The Container Store is my go to place for bringing ideas to reality as a Do-It-Yourself type of person. You can (most of the time) find that organizational item you were looking for at a decent price point proportional to its quality. This day I was assisting a family member with some organizational and closet ideas. We had some approximate measurements of the layout from The Container Store website and ideas of how the closet should flow. Gold Star to Stacy!!! She was about to get off work but, politely let us know she would stay to answer any questions we had and we had many. As she addressed each concern, she produced a visual representation for the layout and informed us that The Container Store was currently offering 30% off items in the store including ELFA Closet systems. She calculated the approximate cost and my jaw hit the floor (literally). The cost was below what I thought it would be, plus I was kicking myself because I did a home remodel after The Big Texas Freeze in 2021 and used Closet Factory and they were great, but I could have saved thousands of dollars had I used ELFA Closet System for my needs. I asked for the in-home consultation to ensure we got the best measurements and use of space for our project and this is where she suggested Aaron. Aaron came out to the location looked at Stacy's rendition and used this as a template due to some space considerations onsite. In the end, he maximized additional space in the Master Bedroom closet and the money saved was enough to remodel two more closet spaces. He was always attentive to our needs and provided various ways to use the spaces in the future as needed. You can save a huge amount of money if you opt to do-it-yourself!!! They can deliver for $70 or you can pick up your order from either Post Oak or The Woodlands locations. I think the sale will be discontinued by 10/22 and prices of the product might increase also. Being transparent, this project included a Master Bedroom, Guest Bedroom and Office closet with a price tag of $3k and some change, BUT the return on investment will offset this and the potential in an increase of property value will have you smiling. read more

It's in a very busy location - the store inside was just as busy - but was well organized and the staff were quite helpful and friendly! The place has so many neat accessories and items that you need for everyday use. I find myself spending a lot of time in the store due to all of the interesting combinations you can get when it comes to organizational spaces. The vast selection enables one to have a very serendipitous shopping experience. I am in my swept into a place of euphoria when I shop at the container store. I have spent over $300 just for organizational spaces in one shopping experience and I can guarantee myself that anytime I come here I am looking at spending over $100, but easily could spend less while still feeling like I got what I necessarily was needing. I signed up for their pop! rewards and the employees are always friendly when it comes to that and address you by your name. During my last trip here, I bought a can dispenser for my La Croix in my fridge because I might drink way too many and now it looks way more organized in the dispenser. With that, I bought wine holders for inside the fridge. My shelves aren't equipped for wine bottles - they're just too tall. I could spend an hour plus in here but my son cut this visit short, but i will tell you, there is really so many awesome storage ideas, we get so many ideas that we can either figure out a way to do this ourselves, but occasionally we will make the purchase and skip the do it yourself project. so many ideas, but i will say, when you find yourself presented with so many different storage ideas, its hard to work towards that minimalist lifestyle. I came yesterday morning to pick up an order I bought online in store. I waited 10 minutes to get my stuff brought out to me (a man before me). You have to get in line at the register so she/he can call someone from the back to get it for you. Employees were very nice, no complaints. I was just unfortunate enough to get my car stalled when I was trying to leave. I come back in and ask the cashier if she could call someone to jump my car. She calls the manager and according to her, the manager did not want to spare any of her employees for like 5 minutes to jump a paying customer's car. I get that businesses have things to do, but you couldn't at least call security or anybody to come do it for me. So I try to see if security would come by and not one to be seen. I ended up having to call my insurance to get someone to jump my car and waited 40 minutes for someone to come. End story: If you happened to have your car stalled, don't expect anybody here to help you out. To the manager who was working today, you lost a customer. Even if you couldn't do anything yourself, you could have had the decency to find someone who could help me. read more

Order pickup service leaves much to be desired. Everywhere it says to not wait in line but you can't get anyone to help you if you stand at the register. It's really awkward standing around to wait for help. You're better off just going to your emailed receipt and notifying them electronically that you're there to pick up. I had to do that after waiting for 5 minutes and everyone in line was getting checked out while I just stood there at the front. And if you're older or not so techy then good luck trying to figure that out in the first place. read more

Very well organized store with super friendly employees who are also organized in their workflow. I only briefly stopped in to pick up some items I had ordered online. I was asked to type in my Pop Rewards phone number for the cashier to pull up my order. It took about 5 minutes for them to run to the back and retrieve my order, but I was able to shop around the cute office organization items near the front of the store in the meantime. My order was neatly packaged in a large bag and I signed my name to take my goodies home - overall very quick and easy process. read more

Do you ever avoid a store, because you know you'll spend all your money there? You might even spend someone else's money there (or your future money). I know for many that type of store may be shoes, clothes, or jewelry. For me, it's office supplies, organizational stuff, and gift supplies. Therefore... I LOVE The Container Store. I actually avoid going in there, because I know I will buy things I don't need just because they are cool. They have everything. Some of the items I often find useful: *coat hangers (the cool foamy padded kind to fancy wood ones) *packing and shipping supplies *travel items such as vacuum bags for clothes, luggage (I bought my eagle creek bag here), and lots of little travel accessories. *gift wrap paper - I love having a beautifully wrapped gift, and they've got tons of papers and other inventive ways to wrap something. I could go on and on about all the fun items in this store. I know, it's strange that one would like these items, but everyone has their own little quirks! I have always found the staff to be pleasant and friendly. They also do little demonstrations of how to pack stuff using different products. I love that there is tons of parking. I don't like that there are two areas of registers and I always seem to pick the slower one. read more

Epic failure every time. Long waits at the register day, night, weekends, no matter what. Employees not properly trained to call for backup, scheduling failures or inept management- who knows why. Doesn't matter, just needs to be fixed. Five minutes is completely inappropriate time to wait when employees stand and watch you and do nothing. 10 minutes is an even longer and inappropriate time, when it gets to 15, you wonder if they're going to turn the lights out on you before you get to pay for your merchandise. When I do speak to a manager I get uppity bitterness and attitude. No wonder this company is so highly rated by its employees, they're not responsible for doing anything. When management stands around doing absolutely nothing watching someone struggling doing a complicated return and shipment order, then serves up attitude instead of an apology, you wonder how long this company is going to be in business. Certainly, I understand it's difficult to hire good people, but most of the employees have been around for decades if not longer. Never, ever, again. read more

I finally pulled out all my costume jewelry to organize all my earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets and watches. Next was my trek to the Container Store to see what they offer and which trays I could find that would easily stack for convenience and space. There are quite a few options/sizes/colors/materials to select from small to large divided sections. I felt a bit overwhelmed because they did not have all selections in all the sizes/options I needed, so I asked for help. I got a young friendly and helpful employee, who checked for missing sizes in all my options. She finally asked me would these jewelry trays be set out in view or in a drawer where only I would see them. I told her the latter, so she recommended the clear plastic set which happens to be the most cost effective of all. What a deal! Thank you for such great service and for your suggestions. Houston's own CS stacks plenty of peices to tame our misc accumulations & collections for virtually any room - office, garage, bathroom. kitchen, utility, greatroom...I hoard hundreds of clothes & toys and too often I find "the solution" gleaming in this clean and spread store. I love to browse the store for a great update of nifty contraptions. Anyone with OCD will probably gush about the fun finds. Wrapaholics will also swell at their impressive stash of adornments for gifts. If you are not sure what you're looking for, most staff are pretty familiar with products and locations. Prices are decent, especially when you consider how often their selection is exclusive in proximity. Pretty quick checkout and they've helped me to my car on occasion. One last little tip - If you have the iPhone, download and checkout the Yowza app for discounts. Show them any relevant coupon and voila - you might save 15%! read more

Although as a consolation prize, Sami A.'s review notes that this store has the same potential to destroy a marriage/couple as they bicker over idiotic things. That is half of the fun of shopping at this store as the profanity flies and they are quick to rise to insults - it is like seeing Greg Giraldo stand-up in front of your eyes as he details how his marriages had failed. They have everything to "get organized" but it is not cheap, flimsy, impossible to assemble stuff like ikea. I hate everything about ikea including that stupid little tiny wrench that I always lose. It's been years since I've been to The Container Store. I've always liked this store, but I've never lived near any of the locations. I just happened to be shopping in the Galleria area yesterday and stumbled upon the store. I just had to go in. As much as I love Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I needed to stop in here because I knew I could find some goodies that I've been needing. Well I found so much stuff, I was having to decide what things I could justify buying at that moment, and things I could come back for. The employees are very knowledgeable about the products and are so helpful! Just when you think you've seen everything, they point you in another direction of products that may suit your needs. Jan helped me out so much and showed me great filing storage cabinets as well as shelving and shower caddies!! She was so friendly! I also liked that they were doing an in-store demo on office organizational supplies. I'm actually grateful that this store isn't closer to my house, because I think I would go broke buying up everything in the place! Finally decided to organize my jewelry and the container store came in so handy!! I went the "creative" way and purchased different types of holders. I purchased a plastic one that holds 80 earrings and a bunch of necklaces for the bigger jewelry and small plastic color boxes for the smaller jewelry. I also got three bigger boxes for my bracelets, watches and rings! I have to admit that this is the first time in my entire life that my jewelry is actually organized!! The store itself has a good selection of containers, baskets and the like. However, the design department is where they fall short. My wife and I scheduled an appointment to meet with a design specialist in regard to our master bedroom closet. It was super easy to schedule the appointment online. We were scheduled for 12 noon. We made sure to arrive a little early so that we would be on time and have some time to browse. We checked in upon arrival at the design counter and was told that a designer would be with us shortly. No worries as we were slightly early. While we were waiting more and more people started to check in. At 12:15 we were still waiting. A group that came in after us was helped immediately. Then two other groups of people who came in after us were helped right away. It wasn't until 12:40 before we were finally helped. The designer spent about 4-5 minutes with us saying that we would have to come back in 2-3 days to discuss the design. She rushed us out because she said that she had other appointments waiting. So we waited for nearly an hour to get 5 minutes of time with a designer and we accomplished absolutely nothing. We will be buying our custom closet somewhere else. It's just a shame, we liked the product. Too bad the employees couldn't pull it together long enough to treat us properly. They definitely lost a sale. read more

There is really only one thing I buy at the Container Store...their plastic shoe boxes. Those things are seriously awesome!!! Since my wife loves to collect shoes like their going to go extinct any minute now...these shoe boxes are an easy way to store your shoes while making it easy to find what pair is in which box, since they are made of clear plastic. I am sure the Container Store has more goodies, but as long as they keep making these shoe boxes, they will have my business (unless shoes really do go extinct!). read more
