Lobster bisque and Caesar salad w/ white anchovies (kinda fishy but still good), My wife got the filet and I got the scallop carbonara (some of the best scallops and pasta I've ever had), and then got the desert to go. Chocolate torte and lemon goat cheese cake. Everything was amazing and we are glad we made the 30 minute drive while vacationing in Rangeley.

What a lovely setting in a lovely part of Maine. Not at all crowded on a Thursday night (well the tiny bar was Packed). After 5 consecutive days of hiking this was our choice for a dinner out. The wine list is extensive; 18 reds and 17 Whites. I live in NYC and not many places have that (and i get around). Long cocktail list too, featuring local spirits. Had a vodka and cucumber drink, didn't finish it. On to the food... again quite a long menu with a lot of variety but I found that many of the dishes had either dairy/cheese/gluten or meat in them even if poultry or fish. If you are selective or picky it can Make things tricky. All I wanted was some clean fish or seafood but they all had one or 2 of the above in them. Opted for a variety of apps. Our sever was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu but not at all about the wine. She actually made a comment about not "being able to taste them". I hope that's not policy bc the server should absolutely try and know every wine. The lobster bisque, an absolute indulgence for me was mediocre. Mostly tasted like cream, no discernible seafood flavor. The foie gras app was overpowered by the balsamic reduction and banana bread. Diner rolls were served warm and with butter, a nice touch. Last item was a grilled asparagus salad with one of their fresh eggs. It was nice. Just nice. Dessert menu also long! Yeah. Had the strawberry shortcake, a large biscuit with macerated strawberries and huge dollop of whip cream. I ate the whole thing and was so full I couldn't finish my wine. I would come again bc it's a nice place with lots of variety, not everything hits the mark.

When I go skiing I don't expect to have a beautiful lunch. Typically I grab an overpriced pizza…read moreslice at the base cabin. All that changed at Nest. This is placed off the top of a ski lift. When you enter you see a beautiful room, filled with yellow tables and chairs, and huge windows to see the rest of the mountain. It's warm, inviting, and great for groups. We were all impressed by how stunning the place looked as we walked in. I came with a group of 6 people after a morning of skiing. We were cold, hungry, and ready to eat. Nest more than met our expectations. We had an assortment of cocktails, cocoas, chilis, and sandwiches. I personally loved the Cubano sandwich. It is huge! I recommend sharing with a friend. It's not like a typical Cubano, but it's a fun twist. The bread was a perfect texture and the dijon mustard added great flavor. I was impressed by how well plated the food was for being on a ski mountain. Cocktails were good, but pricey. Hot cocoas were cheaper and more delicious! Overall the food was awesome, great for sharing, and reasonably priced. I don't ski at Saddleback often, but when I come back I will make a point to stop for lunch again. High recommend!

You can't drive here. You can ski or snowmobile. You're greeted by a stark wooden building with a truly green roof off the trails. Once you walk inside, it's a totally different story. Some is the most gorgeous mountain views in the East, with Rangeley Lake in the background, Mount Washington to the West, Sugarloaf Mountain to the North, and an upscale, modern and welcoming place. The beer selection is ample although only cans - kind of hard to get kegs 2,000 feet up - and the menu is quite extensive - from ramen to a delightful recreation of a Cuban Sandwich - an enormous serving. Definitely a great place to eat while T Saddleback.

I love weird bars--they're my favorite. For a while I thought there weren't any to be had around…read morecentral Maine. Enter Easy Street. I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)? It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Friends of ours wanted to play some pool after we had dinner nearby at Lucky Garden, so we did exactly that. It was a slow night and no one was waiting for the table, so we played about 4 or 5 games and had a lovely time. The decor is awesome, the bar is clean, and the staff were friendly. I've always had a good time here, and I enjoy the artwork too!
