We had a new patio installed last July and from the first week we started having issues with the sealant chipping. Since then it has just gotten worse. It's everywhere on our patio and looks so bad. They also spilled stain on our patio table and we were told they could come out and fix it and never did. I didn't intend to replace this table yet, and now it looks bad. We have been in contact with Concrete Doctors several times, including the first week it was completed, and over the past year and absolutely nothing has been resolved. This spring we were told it was too cold and the conditions weren't right and now we just get no response at all. Not happy! communication is bad and seems like the price changed and not what I was quoted. Now my concrete is cracking.

Just like many projects, sometimes schedule is highly dependent on the weather. When schedules change because of it, communication is key, but it's difficult sometimes. There was a small incident with the lack of communication, which I took away one star. But their performance and value were so good, I would've given them six stars; hence, my review is FIVE stars. We are SO happy with the work of The Concrete Doctors! From the beginning, they communicated with us, replied to all our questions right away, and gave us ideas for our patio. We had a gutter going across one walkway away from the house and right away JR suggested they could install an underground pop-up drain. I would not recommend them to anyone...  Poor quality work, I am very unsatisfied with my driveway and garage floor. They power washed and sealed my garage floor and replaced my driveway. My new driveway has splash marks and pitting all over. Looks unprofessional as if it was the team first time on the job. Secondly, my garage floor was power washed and sealed with many stains and dirt marks everywhere. After only two weeks, the sealer coat is already flaking off. It looks worse then before they touched my garage floor. Plus, They splashed concrete and sealer all over my bricks of my house and inside my garage. DID NOT FINISH THE JOB - We choose this company to complete the replacement of our garage floor (small 1 car detached) in November 2022. The most generous way I can describe what happened is a miscommunication that resulted in incomplete work. We have a historic home where the garage has been sealed and wasn't able to accommodate a car, we were replacing the entire garage floor and pouring a new apron to the alley. The concrete was done in early November and we then replaced the both doors with new doors and power openers two weeks later (we had to wait 1 week for the concrete to dry). The communication was good initially and we were flexible with the timing so much so that they got to us very quickly when a rainstorm made them unable to complete an outdoor job. I told the owner of the company what our plans was and that once the floor was completed we would be replacing the doors and making this a functional garage before winter fully set in. Fast forward to when they were done pouring, I noticed that under the door facing the alley they didn't finish the threshold, there is a large crack, rough concrete, and it doesn't have the raise lip like they described,. I made a comment to the foreman on site specifically about this area, and while he didn't speak perfect English he assured me it would be fixed once we got the doors in. Two weeks later the doors were installed and I called the company back to complete their work at which point I texted JR (owner) who said he would let me know when he could get his guys back out and how much the additional cost would be. I immediately questioned his response because #1 there was never a disclosure about an additional charge in the contract to complete the job #2 their foreman verbally told me it would be fixed #3 We disclosed the plan and timing all along, if there was going to be a separate charge to complete the job (either in two weeks or next year) why wasn't it disclosed until we had no choice? I was in discussion with JR about issue and trying to find a resolution and needless to say we disagreed, his response was "the job site didn't all us to complete the work" and his assumption was that we weren't going to do the doors until "sometime next year" which didn't line up with my initial comments to him about it wanting it done so we could get our car in before the snow. And in the middle of our discussing JR just stopped responding. So yeah, most of the job was done correctly I just wish they would have finished it. read more

RUN!! Not kidding. The workers and the owner are POS from our experience. The concrete they poured is an amateur job at best (check out pics), but that's not even the worst of it. I asked them to bury my sump pump hose and they said they can do it. When the job was done no one came inside to inspect it or test run it. The sump pump was disconnected on the inside and when it rained 2 days later it flooded my whole basement. When I told Junior(the owner) about it he said it wasn't his fault, which it clearly was. Then he said he reported it to his insurance company and is waiting to hear back from them. When we contacted his insurance company they told us he never filed anything, he told them it wasn't his fault and case was closed. We have multiple text messages of him blatantly lying, saying he reported it and is waiting on their response. He was hoping we'd leave it alone like most people do, but we didn't. At the end he had no choice but to accept blame and pay for whole basement to be refinished. Best part is, when town came to inspect the newly buried sump pump hose it DID NOT pass inspection. Today we also found out his workers punctured our gas line that's connected to the grill and we are now going to have that replaced also. End of the day, I wouldn't wish this type of experience on anyone. Everything from concrete pouring to denying responsibility for obvious mistakes was a complete joke. DO NOT USE THEM. I never leave reviews to negatively impact a company, but I'm telling you do not use this "company." The concrete was cracking, chipping, and flaking 4 months after install. When I called they said they would send someone to come look. They did a terrible patch job and none of the new concrete matched now. 1-2 months later same problem. The owner junior started yelling on the phone claiming we ruining the concrete. When asked when the concrete was staining so easily he said he's a power washer. Then claimed he never said that. Why would one use a power washer on concrete that's chipping away on its own? I've talked to other clients of his and looked at some of the priorities and they all have problems also. Had another concrete company come out and within two seconds they said they used mixed it wrong and/or used too much water. So now I'm left stuck with less than a year old concrete chipping, cracking, flaking, and pitting all over. Not surprised when they contract out workers too. What I hate most about this company is there lack of accountability, there team replaced my driveway. After few days of starting the job, they ran into many complications which pissed me off. They lack experience and have no idea what they are doing. The owner tried to make amends with me by explaining what problems they had, gist was not licensed in my town. Why on god's earth would you cement cable lines and my air conditioner inside my new cement patio and sidewalk. This was just a ridiculous job and I 100% regret hiring them. We contacted The Concrete Doctors based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Jr arrived for the appointment on time and took measurements for our driveway extension. Our village does not allow overnight parking, so we needed driveway space for my husband's work vehicle. Jr. emailed us the quote after the appointment as he said he would and we decided to move forward about a week later. They took care of the permits and began work about three weeks later. Once the area was marked, they made the necessary adjustments as required by the village and passed inspection. The pour happened on a Saturday and they did a great job both with the concrete and with keeping the site clean. At the conclusion of the job, we had some questions and those were navigated in a professional and timely manner. I've used Concrete Doctors twice now and have absolutely no complaints. Junior is very prompt and responsive. Each time he did a project for us, he started right away and finished same day. Not that I have a ton of experience in concrete but the prices seemed completely reasonable. The first job was a slab of concrete for a custom shed to sit on. Because the shed was custom, he had to talk to my vendor on that side to ensure it would work. While I think that is just what you should do if you really want the business, I know there are plenty of vendors that would just tell you to figure it out. I'm not an expert in sheds nor concrete so me being a middle man just didn't make sense and he agreed. The second job was a walkway from my front yard to back yard. He actually had to regrade the whole side to get it to be level and they did that. They reused the same dirt so that we didn't pay for anything extra and we had our landscapers just cover it afterwards. They also put a stair in to get up to our patio in the yard. Everything looks as good as it could. Not that I've ever had an issue but I get the feeling that, if I did, I could just text him and he'd rectify it right away. I don't know if I got B teamed or what, but Concrete Doctors didn't perform the service I agreed or paid for, and that seems like a big deal when you're pouring big slabs of reinforced concrete. When Carmen, or "Junior"s guys left, I had a brand new, sunken, sloppy looking garage floor. See photos uploaded. I spent the rest of the night learning the hard and fast way how to trowel concrete smooth. Hardly an endearing task after you just paid a company 3k+ to do a better job. I called CD because our old garage floor was sunken and cracked to bits, and we agreed to pour a new floor to raise it up to the correct level plus an inch, because our old driveway was also sunken, but a project for a later date. So this new garage floor would be an inch high to ensure proper drainage slope once the new driveway was poured in future. Junior also showed me the newer side of my garage as an example of how baby smooth the slab would be. On the day, Junior stopped by in the morning for a few minutes before the concrete truck arrived, then left a crew with one good English speaker to do the work. The truck came and they did the job efficiently, though I noticed towards the end they were scraping the bottom of the barrel to barely come up level with the existing driveway. I knew enough about pouring concrete that there wasn't anything to be done about it at that point - ordering a new truck would take too long to pour and mix in with this already setting batch - bottom line was they didn't order enough concrete for the job. Junior also had said they'd be pulling the wire mesh up to center in the slab, but I watched the entire process, and they left that mesh at the bottom. Soon enough the English speaker had left and the last two guys were troweling a soupy, gloppy surface. It was a cool day and the concrete was delivered a bit wet - it was taking its time to set up. The guys kept coming to ask me in broken English if they had done good enough and could leave. The first time I checked it, it looked like a photo of a puddle on a rainy day and was clearly still very wet. I had them go over it a second time... they came and asked if they could leave. It looked terrible. Go over it again. Concerned, I called Junior, who reassured me while asking ME to police HIS crew and make sure they didn't go home until the job was perfect. Really? They called me out a third time, over 3 hours had passed at this point. The job still looked super rough, the concrete was still clearly too wet to trowel nicely, the sun was down, and they kept telling me this was about as good as it was going to get, because clearly they wanted to go home, and as far as I knew, maybe that was honestly as good as they were capable of. At this point they left. See photos of what Concrete Doctors delivered. I spent that night on my hands and knees trying to salvage the surface, if not the height. Of course I brought all this up to Junior the following day when he showed up for final payment, and he was apologetic, but not nearly to the point one would expect as the head of a company that just shorted us on concrete, did a terrible surfacing job on a brand new sunken slab which the homeowner spent the night troweling himself. He also swore the previously detailed crack relief cuts (which he noticed his crew didn't actually do) were now unnecessary. A more excitable homeowner would probably scream, kick, and litigate until Concrete Doctors came back, broke up and hauled away the new slab and did the job right. Now, I have a garage floor that's level most of the way, then kicks down in the last few feet noticeably. I have to figure out how to re-frame out the new garage doors, because the opening on Junior's side of the garage is almost two inches taller than a standard garage door. The bottom of the existing outer trim for the doors, which was at one time level with the old garage floor, is 2+ inches higher than this brand new floor. The concession made for all of these errors together? He graciously subtracted, from the $3000+ total, the 30 dollars I spent on a trowel madly speeding to Home Depot after his crew left. As I signed the check with my blistered hand, I was also treated to a near-earnest job offer for the nice troweling work I did. *EDIT* At first I generously gave a second star for the few good points of the work performed and a modicum of perceived decency. Sadly, the BUSINESS OWNER HAS SINCE VOTED HIS OWN INCOMPETENCE SEEN HERE, "FUNNY", which really ranks him with the worst sort of prepubescent douchebag. These jokesters also operate as THE CONCRETE ADVISORS in another town for reasons I can only imagine. I have a brand new below-grade garage floor, which gets water in it whenever it rains. Concrete is a fairly permanent thing, I encourage you to get it done right rather than turn over your hard earned dollars to the guy who botches the job and laughs about screwing his customers. read more

In March 2022, we realized that half of the patio is complete spotty with missing color. Note this is only 9 months later. It is very clear that one half of the patio was sealed properly and the other must not have been. We reached out multiple times to The Concrete Doctors and told we did something wrong (salt or cleaning products). This is not true. We did absolutely nothing to the patio all winter. It took multiple attempts to get The Concrete Doctors to assess this situation. I actually don't even know if they physically came to check it - they claim to have done so but never contacted me when they did and now say we would have to pay to fix this issue they created.
