I had a great time watching the World Cup here! (So, NOT ski season obv). Really attentive service! Since it's Big Sky, the prices were definitely high, but I was really impressed with the delicious BLT I had. A simple sandwich, but it was really elevated with thick, delicious bacon, so you felt like you were at least getting something special for your money. Also, the side salad I had was so fresh with a great variety of vegetables, and I was able to order an interesting house made parsley vinaigrette. opinion from a local: Food is not what it used to be. I came in here and the quality of the food has taken a dive off the deep end with no water in the pool. As soon as this new management agency Apres Cru took over; Tips Up went down hill. The charm is gone. Thebartenders and servers are no longer allowed to hangout with their friends off the clock at Tips or the other two establishments that Apres Cru runs. It's quite disheartening to walk into Tips now and know for 100% certain our friends who work there cannot enjoy it with us. Apres Cru has managed to turn a beloved (by locals, tourists, and passerbys) bar in Big Sky to a corporate nutcase that FEELS corporate and no longer feels like a real fun place or real bar. Now it feels like a glorified buffalo wild wings. While I love some B-Dubs, I love Tips Up much more. Recently since Apres Cru took over, private events run the pool table, more covers on events than ever before, and again, lack of social energy as the staff would come hangout and brina additional cheer. Apres Cru has managed to turn a beloved (by locals, tourists, and passerbys) bar in Big Sky to a corporate nutcase that FEELS corporate and no longer feels like a real fun place or real bar. It's astonishing for a company to come in and think they know best without any input from those already working there or locals in the area. Big Sky has a fragile community balance and a company affecting us like this really jeopardizes the balance. Tips Up is the only bar on this side of town that manages to speak to all ages and backgrounds. Not just the upper scale of places like waypoint (Even waypoint manages a local feeling and their drinks, price points, and atmosphere is absolutely not that or a ski town sports bar.) I'd understand if the staff was being ridiculous or unprofessional but through many examples i have witnessed each of them showcase professionalism off the clock. Even going as far as helping remove heinous people from the bar just because their coworkers appeared stressed or ready to get a person out. They've removed locals cards, hiked prices on drafts and other drinks, don't allow their staff (the locals) to be apart of the bar scene off of work, and contributed to the destruction of our local community. I cannot count how many times this season I myself have left or have witnessed people leave due to this new company. It is simply no longer the same energy and it brings much sadness to us here. Nearly finished - they refuse to hire anyone. new whilst their staff very obviously struggles someday managing everything. I went in one day and there was 1 bartender and 1 server for the entire inside room and outside patio. if you've never been, that's a lot of steps during a lunch rush. Additionally, each table can hold a full family. Yet they refuse to hire anyone else to support their staff. All in all, the staff is still lovely. I adore each of them and am aware none of this is their fault. it's ANOTHER company coming into our town and trying to "fix" what isn't broke. The most ironic part of this is when Apres Cru came to town, someone told them, "Don't turn our Big Sky into your New York" "Oh trust us, we don't plan on it. We love the charm of this town" That was in November of 2025. Irony is a funny thing. if you're in Big Sky, give some sympathy to the staff for what they have to deal with. Tip the staff well for their troubles and then consider not giving your money to this disgraceful corporation. Ok in the area all restaurants are expensive. I get it, but the experience should be better. Service was just ok. Waitress did not know the menu and did not bring things that were ordered. I walked in to a quiet restaurant and bar around 7:15pm, though most bar seats were filled. I sat just in front of the bar at a high top table. There were several people talking and drinking at the service bar. I assume one or more were staff. I waited about 5 minutes for someone to greet me at the table or even acknowledge me. Came here for drinks as it's one of only a few bars in the big sky city center. It was really busy early. My friends and I wanted to get a pitcher of beer however they said they don't do pitchers on the weekend. However, many people at the bar already at pitchers. DJ was also alright - not playing the greatest music. Small dance floor in the front but they can't move the tables. read more

We had a great time at this bar while in Big Sky! It's quite large with a fair amount of seating. It still got packed quickly, and it took us a while to find a table that opened up big enough to fit our group. The server was really helpful, and I was surprised they even have gluten-free options here! I wasn't hungry, so I just ordered a bunch of snacks like fish n chips, tots, and fries for the table.. and they were a hit! I could have had a gf burger and bun though if I had been in the mood. Despite being busy,our server was really attentive on our drink needs. I enjoyed a hot toddy, many in our group indulged in the ski shots and local beer! Pretty damn good! I've been hearing all the rage about tips up spicy chicken sandwich! And I have to say I understand the hype. I love coming here primarily for a little extra night life, but the first time I ate here the food was really good a friend of mine. Also ordered the burger and, we really enjoyed the food and the service. Tips up is decked in sports memorabilia, including skis and snowboards. It's such a fun hangout spot to be able to enjoy the menu along with the atmosphere really makes it a great place to stop in town center. Stopped in with my family while in Big Sky. We were looking forward to the visit as this place seemed like a cool spot. Instantly taken back by the waitresses unfriendly nature, as she was speaking to me but not looking in my direction or really responding when I replied. The feeling was we were putting her out by being there. I watched the other waiter and he seemed friendly so not sure what the deal was with her. Happy hour parm Fries and totchos -a hit for all ages, local Montana beer for $4 bucks-warm chicken sammys and delicious burgers all around (plus a much needed fresh salad for mom after eating road trip fare!) The food was absolutely vile. Im a local and have lived in Big Sky for 9 years now. When the restaurant opened it was amazing- great atmosphere, great food, overall just a great restaurant. Now the food has gone up in price and down in quality. The chicken tenders and fries taste freezer burnt and the burger tastes like raw fish seasoned with dishwater and pepper. After a long, fun yet exhausting day at Yellowstone we parked it here. Well because we needed beer something bad...and they had fried chicken sandwiches. We weren't disappointed! Its a seat yourself place and has a chill vibe and awesome decor AND THEY HAD A CHANNEL WITH JUST BOB ROSS ON. Amazing. Our waitress was cool...a little aloof but that seemed to be the vibe she was going for. Overall she took great care of us and let us know where to get some chapstick so plus plus. We had the Strange Cattle Hazy IPA which truly hit the spot & I also had a Moscow Mule that was great as well. Didn't wait too long for our beers and food but we came around 5:30pm. Looked like a band was getting set up but we didn't stay long enough to hear them because exhaustion had hit us pretty hard. They looked pretty hip though. Get them tasty cheese curds. Just do it, then thank me later in the comments. We DESTROYED them and the buffalo ranch sauce that went with them was perfect. The spicy chicken sammies were dope as well. Real big so if you're a petty eater split it with someone. My friend got the loaded tots with chicken on top. She like them but said if you're getting chicken just get the sandwich. I'll start off by saying their customer service is non-existent. When you walk in you're greeted by a sign that says "please seat yourself", which my family and I did. There were two other families that came in and where attended to quickly. They were served drinks, we had to service ourselves water from the dispenser. I gave the waitress three go arounds before I asked her "Do we wait to order or do we go some where like the bar to order?" And her reply was that they're short staffed then walked away. After that we made eye contact several times but within the 25-30 mins of waiting she never serviced us even though we were on her half of the zone. She never said she would be with us shortly to take our orders, or even ask if we wanted anything to drink. The two families after us were greeted and serviced soft drinks & beer. Really disappointed for the cold shoulder we were given, it was clear my family and I were not wanted in the establishment. So we left. read more
