, mayo on toasted sour dough) and the Tom (turkey, american, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, mayo, cranberry sauce on 12 grain bread). Each sandwich was $10.99 and came with tortilla chips (a nice change from regular chips) and a good size pickle slice (yum). The BLT was nice & warm, and full of flavor. The Tom was very good, but not as flavorful as the BLT. I didn't really taste the havarti... We were given huge cups of tap water, which is a huge plus. One of our biggest pet peeves is when places give you itty bitty cups of water, because they want you to have purchased a drink instead. I might need to make a visit to the Boston location now - if only to try one of the AMAZING looking desserts (blueberry cheesecake bar? YES PLEASE). read more
