I never met a Container Store that I didn't like. I used to enjoy getting their huge plastic bags. They could fit a king sized comforter. They no longer carry plastic bags in Maryland. There are great blue shopping bags in a variety of sizes. The emphasis is mostly dorm rooms and getting a student organized. They still have the wonderful Elfa closet items and kitchen items. I love the office supplies (Dollar Tree also carries the zippered envelopes). There used to be a larger variety of tiny items that could hold earrings, pins or pills. Now the selection is limited. The front display areas still have creative items for storage or fun. If you need clear storage bins for shoes, clothes and other treasures, there are varied sized. The large bag on wheels is great for groceries or other shopping. There is something for everyone. read more

There is a lot of hype about Bed, Bath, and Beyond joining The Container Store, so I wanted to check them out and see for myself. Truthfully, I didn't see any real difference in the store. Maybe, a few more sheet sets, but nothing earth shattering. I looked up Bed, Bath, and Beyond to see if I could get one of their famous coupons, but you have to spend over $100 to get one. Did I find what I wanted? Sort of...I was looking for an under the bead storage container. I found it. Is it worth a look... definitely...check them out. But, I will say they only had one person at the checkout line, so it took a while. We will see if anything changes during the fall holidays. I do wish The real Bed, Bath, and Beyond was back in business. It was more like Container Store with a twist. : ) read more

Got a good deal on these containers. They were ($ each. The problem is that they break waaaaay too easy. They definitely keep your sneakers organized when you have too many like I do. read more

Arrived at 11:30am to pick up an order, doors are locked. Persistent knocking got an employee to the door with an annoyed look on her face, only to learn that they aren't opening until noon. No note on the door, just a curt comment and she was gone. Rudeness is not a good look for customer service. read more

I enjoy coming to the container store to get inspiration to better organize my home. With this being said it is not my go to choice to buy those items because of the price of their items. For example they had a shower liquid dispenser for $80 that on amazon I can get for $20. When they reopened in phase 2, they were allowed 40+ people into the store based on regulations (1 person for every 200 square ft). Customers could only come in when staff told allowed them which is fair but because the staff did not pay attention when people where leaving there were only 4 people in the store at once while a line wrapped around the whole building. The staff forgot to let customers waiting know they were allowed to come inside once another customer left. We waited an hour to enter with less than 10 people in front of us in line but others did wait over 2 hours. This is not a compliant on COVID regulations but on how the staff is handling the situation. Communicate with your customers and let them know their wait time for example and keep a steady flow by noticing when people leave after they checked out. read more

Lots of this and loads of that! Organize your space, your life, your room, your home... From shelving to nifty containers to storage to cookware to so so so much more. Some things a bit pricey, but good quality. Staff - a little "meh" - like they can't wait to leave when shift ends... read more

I literally live for the container store! Mostly for their clear shoe boxes. It makes organizing my closet a breeze and it also just looks amazing! I came to this location about 2 weeks ago so they had just brought out all their Christmas gift wrapping paper, boxes, ribbons, etc! And wow did they sure have an amazing selection! I usually stop at home-goods, target or even the dollar store for all my holiday gift wrapping needs but The Container Store will be my new go to for this. This container store is a little small in comparison. I'm used to the one in Tyson's Corner which is huge and has just about everything. They also seemed to be running low on a lot. I will say whomever chooses their clothes for their mock closets has some seriously good taste. I always want to ask if I can just the clothes from there! I mean seriously, so cute! Where do they get them from? The lines are always super long so be prepared. While you wait however you can pick up quick trinkets such as books on how to organize and de clutter your home or things you would never think of like an iPhone/headphone cord holder so they won't tangle. Sometimes waiting in line is my favorite part lol The location of this store is the best because it's next to a ton of other stores such as Neiman Marcus last call, saks on fifth, Ulta, just to name a few. Love it! read more

Great customer service. Almost as good as Pier 1's customer service--almost! I picked up some storage containers that I had ordered online. Super easy transaction, limited wait in line, cashier efficient and knowledgeable, and even honored a coupon. Would definitely return! read more

The Container Store - I bought this a few years ago from Goodwill for $10! I didn't know it was from this store. $52 currently.... - Home Organization Near Me - Rockville, Maryland

I love the huge selection of storage boxes, bins, travel accessories and--of course--containers but the customer service has been quite sour or indifferent lately, especially at the register...I don't feel happy just having a receipt handed to me at the end of a transaction. I also had a strange interaction with an associate who talked me out of buying a pricey (but beautiful!) item...I was ok not having the item but she assumed a few things which I didn't appreciate...or maybe I didn't explain something clearly...whatever! It was just strange. Ultimately I'm glad I didn't spend the money on the item...but it also made me want to return the item I did end up buying! Because I found a less expensive version at another store later (at half the price). Still I think the things here are excellent quality and I've found some cool things at reasonable prices...a place worth shopping at carefully.... read more

They have a lot under one roof and the prices are more similar to in line stores than I first thought.

Don't get me wrong. I love the container store but I've been here twice during pandemic and it seems like the might be understaffed. When I came back in May/June they were limiting people in the store so you had to wait in line for a while outside. The aisles were marked so people could only go down one way. This past weekend when I went there was no line outside and it looked like the floor markers were removed. The store itself didn't feel overly crowded but when I went to get in line I was shocked that it literally went from the front of the store to the very back of the store. We waited about 10 min ( it looked longer than it was because of social distancing). Only 2 or 3 registers were open. This was the case at another location I went to in VA recently. Anyways, I was able to find most of what I was looking for and will have to get the rest online. read more

We don't have a Container Store in Baltimore, so I stopped by this location in Rockville with a friend when were were in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase/Rockville area to run some other errands. I love the Container Store. For a Type A person who dreams of being organized, it's a dream store! This location has probably seen better days, but it was still well organized (you'd hope, right?) and well stocked. The checkout line was pretty long on a Saturday afternoon, but it moved pretty fast! I'll probably try the Annapolis location next since that's a bit closer, but this is an okay, average Container Store location. read more

We come here regularly to browse around and find some things we didn't know existed. They are in a large strip mall so there are food and drinks in the same area. There are clothing outlets here too. The parking is always free. I haven't never been here where the parking was full so that's good. The Poppin collection that they have for office decor and organization is great and I really like their things. If you know this brand and know what they carry then this place is an easy get in and get out situation. You would have to adjust your expectations in terms of customer service though. This is a big place. There are public bathrooms. Just don't expect a sales person to help you along the way and don't expect them to be around everywhere in the store. Checkout can get backed up sometimes when there are 1-2 people ringing people up, but nothing egregious. Overall, this place serves its purpose in a stress less way. read more

This store... is like a wonderland to me. Every time I'm in the Rockville/DC area, I MUST make a stop here. Obviously, they sell containers... but you must understand. They sell containers for EVERYTHING!!! If u have something and don't know how to store it, Container Store does. If you have a 'little something' that you think isn't really big enough to put in something, Container Store disagrees... bc they've created something for it. Their designers think of EVERYTHING! And if it hasn't been created, I'm sure they'd be open to suggestions. I am blown away with some of the things they have in there. I'm ALWAYS like, 'Ohhhhhh. This would be perfect for my... *fill in the blank*. Example: you know how you all have bottles (lotion, shampoo, ketchup, BBQ sauce, etc.), and when we get to end, there's always more product in those corners or stuck on the bottom that u just can't get out? Sometimes, I cut the bottle to get it out...? Well, the Container Store has a doo-dad just for that... yup. I KNOW, RIIIIIIGHT?!?!? But they do. LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

Alas! Organized people of the world rejoice! The Container Store is honestly sent from (insert where you think amazing gifts come from). I walked into this location and I suddenly felt like someone finally understood me. The Container Store has everything us Yelp'ers could want when it comes to organizing. -Looking to redo your closet? Come here. -Looking to organize that messy cabinet? Come here. -Looking to spice up your office space? Come here. -Looking for extra fly storage? Come here. Seriously, any organization need you could desire can be taken care of at The Container Store. Ugh. Organized people of the world don't rejoice so loudly! While The Container Store is well organized and you'll find everything you need you won't find a deal. I can confidently say you will get a better deal at Target or on Amazon. I feel bad saying that because I am a huge fan of human interaction so buying online is a last resort for me. Another unfortunate thing about this location is it seems to be always busy. I swear, right when they open/ mid afternoon/ hour before closing... I've never been here when the line isn't towards the back of the store. I've actually had a cart full of great items and ended up putting everything back because I'm not about that thirty minute line life. What I've started doing is going to The Container Store for ideas, and then buying else where or buying from them online. It's seriously not worth the crowds and the high prices whenever I visit this location. This location could definitely work on speed or more employees to help decongestant the store and speed up the line. read more

I've always ordered online from here and each time I received an item I never realized how much more I needed whatever I ordered. If you are into storage, being neat and organization this is the place for you. The store is huge and was pretty busy. I realize I should have gone here with measurements in hand so that I could make better decisions. This place actually overwhelmed me and that doesn't happen often. Some things are pricey, but you more than likely will use the item for years to come. This place rocks. And I am a fan. I will be back with my notepad, measurements and more money to spend. Check the prices online before you go, and take a printout of the webpage. I bought two items today, and the prices in the store were higher than online. They let me pay the online prices. Also beware of the quantities of items listed online as being in stock. For one item, the webpage showed 3 in stock and I saw 2 in the store. For the other item, the webpage showed 2 in stock and I saw 1 in the store. And yes, I was looking at information online for the precise store I visited. read more

The checkout computers crashed, effectively not allowing any customers to make purchases.

Store is clean, has plenty of inventory, just wish there were more staff members on the floor that could help with questions.

Container Store is hands down the very best place when it comes to home organization ideas and solutions! It may, albeit, come at a cost. But if quality and convenience is what you desire, served with one of the best customer service, then head on to the Container Store and you will not be disappointed! As others have said, they have organization ideas and products that you never think off and just seeing the products you kinda need to have it pronto! My husband and I love this store because of the quality of their products. This was our second time shopping in the store and we spent about $200 plus. We purchased an item for our pantry and because we saw that it was on sale, we bought 6 of them including the other items we got. When we got home, I discovered that we were charged a full price on the receipt and not the sale price. When I called the store, the lady who answered just said "I am sorry ma'am I just fixed the items and it was placed on the wrong shelf. It was only certain colors that were on sale." Clearly this is not our fault and the sign should've been a lot clearer. When I called back I asked to speak to a manager however the lady who answered told me that the manager was busy and that she was going to give me a call back. I gave my contact information and my name and it's already been almost one week and I still have not heard from them. This is definitely not a very good customer service. I hope that this will not happen again in the future and I will reconsider shopping in the store again. Thank you. read more

This store is woefully understaffed, and I sincerely hope that the management adds 1-2 more staff per shift. While the products are good, the experience in this particular store is not. The customer service is extremely unresponsive. I went to the store on Friday, and I simply could not get help -- not enough to make an appointment. I came again on Sunday with an appointment, but it was 1/2 of an hour before someone could work with me. Again, the products are good, but if you're paying top dollar for it (to be clear, you are!), you expect good customer service and support alongside it. read more

Container Store is one of those places that I know walking in, that there is an excellent chance I will walk out with a lot less money in my wallet. I have run in there for jars, containers (duh!!), food storage things, organization things, and who knows what else. Needless to say, I always find it there. Also, Elfa. If I were poetic I would write an ode to Elfa. But, alas, I am not so I shall spare you. I have gone in a few times to purchase Elfa and each time, the staff is patient and listens to your needs. I love that it is designed around your needs. I then take the design home, stare it, and make changes. My parents put it in my closet when I was a kid after I destroyed the Closetmaid due to my disastrous organization skills (namely, shoving everything in the closet and using my entire body to close the doors) and it was indestructible then. It has made my pantry go from chaotic mess to fully organized (who is this woman who owns this home?!?!). My newest project? A linen closet and a wall unit to organize work stuff. While they do offer installation, I find it to be absurdly priced when Elfa is so easy to install. Overall, I wish it were a bit less expensive, but I am always thankful for the sales they have. read more

They have everything from closet organizers to lunch bags. Huge selection of kitchen, bathroom, bedroom & office organizers. Super friendly & attentive staff. Prices can be steep though and you'll likely get a better deal somewhere else. (e.g. Amazon.com, Ikea, Homegoods, etc.) It's easy to spend an hour roaming around the store to check out all the cool gadgets! You'll find anything & everything to help you get your stuff organized. I came here recently and bought a great insulated lunch bag & salad container for under $20. Now I can brown-bag it in style. read more

This store makes me want to organize my entire life. My goal is to get my house to resemble one of their displays (one day...) But my favorite part of this store is the endless array of gadgets and things that I didn't know I needed. During my last visit, I was looking for a device that I'd seen at the store before (but not in a long while). It's essentially a skinny spatula that helps you get the last bit lip gloss from the corners of the tube. I called the store ahead of time to see if they had them in stock this time. It was just my luck that they did. I got my skinny spatula and was in and out of there in no time. I appreciated them checking for me to make sure that they had it in stock. read more

Store had everything I was looking for. Still actively using everything I bought. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Stock was very low and staff was spectacularly unhelpful. When they asked what we were looking for, I said "we need a solution for all the bags of loose tea in the cabinet." I was told, "oh there are a bunch of things that might help with that in the kitchen section" and they walked away. If I wanted to pick out overpriced stuff with no guidance, I'd get it from Amazon. This place is amazing. Courteous staff that is always willing to help locate items and make suggestions. I have a new RV and needed some storage solutions for small, not linear spaces and they let me load my cart and take two items out at a time to the rig to see if it fit. Now that we're half way unpacked in our new house (yes, we moved in a year ago...your point?), we realized that we needed *organizational tools*. Now, we realize that there was several routes that we could have gone. We could have gotten canvas baskets from Target for $9.99 each. Or we could have gone to Bed Bath and Beyond and gotten large plastic bins for $12.99 each. But nope, that would have been too smart! If the government can run up a trillion dollar national debt, by all that is holy, we could too! So, we headed to Container Store...where we proceeded to buy canvas baskets for $15.99 and large plastic bins for $24.99. Were these baskets and bins better then what we could have gotten at Target or BB&B? Nope...in fact, I think they are identical - made in the same factory and QA'd by the same Inspector 7. OK. So it really wasn't deliberate on our parts to spend more for the exact some products...for whatever reason, our brains had a total freeze and we couldn't think of any other sane and inexpensive place to buy these items. Yes, we're dumb, but at least we recognize this about ourselves. Oh, and those overpriced baskets and bins? Yup...you guessed it, went unused for weeks and finally ended up in the basement with all the unpacked boxes. Organizing is hard work...we'll get to it when we get around to unpacking the rest of our boxes. Maybe. read more
