Arrived at 11:30am to pick up an order, doors are locked. Persistent knocking got an employee to the door with an annoyed look on her face, only to learn that they aren't opening until noon. No note on the door, just a curt comment and she was gone. Rudeness is not a good look for customer service. read more

Love this store in Rockville. Great friendly customer service well organized has everything you could ever dream of! Tons of parking and they carry the Kon Mari line. I enjoy coming to the container store to get inspiration to better organize my home. With this being said it is not my go to choice to buy those items because of the price of their items. For example they had a shower liquid dispenser for $80 that on amazon I can get for $20. When they reopened in phase 2, they were allowed 40+ people into the store based on regulations (1 person for every 200 square ft). Customers could only come in when staff told allowed them which is fair but because the staff did not pay attention when people where leaving there were only 4 people in the store at once while a line wrapped around the whole building. The staff forgot to let customers waiting know they were allowed to come inside once another customer left. We waited an hour to enter with less than 10 people in front of us in line but others did wait over 2 hours. This is not a compliant on COVID regulations but on how the staff is handling the situation. Communicate with your customers and let them know their wait time for example and keep a steady flow by noticing when people leave after they checked out. read more

I love the huge selection of storage boxes, bins, travel accessories and--of course--containers but the customer service has been quite sour or indifferent lately, especially at the register...I don't feel happy just having a receipt handed to me at the end of a transaction. I also had a strange interaction with an associate who talked me out of buying a pricey (but beautiful!) item...I was ok not having the item but she assumed a few things which I didn't appreciate...or maybe I didn't explain something clearly...whatever! It was just strange. Ultimately I'm glad I didn't spend the money on the item...but it also made me want to return the item I did end up buying! Because I found a less expensive version at another store later (at half the price). I literally live for the container store! Mostly for their clear shoe boxes. It makes organizing my closet a breeze and it also just looks amazing! I came to this location about 2 weeks ago so they had just brought out all their Christmas gift wrapping paper, boxes, ribbons, etc! And wow did they sure have an amazing selection! I usually stop at home-goods, target or even the dollar store for all my holiday gift wrapping needs but The Container Store will be my new go to for this. This container store is a little small in comparison. I'm used to the one in Tyson's Corner which is huge and has just about everything. They also seemed to be running low on a lot. I will say whomever chooses their clothes for their mock closets has some seriously good taste. I always want to ask if I can just the clothes from there! I mean seriously, so cute! Where do they get them from? The lines are always super long so be prepared. While you wait however you can pick up quick trinkets such as books on how to organize and de clutter your home or things you would never think of like an iPhone/headphone cord holder so they won't tangle. Sometimes waiting in line is my favorite part lol The location of this store is the best because it's next to a ton of other stores such as Neiman Marcus last call, saks on fifth, Ulta, just to name a few. Don't get me wrong. I love the container store but I've been here twice during pandemic and it seems like the might be understaffed. When I came back in May/June they were limiting people in the store so you had to wait in line for a while outside. The aisles were marked so people could only go down one way. This past weekend when I went there was no line outside and it looked like the floor markers were removed. The store itself didn't feel overly crowded but when I went to get in line I was shocked that it literally went from the front of the store to the very back of the store. We waited about 10 min ( it looked longer than it was because of social distancing). Only 2 or 3 registers were open. This was the case at another location I went to in VA recently. Anyways, I was able to find most of what I was looking for and will have to get the rest online. read more

We don't have a Container Store in Baltimore, so I stopped by this location in Rockville with a friend when were were in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase/Rockville area to run some other errands. I love the Container Store. For a Type A person who dreams of being organized, it's a dream store! This location has probably seen better days, but it was still well organized (you'd hope, right?) and well stocked. The checkout line was pretty long on a Saturday afternoon, but it moved pretty fast! I'll probably try the Annapolis location next since that's a bit closer, but this is an okay, average Container Store location. read more

We come here regularly to browse around and find some things we didn't know existed. They are in a large strip mall so there are food and drinks in the same area. There are clothing outlets here too. The parking is always free. I haven't never been here where the parking was full so that's good. The Poppin collection that they have for office decor and organization is great and I really like their things. If you know this brand and know what they carry then this place is an easy get in and get out situation. You would have to adjust your expectations in terms of customer service though. This is a big place. There are public bathrooms. Just don't expect a sales person to help you along the way and don't expect them to be around everywhere in the store. Checkout can get backed up sometimes when there are 1-2 people ringing people up, but nothing egregious. Overall, this place serves its purpose in a stress less way. read more

This store... is like a wonderland to me. Every time I'm in the Rockville/DC area, I MUST make a stop here. Obviously, they sell containers... but you must understand. They sell containers for EVERYTHING!!! If u have something and don't know how to store it, Container Store does. If you have a 'little something' that you think isn't really big enough to put in something, Container Store disagrees... bc they've created something for it. Their designers think of EVERYTHING! And if it hasn't been created, I'm sure they'd be open to suggestions. I am blown away with some of the things they have in there. I'm ALWAYS like, 'Ohhhhhh. This would be perfect for my... *fill in the blank*. Example: you know how you all have bottles (lotion, shampoo, ketchup, BBQ sauce, etc.), and when we get to end, there's always more product in those corners or stuck on the bottom that u just can't get out? I've always ordered online from here and each time I received an item I never realized how much more I needed whatever I ordered. If you are into storage, being neat and organization this is the place for you. The store is huge and was pretty busy. I realize I should have gone here with measurements in hand so that I could make better decisions. This place actually overwhelmed me and that doesn't happen often. Also beware of the quantities of items listed online as being in stock. For one item, the webpage showed 3 in stock and I saw 2 in the store. I just lovvvvvvvve everything about the place! Prices are great, selections are plenty, customer service was great. Take your time. Don't get overwhelmed and focus. My husband and I love this store because of the quality of their products. This was our second time shopping in the store and we spent about $200 plus. We purchased an item for our pantry and because we saw that it was on sale, we bought 6 of them including the other items we got. When we got home, I discovered that we were charged a full price on the receipt and not the sale price. When I called the store, the lady who answered just said "I am sorry ma'am I just fixed the items and it was placed on the wrong shelf. It was only certain colors that were on sale." Clearly this is not our fault and the sign should've been a lot clearer. When I called back I asked to speak to a manager however the lady who answered told me that the manager was busy and that she was going to give me a call back. I gave my contact information and my name and it's already been almost one week and I still have not heard from them. This is definitely not a very good customer service. I hope that this will not happen again in the future and I will reconsider shopping in the store again. Thank you. read more

This store is woefully understaffed, and I sincerely hope that the management adds 1-2 more staff per shift. While the products are good, the experience in this particular store is not. The customer service is extremely unresponsive. I went to the store on Friday, and I simply could not get help -- not enough to make an appointment. I came again on Sunday with an appointment, but it was 1/2 of an hour before someone could work with me. Again, the products are good, but if you're paying top dollar for it (to be clear, you are!), you expect good customer service and support alongside it. read more

Container Store is one of those places that I know walking in, that there is an excellent chance I will walk out with a lot less money in my wallet. I have run in there for jars, containers (duh!!), food storage things, organization things, and who knows what else. Needless to say, I always find it there. Also, Elfa. If I were poetic I would write an ode to Elfa. But, alas, I am not so I shall spare you. I have gone in a few times to purchase Elfa and each time, the staff is patient and listens to your needs. I love that it is designed around your needs. I then take the design home, stare it, and make changes. My parents put it in my closet when I was a kid after I destroyed the Closetmaid due to my disastrous organization skills (namely, shoving everything in the closet and using my entire body to close the doors) and it was indestructible then. It has made my pantry go from chaotic mess to fully organized (who is this woman who owns this home?!?!). My newest project? A linen closet and a wall unit to organize work stuff. While they do offer installation, I find it to be absurdly priced when Elfa is so easy to install. Overall, I wish it were a bit less expensive, but I am always thankful for the sales they have. read more

This place is amazing. Courteous staff that is always willing to help locate items and make suggestions. I have a new RV and needed some storage solutions for small, not linear spaces and they let me load my cart and take two items out at a time to the rig to see if it fit. I was there from 10 AM until 2 PM and got many items I needed. I still have 2 awkward spaces to fit so I will be going back. Prices can be steep though and you'll likely get a better deal somewhere else. (e.g. Amazon.com, Ikea, Homegoods, etc.) It's easy to spend an hour roaming around the store to check out all the cool gadgets! You'll find anything & everything to help you get your stuff organized. This store makes me want to organize my entire life. My goal is to get my house to resemble one of their displays (one day...) But my favorite part of this store is the endless array of gadgets and things that I didn't know I needed. During my last visit, I was looking for a device that I'd seen at the store before (but not in a long while). It's essentially a skinny spatula that helps you get the last bit lip gloss from the corners of the tube. I called the store ahead of time to see if they had them in stock this time. It was just my luck that they did. I got my skinny spatula and was in and out of there in no time. I appreciated them checking for me to make sure that they had it in stock. read more

I requested the closet organizer to give me an estimate for my new unit, and the first question was did I own the unit? When I told the manager I did not, but the owner was allowing me to make improvements and was doing so as we spoke, and that I can obtain further approval for the Container Store to access the unit, the manager told me they would not do so, but after many requests for the manager to explain the reason, she could not, and would not, tell me. I pressed further and asked if could they just come and measure and give me a quote, but not install until I owned the unit, I received the same nonsensical response with no rationale. Bought an elfa system from this store. The system is good overall but had to make more than 4 separate trips because of missing parts, errors with the order, and issues with the pickup. The store staff are helpful but they are severely understaffed, so they are stretched thin and make mistakes. My first visit took over 3 hours to place an order, my second was 1h 45 min to amend the order and i didnt get the issue resolved. Multiple issues with the pickup that i wont even get into and wont even count as visit. third was 1.5 hours to get missing parts, and two more were 1 hour each to get the remaining missing parts. This is not normal. The customer experience in the store is very poor, and this based on visits that occurred during the weekend and also during non rush hour like middle of the week...tried to reach out to store manager Mary Burke but no response. Word of advice, go to a different store. read more

I have had two bad experiences with the Night Manager Aelisa & recently Nigel. I went to return two Jars 2x's that were not returned back for requested Store Credit. However, in-between sessions a telephone call was made to the Cotporate Office in Coppell, Texas where after speaking with two persons there, it was determined that these two Containers fit the criteria for a Return & one was acknowledged for Store Credit, the other one was not identified at that time as "defective" but later was brought up with the same criteria as before & should had been accepted as a Return. This was denied again. These Staff are not reasonable to deal with. read more
