    Alaskan Crab
    Jason L.

A Culinary Gem in Ennis! My wife and recently had the pleasure of dining at Continental Divide in Ennis, Montana, and we can confidently say it's one of the best culinary experiences we've ever had. If you're a fan of bison dishes and succulent crab, just to name a few of their amazing dishes...this is the place to go! First off, let's talk about the bison. It was hands down the best cut of meat I have ever tasted! Tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, every bite melted in my mouth. The chef truly knows how to bring out the natural flavor--it's a must-try dish! Now, onto the Alaskan crab legs. Wow! They were out of this world! Fresh, succulent, and served with a delicious sides. they were all simply irresistible. My wife and I couldn't get enough! But what truly set Continental Divide apart was the outstanding customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in until the last bite of dessert. If you find yourself in Ennis, don't miss the opportunity to indulge in what we believe is one of the best places we have ever dined...and....all while enjoying fantastic service and an amazing view. We can't wait to return!

    Bavette steak

I write a considerable amount of restaurant reviews that are to the point and unbiased. We wanted to try the Contential Divide as it is know as the only fine dining establishment for miles around Ennis Montana. The chef came to greet us at our table in the outdoor seating, (inside is also available.) Great conversation with the Chef; rare in the arena of other fine dining restaurants. The good: The French onion soup was the best I have ever had. A sherry based onion soup with just the right touch of cheese and bread, delicious! The wedge salad was also a hit with homemade dressing and the correct amount of bacon, onion, etc. Wonderful. The Asparagus was just the correct crispness without being over-sauced as it typically is elsewhere. The Bison Albondigashaf a rich broth with a hint of Serrano, quite good. The average: The truffle mash potatoes could use more truffles, (minor point.) The "Lavender" butter was bit strange. My wife had the duck and although it was not prepared in the traditional way for the common pallets, it was good with a good sauce. Not a dish that will knock your socks off though. The not so-good. My10 0z Montana Wagyu Bavette steak was disappointing. First there was only a dime size dollop of sauce and void of any seasoning, (read basic salt & pepper.) It was lacking in flavor and mouthfeel. Although it was explained by the Chef that is is similar to a skirt steak or flank, it was neither. A lackluster cut of beef altogether. *Note: I almost ordered the ribs and they were touted to be very good. I did an see at another table the ribs and regretted my choice of entree. The service. We had a 6 pm reservation and when we arrived they were a number of open tables. We were seated inside and the AC was full blast cold so we opted to dine outside with the persistent flies. Our waitress started out ok but left us abandoned after our entrees were served. *I really wanted some side sauce, more bread & butter, water but was denied to to lack of table service. When she did appear after I requested her from another waiter, she said "There was a snafu in the kitchen" and that was the excuse for us being ghosted. Shame on Contenential Divide for not have the wait-staff available for a full house., Not what you expect from fine dining. Summary: If you get reservation early enough. (read: 5PM) then possibly you won't be abandoned at your table. Avoid the Bavette steak and opt for the ribs. Dine inside where the ever-present fly is not also feasting on your entree. I am sure these somewhat seemingly miss-steps may have been random but the other patrons were not getting the table service that you would expect in fine dining. I wish the Continental Divide well in their endeavor to bring fine dining to the hideaway place of Ennis Montana but they need a little housekeeping first before we return to dine there.

    Apricot-Mango Glazed Duck

Made it back to TCD for the summer menu. The place is a lot more busier, and they also have a nice shaded patio area. I sat outside. Service was excellent. I started with Walleye Bites...hand breaded with panko & macadamia sweet chili chipotle-lime dipping sauce. I liked the concept, and how it looked, but the fish had no flavor, and the panko batter was so thick it was overpowering the walleye, I think. Big portion. I could only eat a third of it. A larger amount of dip would be nice. Then, I ordered Poached Pear Salad...wine poached pears, pomegranate pearls, candied pecans, crumbled feta, Bermuda onion, mandarin-champagne vinaigrette. It was pretty tasty, but too sweet for me to finish it all. For the entree, I ordered Pan Seared Halibut...southwest spiced and with green chili-asiago risotto, roasted corn calabacitas and cilantro chimichurri. Super complex and tasty. Lots of flavors. Finally, for dessert, I got the Lemon Cake. Excellent! Citrusy and summer-like. The following night, I actually went back with a friend. This time, I ordered very little food cause I was so stuffed from the first night. My friend and I split Apricot-Mango Glazed Duck...pan seared moulard duck breast, truffle smashed potatoes and apricot-mango glaze. It was excellent, also! Look forward to the Fall/Winter menu! Thx, Chef John!

    Apricot Mango Duck

Our first time at this little hidden gem!! We had Lettuce Wraps, Chicken Tortilla Soup and Apricot Mango Duck with asparagus, spaghetti squash, mashed potatoes! Chef John was incredible! Super friendly, gave us a history of the restaurant. Allison, our waitress was great! We will definitely be back....there's so much more to try on the menu! We left so full and satiated!

    10 oz Montana "Wagyu" Bavette

I read great reviews, and was ready for a short beautiful road trip to Ennis, MT. The Continental Divide is a hidden gem of fine dining in the Northern Rocky Mts. I love Ennis, too. Small dining room...maybe 25 seats. I was solo but lots of other diners. Several birthdays. I finally declared it was my birthday, too! Great menu. Chef John may change it often but I'm not sure. I started with Cumin Scented Scallops. Perfectly cooked. Delicious. Then I got the 10 oz Montana "Wagyu" Bavette. Amazing. Came with mashed potatoes and baby broccoli and spaghetti squash. The steak was sliced, and had a delicious sauce and butter. I got dessert to go...the Flourless Chocolate Torte. My only disappointment of the night. It was great...super fudgy...with a raspberry coulee drizzle and whipped cream, but I was expecting the torte to be more cake like. Great service! End of the night, Chef John made the rounds. Super cool. Will definitely be back. Thx.

This place is a gem! It's adjacent to an RV park, but don't let it fool you. The food and service are amazing. We will definitely be going back

Great place for a nice, real dinner. Everything was great, especially enjoyed the Delmonico with mushrooms and the Bentley Burger.

Ask the Community - The Continental Divide

Does anyone know what prices are like? The website menu doesn't list prices. Just want an idea of entree prices. Thanks!

Is this place still in business?

The Continental Divide is in business but it closes during the harsh Montana months. Thus it is closed from mid October until springtime.

To start, we had the daily ceviche, which was a salmon ceviche with a bright citrus marinade, garnished with oranges and served alongside crispy wonton crackers. It was fresh, light, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. Next, we shared the hot crab dip, which was rich, warm, and packed with flavor. Served with grilled bread, it was the kind of dish you keep dipping back into because it's just that good. For our main dish, we shared the Brown Butter Scallops -- prosecco salt dusted scallops served with arugula pesto, herb mushrooms, and bacon & butternut squash arancini. The scallops themselves were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, but the real standout on the plate was the arancini. Crispy on the outside with a rich, savory filling of bacon and butternut squash, it paired beautifully with the rest of the dish and completely stole the show. The entire meal was beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared. The only small note is that the restaurant can get a bit loud when it's full, which can make conversation with your dinner companion slightly harder. That said, the lively atmosphere shouldn't stop you from enjoying a meal here. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience. If you go, do not skip the bacon and butternut squash arancini--it was the absolute star of the dish and truly sensational.

I started with a huckleberry mojito, which was so refreshing and not too sweet, and the truffle + Parmesan fries... obsessed. They were crispy, flavorful, and honestly hard to stop eating. For my entrée, I got the Cajun scallops and WOW--they were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. Definitely one of my favorite dishes I've had in Bozeman. I couldn't skip dessert, so I took home the masala chai panna cotta and the spiced chocolate torte, and both were amazing. The panna cotta was light with the best warm spice flavor, and the chocolate torte was rich in the best way. Service was super friendly and attentive, and overall it just felt like such a special night. As someone local, Feast is 100% a go-to and I'll definitely keep coming back!

When i pronounced I had a shellfish allergy I was told that everything had been cross contaminated and I couldn't eat there. I almost had to leave my family and uber home since the majority of my family can eat shellfish. I am a cook but I am no sushi chef I have done sushi while private cheffing. I do believe that there are certain steps you can take to prevent cross contamination and being able to store things properly in order to prevent contamination. I understand that when at sushi restaurants there's no helping fryers which is completely understandable. There is also a point I'd like to make how there should be some kind of sign outside or when making a reservation to pronounce on their end that they can't accommodate. At the end of the day I'm disappointed, I almost chose to leave my family, and we all ended up walking out without ordering since they can't accommodate to my allergy.
