Dropped in while visiting Ennis. Cute town and cute Saloon. Ordered the summer blt and cheddar, chives and sour cream tots It was a quiet Sunday afternoon with very attentive and friendly service. The T in summer BLT was a fried green tomato. Great concept and executed well. The toast on one side was lightly roasted and perfect while the other side was not toasted. A light toasting on the other side to match would have been perfect. The bacon was cooked perfect and the rest of the sandwich was cooked very well. The tots were great, you could tell the potatoes were shredded and mixed with the chive, sour cream and cheddar then fried. Service was great, considering it was July 5th and every one of us in that place looked like we'd been up since the 3rd. First off this is just strictly my view nothing personal. I was a little sad to experience the discrimination i did with one of my buddies visiting for a quick bite. i have no idea what we did wrong to receive such treatment from your waiter (short white male with glasses) he absolutely did not want to attend us and literally walked around the room asking everyone about the food and ambiance except us, they made us wait until the end, our food showed up after everyone else got served, our drinks didn't come until we were done eating, the whole vibe was just uncomfortable to the point it felt like we were not welcomed, i feel bad for the lady who was serving us they had here running everywhere and i sensed the discomfort from her as well, almost like she knew that we knew what was going on. The food was whatever nothing special just noticed the huge portions and really messy. Sorry i was born with brown skin, maybe talk to your workers about not being intimidated by someone who is not white. I would love to hear back from you guys as i know you video tape the inside, let's see the footage and see what you think. read more

Came here due to Yelp reviews as we were traveling through the area on vacation. Am very grateful we made the stop. This restaurant/bar is located in the heart of downtown Ennis. The preserved historic facade is a much appreciated gateway to the past. The same rustic theme passes through to the interior with some obvious upgrades. It's inviting yet you know it's a bar too...the food doesn't seem to be the focus yet it definitely should not be missed. We sat ourselves and the bartender quickly arrived with menus and asked for our drink order. This girl had to hustle as she was tending bar, cleaning tables, placing and serving orders...felt a little sorry that she had so much on her plate, but she never lost her smile and appeased every customer easily. Food came out quicker than I expected since it was a one-woman show, but the cook is somewhere in the back and he helped bringing out plates. My husband had "The Gunsmoke" (classic smash burger), added cheddar cheese. My friend and I had "The Outlaw" smash burger (bacon, bleu cheese, bourbon grilled onions) and my other friend had the chicken tenders. The burgers were heavily seasoned (some complained of too much salt, though to me it was perfect), tender and juicy even though the burgers were leaning more towards medium well than medium. All ingredients were a perfect compliment to each burger. The Outlaw is incredibly rich since there aren't any fresh veggies to cut the richness, but that's also part of its charm. The rosemary French fries were crisp tender, seasoned well...utterly scrumptious in every sense of the word. My friend also enjoyed the chicken tenders....fried without being overdone and lightly seasoned. Drink refills were frequent and never had to ask. Price was very reasonable considering how much food we had and how delicious it all was. $35 for excellent service, wonderful juicy burgers and drinks was well worth every cent! Just an FYI - bathrooms are very outdated, though somewhat charming at the same time....probably the worst part of the visit, though not off-putting enough to not use. Odd that there was a young child sitting at the bar with their mother but maybe it's a small town thing...it did make me feel a little uncomfortable. read more

Long Branch Saloon absolutely delivered. The garlic cheese curds were amazing -- crispy, flavorful, and the perfect start to our meal. Our waitress, Shae, was fantastic. She made excellent suggestions, kept our drinks filled, and was genuinely sweet and kind the entire time. My husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, and I had the Red Head sandwich. Both were phenomenal -- great flavor, great portions, and cooked perfectly. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. read more

I stopped in here on the night of 3/14/26 after being stuck in a blizzard in Island Park for 3 hrs (and 4 hrs on the road prior to that). It was the first establishment on my way home that had hot food. A burger, wings, or even fries would've been amazing. However, I stopped in at 9pm and the bartender said that they closed the kitchen ONE minute ago. I explained my situation and asked if they had any leftover fries or really anything that I could eat after a long, brutal winter day. They said no. There were still servers delivering food to tables at that time. So much for local hospitality... I will never be visiting this establishment again. read more

Came in for a bite with the family. Kendra was our waitress and she gave us great recommendations. Spicy honey chicken wings were awesome and tasty, rib eye sandwich, cowboy burger and chicken pesto sandwich were all amazing and made to order. We loved the French fries! What a great find in Ennis! Highly recommend to stop by and enjoy the local place with your families. You walk in and it's a saloon with the bar in front and tables in back. We ended up at the Longbranch unexpectedly and it turned into one of the best meals we've had in a long time. After a long three days of work, we were five dirty guys with work clothes on who tried to eat at the Tavern. We were told we needed reservations so we went to the Longbranch. Upon entering, the Longbranch was a very welcoming atmosphere. We sat down and were greeted with a smile by our server. Most of us ordered the prime rib special and it was one of the best steaks and side salad we've tasted. Even the presentation was amazing. Our table was right next to the kitchen so we were able to watch the chefs at work. These two men took so much pride in every dish they sent out. The presentation was amazing and I bet each one tasted just as good as our meal. The Longbranch is truly a diamond in the rough in Ennis. I just wish we would have found it sooner. We will be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a laid back atmosphere and amazing food! read more

Absolutely fabulous service from a male employee, sorry can't remember his name. We had a slight mix up on an order and the female server was also just as kind and friendly as could be, and fixed it immediately. Such a pleasant experience and the burgers were excellent. The tots were worth paying a little extra for, the fries freshly prepared per order and we had a great IPA recommended by our server. All in all, an A+ read more

First things first....this place is a saloon #1. As you enter the saloon, you are welcomed with a pool table, active/lively bar, and a few casino games. The place does have a quieter back room if that is needed. We decided to sit where the action is near the bar inside the saloon. The saloon definitely caters to the locals as many of the employees and guests seemed to know each other. Was a great vibe. We were greeted and helped very quickly. Our waitress was nice and sassy. She had the ability to dish out some trash talking which made the experience interesting....in a good way. The owner even stopped by and put in a few jabs to us non-locals......all in good humor. We ordered a beer to start along with fried pickles. Tip, they do not have beers on tap. The pickles had a nice spice to them and plenty of crunch. For dinner we grabbed a couple of burgers. The burgers were cooked outside on the BBQ which provided a great charred taste. The burgers were good but lacked on the bacon and pastrami. The tots and onion rings were a bit on the overcooked side...but we still devoured them. If you are in Ennis and looking for a burger, a saloon, a bit of sassy....longbranch is for you. Good fun and drinks, and met some neat younger adults. Big momma poured some killer drinks, kept our glasses full. I think this is the only bar that stays open later, good for us late arriving to town travelers. Also a nice easy walk from our Riverside hotel. Will keep on our lists to revisit, and bring fly rods for you anglers. read more

Despite the fact that they don't have beer on tap (but they do have Coldsmoke Scotch Ale in cans!), everything else about Longbranch Saloon was excellent. It was a quiet late Friday afternoon, only 2 locals at the bar, who nicely joined in the conversation. We were served by Big Momma (so much fun). They have a new chef, who in my humble opinion, serves the best chicken wings ever ! We also had the mushrooms (tasty) and shared the special Curry Shepherds Pie with great mashed potatoes and a perfect amount of ground meat and veggies with a nice curry flavor. Quaint little old-timey "saloon," somewhere between a family-friendly tourist trap and a biker bar. Came here with my sis on a Sunday night in July, and there wasn't much going on. We sat at the bar and had drinks, plus shared a steak sandwich. There's a full-on restaurant in the back, but we preferred the ambiance of the bar. Bartender was cool, and did shots with the cook/owner and the hostess right in front of us. Low-key and unpretentious vibe, not overly family-friendly but also not too hardcore. One word to describe this place... Welcoming. I arrived into town late Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend and most of the restaurants had closed. The kind lady over heard me asking about diner and she asked me what I was looking for. I told her I was not picky. Next thing I know I have a beer and a plate of Stuffed shells, cucumber salad and one the best Anti-pasta I have ever had. The shells were also delicious and the two bartenders found me a nice Stout from here in Montana. Folks, this is the hospitality I can only hope for when I arrive in a new location. A real surprise. Old time bar up front, restaurant has tables that look like they came out of a roadside breakfast place from 1970 with white paper table cloths that came off a roll. Stop there..... The steaks are absolutely fantastic! Cooked perfectly over a wood fire. Not cheap but worth every penny. Bean soup was excellent and salad was large and very well dressed. We ate here on a Sunday evening on way to Yellowstone. Was one of the few locations open to eat at. Admittedly, I was a little skeptical at first due to the name of the place, tried telling my wife that a saloon doesn't have food. Boy was I wrong! You walk into the bar part first, but there is a sitting area in the back, past the restrooms. We were seated quickly, and the one girl working the place got our food order quickly. I had the steak sandwich, my wife had the chicken fried steak. Wow, that steak sandwich had actual NY strip pieces of steak on it, and it was dang good! My wife loved here chicken fried steak, said it was one of the best she's had, ever!! Don't let the name or the look of the place (with it looking like a bar first) scare you off. Many would say that if you happen to pass through Ennis, Mt you should stop at this bar. I recommend that you go out of your way to stop at this bar. We have traveled the country and met many amazing people and enjoyed many wonderful places; none compared to the atmosphere created by this incredible town and of course Big Mamma. Thank you Big Mamma for a wonderful experience. You didn't know it at the time but my wife and I were dealing with the loss of our long time pet and just wanted to get out and relax for a bit. We ate in the restaurant section, behind the bar - I've eaten at the best steakhouses in Chicago, New York, San Fransisco . . . . this place has a FANTASTIC steak.
