First of all, riding a chairlift to a restaurant is a cool experience. Secondly, the hostess and bar staff are cheerful and helpful, albeit very busy. We were a table of seven with reservations on a Thursday night in February. We got seated at the bar, which made conversation for our group tough but we agreed to it. Not ideal but ok. We shared some appetizers and each had a drink. The food was good, pricey and presented nicely. I can't say it was the best meal I've had in that price range, taste wise, but I'm sure the prices are higher due to the location. The views were amazing, the ambiance was lovely. We had two servers, Adam ( or some other short A name) and Madi. He was friendly, helpful but super busy. She was a delight! We love to take visiting family to see the Enchanted lights and then stop at the Everett's bar to grab a cocktail. But the bartender was as unfriendly as they come, we had a party of 7, and his interactions or lack there of, made us decide to leave after the first drink. Sometimes staff doesn't belong where customer service is needed. And the cocktails were not that good. We stopped at another bar where they welcomed us with friendly smiles and great cocktails. Major disappointment . While I get that dining on the mountain comes with a premium, the quality didn't come close to justifying the insanely high prices. I ordered the $40 wagyu burger, expecting something substantial, but the meat was barely larger than a slider, and only topped with sauteed onions. Friend 1 had the chili, which was not only slopped into a bowl with no cheese or onions, but the portion was ridiculously small--definitely not enough to fill you up. Friend 2 went for the lobster and crab sandwich, but it was more like a basic club than a high-end seafood sandwich. Friend 3 had a salad. It was dressed well but was basically just lettuce - no option for a protein. All portions were way too small for the price. Not worth your time or money. Message to restaurant: You are feeding skiers--they're expecting something filling, not "appetizer" sizes. On a positive note: the wait staff was really nice and attentive. read more

My group of 5 had a great experience at Everett's! Our server Jenny was great and checked on us the perfect amount. Food came out at the right pace for an unrushed meal. All our food & drinks were delicious. They were running low on 2 entrees but everyone in our group had a great meal. My one slight critique is I had the pumpkin gnocchi: they tasted amazing & I'm glad I ordered them, but they were a significantly smaller dish than any of the meat dishes my group ordered, so I was finished faster than the others. Serving the burrata on pesto was creative and playful, and the turbot was technical perfection: the crispiest we'd ever had. Waited out front right as they opened at 11 AM, and was the first group of 4 in. Had no reservation and asked if walk in was available. Hostess said sorry we are fully booked but you can have drinks at the bar. I open my phone and go to open table and there were tons of reservations open right at 11:15 AM and on. I booked it right in front of her and said sorry we just can't see the availability on our end. Then, we sat down excited for the non fixed menu they had gotten such bad reviews on, when ordering, I wanted to get the market greens salad and asked if I could add a protein. Had lunch today with my husband and three sons. We've been going there since they opened. They turned into a prefix menu. $155 or $255. Your only choices... kids were starving after we left...not worth it, we will wait till they revamp before we go back. It's very unfortunate they changed their lunch menu to only 2 tasting menu, one being $155 and the second being north of $200 per person. Per the workers, they are switching to 'fine dining'. Not sure if service as slow as a snail and food that does not even compare to the price they are charging is 'fine dining'. We loved coming here when they had an a la carte menu where we can just pop in for a quick lunch and drink (still pricey). Just too bad and very disappointing. At least get the service right and have the food up to par with the $$$$ they charge. Also, they charge people who are not skiing $45 to get on the tram to get to the restaurant which is a bit ridiculous IMO. Probably the best restaurant we've been to at the Big Sky Resort! Great experience, delicious food, and what a view! I recommend booking in advance. If you do though, you'd have to book with your credit card -- there is a $25 per person charge for no shows and cancellations within 24 hours. For starters, we had the Morel Mushrooms - red wine cream demi, baguette, $25. I highly recommend trying this if you like mushrooms. The morel mushrooms were deliciously cooked and the red wine cream demi was spoon licking good! The baguette was nicely buttered. This dish went well with my glass of wine -- Paul Achs, Blaufrankisch Heideboden, Burgenland 2016, $17 on the menu, but $19 on my receipt?! (The wine by itself was too dry. I prefer a full bodied wine for sipping). Other drink we ordered was Black Forest - Sudden Wisdom Rye Whisky, Chocolate Bitters, Blackberry, Blood Orange, $18. I recommend this cocktail! So good and not too sweet (don't forget to mix before you drink!). For soup, we had: Elk Chili - Chive, crème fraiche crouton, $10 (for cup). I thought it was odd to have chili under soup section, but it had more of a thick soup consistency that the usual chili I'd expect. Unfortunately, I didn't get to taste this, but was told it was good....a bit salty, but good. French Onion Soup - onion, shallot, beef stock, crostini, raciette, $16. Good soup. For entrees: Waygu Burger - Brioche, tomato bacon jam, arugula, raciette, house sauce, fries, $30. I didn't get to try this, but was told it was very good! 8800 Grilled Cheese - Brioche, confit tomato, frisee, smoked cheddar, raciette, prosciutto, fries, $22. An elevated grilled cheese (see picture)! Filet Mignon Au Poivre - Brandy cream, root vegetable, confit fingerling, $65. Good tasting Filet Mignon. I asked for medium rare, but should've asked for medium. It was too rare for my liking. The root vegetable was good too, but was a bit undercooked for my taste. Fingerling was good as well. For dessert, we shared a Chocolate Torte - toasted meringue, hazelnut crumble, raspberry sauce. Very good! Not too sweet nor heavy (but then again we did split it 3 ways). Service was great! Ambience with the view was memorable! I highly recommend at least trying this place once. read more

Besides the great skiing, our dinner at Everett's was the highlight of our Big Sky trip. To get there you take the heated ski lift to the top of the mountain. Once there the views and ambiance are great. We arrived a bit early and the hostess suggested we tour the enchanted forest which was a great and fun addition to our dinner experience. My wife had the lobster ravioli which I was hesitant about since Montana isn't know for seafood but we both agreed it was the best we had ever tried. I had the duck cassoulet and I can't speak highly enough about it. Overall one of the best dinners and overall dinner experiences we have ever had. read more

First of all, I am extremely afraid of heights, but my family are all skiers and convinced me to board the Ramcharger 8 and get up the mountain. I prepared for this for days in advance doing guided meditation and breathing exercises. I convinced myself that if I attempted this extreme challenge (for me), I would deserve the best meal of my trip to Big Sky. Was I wrong... My oysters were fresh and sweet until I found a tiny little live crab moving around in my oyster. I guess that means they are fresh oysters, but it makes me wonder why they weren't cleaned better. I sent the baby crab back with the waitress who said that this had happened before. Hmmm... On to my steelhead trout meuniere minus the meuniere sauce. The trout was overcooked and was doused in a "mushroom ragout" which was supposed to come on their burger, not the fish. My sister-in-law also ordered the dish and had the same problems. When I asked the server about it, she said that that is how the kitchen serves it. I explained that a meuniere sauce is a brown butter, lemon, and parsley sauce. She proceeded to bring more of this hunter's gravy (German Jager gravy) for us, but neither of us liked or wanted it. After everyone was finished eating (we all left food on the plate and all left disappointed), I explained to our server that the fish was inedible for me and the s-i-l. She took the plates away, and eventually a manager came to the table to bring us complementary meringue cookies and asked if we wanted to replace the fish dishes. The kitchen was already closed for the evening, and we had two kids to get home. We just did our best to eat off other people's plates and get out of there. (Yes, the kids have a refined palate for food like this.) The manager took off the two fish dishes, but, MAN, was I disappointed. I had anxiety for days and a half-panic attack going up the mountain to get a live tiny crab in my oysters and a few bites of overcooked fish (so, no entree). Well, at least I won't have to conquer my fear of the Ramcharger 8 ever again. What a waste... read more

High-end restaurant at the top of the 8-pack lift at Big Sky. Being the host here has to be a terrible job, since your main activity is turning people who don't have reservations away. We thought we could outsmart this by lining up at 10:50 the next day, just to find out that they had closed the high-top section. Thankfully, we grabbed the last three seats remaining at the bar. The food is really good, and sitting in a bar with 0 noise at your back, due to the empty high-top section, is pretty special. They need to put up a sign outside to keep people informed of what's going on here. We saw so many frustrated people who had already started taking their gear off before approaching the stand. We particularly loved the hamachi crudo, gnudi, burger and hazelnut desert. Service was impeccable too! If you are looking for a bougie lunch on the mountain this is THE place and not to be missed. You must have reservations (or be willing to put up with a wait of more than an hour). The big picture window framing lone peak is amazing - so impressive and jaw dropping beautiful. The setting is light wooden beams with elk antler chandeliers and classy decor all around. The cauliflower sandwich is meh, but the grilled cheese with prosciutto and garlic Parmesan fries is delightful! Burger also excellent. We also had the apple strudel for dessert which made us extra full but was worth it! Service is friendly and professional. The restaurant is at the top of the Ramcharger lift which can take pedestrians, but is designed for skiers and boarders. But note, you're eating mid-mountain so don't be surprised if it's cold on the way up - it's Montana! read more

The "Wagyu" burger was a joke....cafeteria hockey puck! Cold bun, cold fries and literally grade C burger meat. The Onion soup was fine, the Bison chili was lukewarm and so so. The 8800 Club sandwich (Lobster/Crab) was drowned by avocado and underwhelming. I expect high prices on the mountain, but good food in return. 8800 did NOT deliver and needs to reassess the food execution. This does not hold a candle to the food at other top notch mountain resort restaurants in North America. read more

They needed rest, and I didn't want to make them put their gear back on, but I wasn't happy about paying $155 for a four-course lunch. First and foremost the waitress the hostess and everyone at the front working is amazing. Nothing to do with them. The place is built on top of the mountain you would think they built a heating system capable of heating it and they failed miserably. Every person in that restaurant asked for blankets- it was embarrassing. Imagine shivering being uncomfortable and paying premium bucks! Also the food was ehhhhhhh. The rib eye was good but the potatoes were stale, the lobster ravioli was not even hot and the pasta was crumbly and stale like with no flavor. The huckleberry CRUMB CAKE. Who doesn't appreciate the touch of adventure involved in riding a lift to a gorgeous restaurant on the mountain, knowing you get to snowboard back down afterwards.. The view was spectacular and the cocktails were on point. Even the leek & wild mushroom soup with crispy onion garnish was unique and wonderful. But THE highlight of our visit was our server, Laurel. So much so that we came back the next day! She was the perfect combination of professional, attentive and personable. This place was delightful. We got the steak, it was delicious! Our waitress was very kind and polite. Our other waiter, Greg, was very fun and informative about the food and drinks. The location and view were beautiful! This restaurant was the highlight of our trip, other than skiing. Although, the Bistro Burger is not a good pick for kids because of the Gorgonzola, everything else was more than satisfactory. The prices were spendy but everything was worth it! Came back two years later - now they are only open over lunch. We had to make our lunch booking 3 mos in advance. We were able to ski in, and the nonskiiers in our party were able to ride the lift up (after obtaining a lift ticket for non-skiiers). Service was notably improved this time around. We ate here twice during the last week and had good experiences both times. I had the foie gras the first time that were sadly out of the second which is a very unique presentation--They make it into a candle and melt it over the beef, creating a very rich and amazing sauce for it. It is a rich app but not one that leaves you unable to eat the rest of the meal to be sure. For mains, we tried the walleye (amazing!) and the bison (normal and tenderloin); you cant go wrong with any of them. We enjoyed them all tremendously. On the dessert side, the zookie pie is good but I wish it was a giant cookie rather than two normal cookies warmed up in the skillet. They could also use more salt (a common complaint I have with most cookie skillets) but its not a bad end to the meal. We had a few cocktails both times--the swiss negroni and french and spanish 75s. The french was a bit too citrus forward but the spanish was an interesting twist. The whiskey selection is really nice so if you tend that way, you will not be disappointed. Its a fun ride up and back but make sure you dress warmly as those heated seats on the bubble dont help too much if you are only wearing jeans! read more
