Freshly baked cookies... Aaahhhh the scent of something freshly baked is just indescribable and it just didn't help that the walk back to the car is this cute little nook of a shop filled with cookies. The Cookie Corner location is in the Kaimuki Shopping Center 2nd floor along side of a bank, Long's and Fairwood and with lots of free parking you're at your leisure to shop at the many various shops found here and of course it was the day I finally gave this store a peek. Yes if you can believe it I've tried to say no and resist it to best that I can but today was something that I just couldn't resist and as I approached the store which was closed earlier I see their display case filled with various cookies though there is one that really caught my attention...seasonal special...such a sucker for that limited special flavor and today was no different a apparently Christmas season is winding down as the new year is fast approaching "Verry Merry Oatmeal Cranberry" is on it's last hurrah. I'm not a huge raisin fan and the thought of Oatmeal and Cranberry sounds absolutely amazing that I just had to give them a try along with a small container or "Surf Snack" of confetti cookies. The staff there is very nice and friendly as we chat about this seasonal find she says there's just a few left before it leaves us which made me glad to stumble upon this though I believe the scent call me to attention for the signal of sweetness. I swear when I walk by "The Cookie Corner" cookie shop, the free smell of their delicious cookies is da BIG DRAW of this cookie shop!!! Every time I pass by this cookie shop in the Kaimuki Shopping Center, or the other cookie shop inside of Kahala Mall, trying to resist buying some cookies is so hard, because I know very well that the Cookie Corner make AMAZING cookies!!! Whenever I'm in this shopping center to go to Long's, Times, or the credit union, I always have to stop at The Cookie Corner to get my cookie fix. The aroma of fresh baked cookies just gets me every time! The hardest part of coming here is deciding on what to get - do I get the bite-sized cookies, snickerdoodle, oatmeal, M&M, or ....???? My latest discovery here is the Peanut butter cookie with Reese's Peanut Butter cup, which is back for a limited time. It certainly is a match made in heaven. read more

Geez, I've known The Cookie Corner (CC) for so many, many years now. Back in the 80's when they first opened in downtown Honolulu, I recall the addicting smell in the air that draws you in. Cookies are baked fresh on site all day so you need self control to walk past CC without purchasing anything. I used to work at Bishop Square in downtown Honolulu and had a hard time walking past CC not buying anything. No self control on my part! Located on the street level of Kaimuki Shopping Center just next to Long's, CC is a very small shop where the smell gets your attention. Now that I'm working in Kaimuki, I do my banking in this area and today just couldn't resist that smell in the air. After having lunch, I went to the bank to make a deposit and on the way back to my car I couldn't resist the smell of freshly baked cookies. To my delight and surprise, there was no one at CC so I walked up and checked out their cookies. As a personal favorite, I'm a huge fan of their chocolate chip cookies. But being that I work with some people who like nuts, I picked up a dozen chocolate chip cookies of with and without nuts to take back. As the female staff packaged the cookies up for me, I looked up and noticed their Hawaiian fruit bars, another favorite. Geez, this is getting expensive I told myself but I sure wasn't going to deprive myself. Wait a minute.....I have no self control! I also asked for the assortment pack of fruit bars. When I got back to the office to share my haul, many of my colleagues were thrilled with dessert time. Most of us had just eaten Popeye's chicken sandwiches for lunch so this sweet treat really hit the spot to offset the savory taste in our mouths. To my surprise, many of my colleagues chose the chocolate chip cookies with walnuts. I need to remember that for future purchases. BTW, credit cards accepted here. For parking, it's shared between the many businesses here at Kaimuki Shopping Center and it can get pretty hairy at times if you're looking for a stall on the street level. Hit or miss. I went to the bank next door and the smell of the cookies was too intoxicating. So I hopped over after I was done there. There is no denying Cookie Corner makes good cookies. They always seem to get me when I smell their cookies baking. But this last visit really got me angry and I should've checked the receipt before I walked away (that's my fault). I only noticed how over charged I was until I got home and looked at it. I ordered 5 regular chocolate chip cookies and 1 s'more cookie which is very large and was charged 27.20. Normally I can walk away with a good amount of cookies for under 20 dollars, but this time I was really ripped off. I don't think I will be returning to this location as I was obviously overcharged. read more

I was craving a lemon bar and remembered the Cookie Corner had a lilikoi bar. Thankfully there was no line and I was able to get my fix that much sooner. I also saw they have the Chinese New Year almond cookie. I got a bag of each. The lilikoi bar is very good especially cold like how they give it to you right there. The almond cookies were perfect, just small enough for a whole bite, but filling for the size. I am glad there is one outside of a mall for me to zip in and out.. read more

I love this Cookie Corner. When I lived in town, I went more often. Now, I stop here after an appointment with my doctor. You could say, it's a treat to myself. (I tell myself, the doctor took my blood, so I need a cookie--LOL!) It's always staffed by some overworked young person, and so I like to order two cookies, a cold drink and if the worker is halfway decent, I tip him/her generously. I stopped by after waiting in line at my bank. The clerk took my order and threw my cookie on the counter. Not only that, she was constantly on her phone when I left and came back to get napkins. Om nom nom... I am Cookie Monster personified. Well, that's actually my husband but I do love cookies as well. He is on this crazy diet since he wants to be all skinny... I know bad news bears for me but I don't care! Well at least not when it comes to smelling their heavenly cookies! I am a big fan of their mini cookies in the cup but I have gotten a few burnt oatmeal raisin cookies and they just left a bad taste in my mouth... literally. So I have switched to getting their cookie combo which is $3.29 for 2 cookies and any size drink. I love the coconut cookie and my husband loves their chocolate chip walnut ones... he loves walnuts! He's actually a healthy eater when he wants to be but then he's got this dark snack side that sometimes takes over... he says in the fat kid in him... call it what you will, but that means I always have a fat kid in me... sad face! The two cookie combo restricts us because then we can only get two cookies and I won't eat the whole cup of cookies... whoops! I have never had a problem with the people... I always seem to forget that this Cookie Corner is here...maybe because it's so little? I also try to avoid this shopping center because between Longs & Times, the parking lot gets absolutely bonkers. But! If you just happen to be hanging around, trying to kill time while your car is in the shop down the road, this is such a great gem to rediscover! I believe they must have just opened when I stopped by last week because they still didn't have all the cookies available. I am a huge fan of their M&M cookie so I was a tiny bit disappointed it wasn't available yet. I settled for chocolate chip & on first bite, that sadness dissipated instantly! The staff was bright & friendly; something small that means A LOT to me, especially in the mornings. This place is dangerous. Whenever I go to Long's, the scent of cookies draw you to them just like cheese did with Monterrey Jack from Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers. This place is good for someone like me since I could just buy ONE and then be off on my way. Sandwiched between Long's and American Saving's Bank, this place could be hard to find if you turned off your nose. It is a little small shack with a display case for cookies. You could also buy "Gift Packs" of cookies to bring to an event or back to your office. Simple, fast, efficient. That's what this Cookie Corner is. What I love to do with cookies here are to make ice cream sandwiches. Buy two of the big double chocolate ones. Hop on to Times Supermarket downstairs, buy some Meadow Gold vanilla ice cream, go home, then lay back and enjoy. Parking here is extremely tough during peak hours between noon and 6pm since everyone decides to shop Long's and Times during those hours. read more

Although I'm sure all cookie corner locations have the same display case, I saw a fly inside the case, landing on all the cookies. Cookies are awesome. I mean in general. Over here, I guess they're so-so. They're cookies, right? Who doesn't like cookies, even if they're average cookies? Nothing here really pops for me flavor wise. They make fresh cookies, yes, but I mean they still don't stand out enough for 5 stars. They just aren't cookies "to die for," not that they're bad. I guess I just have higher standards. I've been to gourmet cookie shops/bakeries and they just don't compare. I'm also not a fan of the set up here. It's an open air storefront and you basically stand on the cement walkway outside of Long's. I prefer a closed storefront where I don't have to worry about wondering how many birds have flown in, lured by cookie crumbs. I'm not saying they did when I was there but there isn't much stopping them if they wanted. Plus I'm also not a fan of ordering my cookies while standing in a spot where some guy might have spit gum or saliva a few minutes earlier. Gross, I know. I still ate the cookies because I've been to far, far, farrrrrr worse places. But not while having pleasant thoughts about my surroundings.
