They are busy, and we get that and we know that things will come I time. But, three times to ask for water, brunch dropped off and no butter on the table, and then the portion of salad served on the plate, besides being tiny was not dressed. Nice breakfast spot in downtown Milford. I liked that they had items from different types of cuisines that you would not expect. I decided to try the empanada. I thought the flavor was good was juicy, maybe could use a little more meat. The home fries could use a little more flavor. Pancakes I thought were nice and light had a decent amount of fluff to it. A few weeks we became "stranded" in Milford, CT due to unexpected auto problems. while our vehicle was being serviced, we had a chance to walk around & explore the downtown area of Milford. We hadn't had breakfast & when lunch time approached we were famished. We saw the sign for The Corner Restaurant; came to the front window area & peeked inside; busy but not overwhelming. we were greeted with a huge smile by one of the employees & quickly escorted to a window-side tables; handed a menue & again that glorious smile asked: " Would you like some coffee?" After that everything fell into place for delicious omelets, hot coffee... & even gluten free toast for my husband! A lovely setting, delicious food, kindness were all part of the service. Gluten Free individuals should be very very cautious when eating here or even ordering a hot drink. They are not very knowledgeable. I was served a gluten free chai tea with a gluten cookie on top. Then it was remade by only dumping 1/2 out after it touched the cookie with cookie remains in it then remade. I had to have her get a new cup and remake it but they didn't look happy about it hence the eye roll. Thank goodness my husband was watching what was going on. That was a big NO NO!!!! The gluten free toast was put on the griddle with all the other items. Keep your eyes open at all times because you can get very very sick! I would have to say based on this there is not a gluten free menu and they are not gluten friendly at all. High risk for sickness! Everything looks very nice and comes out super quick but I'm sick to my stomach. And when paying for items $13-18 each I definitely would think the chef would have been more accommodating for someone with a gluten allergy. The food should have been piping hot and wasn't. A small gem with a unique take on brunch. The intrigue of their "famous" duck dish initially drew my curiosity, but the rest of the menu confirmed it as a must on my brunch list. It is a small place with dining inside and a couple tables just outside. They do not take reservations, so just be aware that it is first come, first served. I think we got a bit lucky. We there in early April on a Saturday around 10 AM. We did not have to wait and were able to get a table inside. I was thankful because was still a bit chill outside at that time. I knew the duck dish had to be one of our orders. The second was harder to narrow down. As you can see from my photos, it was the hash that won out! Both were creative works of deliciousness. The bacon wrapping around the duck was very impressive. It was just a slice or two wrapped around a wrap. The entire wrap was constructed of bacon. I say constructed because it had purpose, held its shape, and functioned as a wrap not a loose covering. The hash had a delicate beauty but a flavorful, fulfilling composition. Everything came out surprisingly quick and our server was very kind to boot. Great experience all around. I cannot wait to come back to tick a couple more off the menu! We stopped here looking for something different! I got the African Hash, a spicy beef and lentil hash served over an English muffin. Topped with poached eggs, crispy potato carvings, and Béarnaise sauce. It was delicious!! I wish I had taken a picture; the presentation was beautiful! It was served with home fries. They were not hot and weren't that good. They might have been better if they were hot. My husband had a stack of pancakes and said they were OK; the toasted almond coffee was good. I don't review much so when I do I have something to say. I came after looking at the reviews and I have to question them. First, make sure you have plenty of cash because they don't take credit cards and it's relatively expensive. The food was good but not THAT good as I would go out of my way for it again. I got the Stuffed French Toast Trio but received only two French toasts with a "Tres Leche" substitute which was good but not what I wanted. They no longer have the third stuffed French toast. It would have been nice if they notified me first and gave me a choice. Sausage and bacon( very smoky) sides were tasty but not worth it You get one patty and a few little pieces of bacon for $4.50 each. Service was kind of abrupt and not the friendliest. it was extremely loud inside. It reminded me of being in an elementary school lunch room. Quirky decor...but it felt put on and fake. Like they were trying too hard to be quirky. Not a lot of parking available. And let it be known very dirty bathrooms which is telling of their overall cleanliness. read more

The Corner is the best! My boyfriend and I love ordering take out from here on the weekends. The Corner has a huge menu and amazing vegan options! My boyfriend has ordered their Cuban Pork Breakfast Tacos and the Pulled Duck Burrito. He especially loved the burrito because it's wrapped in bacon and is served with the most delicious home fries. This time I got the eggs Benedict which was the absolute best I've had. My fiancé had the Malaysian pulled pork again so good, but spicer then the duck so if you like spicy you'll love this. First time today at The Corner. It's a small space and tables are tight but the food and the hype are true. We had the spicy Indian duck. A fair amount of heat but so delicious!! Wow!! Great little spot with quick, solid brunch options! It's located right next to the government buildings near downtown Milford.
