Outstanding workmanship done quickly, but still very efficiently, and at a fair price as well vs. the rest. Maks and his crew went above & beyond to fix my outdoor 4th-story (of a 4-story building) brick cracks which were causing water damage through my living room a/c unit in my home. They came prepared and resolved issue I had without issues. Highly recommended!!! read more

I would not hire them again. My patio is fairly new. Before they came it was sealed properly. After they came it fell apart after 6 mo. They'll tell you every excuse in the book, saying the patio has too much shade, poor drainage, etc. But the fact is, it was sealed and fine until they came, resealed/sanded it and then it was a disaster. Now I have to get it redone properly again. What a waste of money that was. Do not listen to the excuses they provide. They will reply here and it's 100% a lie. They would not come and redo it for me. So I will never recommend this place to anyone. Poor craftsmanship on their part. And they would not resolve it, so not a trustworthy business. Come with the excuses. Adios. https://youtu.be/e7CbCTkfPxE - view of the shoddy craftsmanship applied to my entire patio. The whole thing looks like this now and did after 6 mo of them redoing the patio. Before this, I never had problems to this degree, period. Nothing even close to this state. My entire patio has sun hitting it, there's no excuses here. There's guards along the edge to keep plants from penetrating it, always has been. They'll throw every excuse at the book while other contractors will just make it right, even if they have to redo such a poor job that did not hold up even for a year. read more

Did a great job adding a lentil above my basement window. Was able to come out the next day and was reasonably priced. Will use again.

They were professional fixed and tuck-point the chimney. They finished when they said they would. Also cleaned up and was respectful to neighbors the chimney was near the property line. read more

Maks came out and gave us a very reasonable estimate on rebuilding our two chimneys. He helped us pick out a matching stone as one chimney was only going to be rebuilt from the roof line up so it had to compliment the bottom half. He protected our brand new roof and worked with the roofers to ensure that everything met the proper requirements for a waterproof and sound installation. I would definitely hire the Stone and Brick Masonry Group for any of my chimney and masonry needs. read more

The technician showed up and very polite and pointed out all the issues that I didn't realize. The quote was reasonable and contracts are very detailed. Even though we didn't ended up using the service, but the whole conversation was well worth the time. read more

I really liked everything about working with this company. They did great work at a fair price and they showed up when they said they would. What I liked the most was it was clear they wanted the work and cared about doing a good job. I really like people who are good at what they do and want to earn an honest buck. read more

Incredible - I called these guys to help me build out a flagstone patio - I worked with Maks D. The guy and his crew are the absolute best I highly highly recommend. I've worked with several masonry outfits in my day - this is one of the best. read more

Maks was prompt to respond, easy to communicate with, and very professional and knowledgeable. We used Stone and Brick Masonry Group to do some mason work on our 100+ year old house and they did a great job. They went above and beyond and even completed some plaster patchwork on our basement ceiling. I will definitely be using them again for any future masonry projects that come up! read more

Maks came out quickly to get us a free price quote on what needed to be done. The job was for brick work on the outside of chimney that was crumbling and build the "cap" at the top. Also they made the fireplace safe and useable on the inside of the chimney by putting or adding something to the inside. Flu? Liner? Sorry if my construction lingo is incorrect. I considered that a company from Hoffman Estates may be out of my price range but their quote was one of the best price quotes we received. The team showed up on time in marked trucks with the company name and graphic on them, which folks in my family, like that image. Work was completed on time and it looked great. I will add pictures to this review shortly. If you're getting quotes for stone, brick, masonry, chimney, fireplace, etc., this company is worth considering. Good price. Good work read more

Maks performed the service he said he would. Very professional, quality driven and value oriented. Will hire the Stone & Brick Masonry Group at the next chance. read more

Finally a reliable company! Maks and his team did a fantastic job to fix the stairs to our house. We had these fixed so many times and quality was always so disappointing. Maks came out to look at the problem and offered multiple options to resolve the problem. The price was fair! His team arrived as scheduled, worked diligently and completed within the promised time frame without any "surprise" expenses. We highly recommend them! read more

Maks and his team did a great job rebuilding our fireplace chimney and patching our furnace chimney last month. They arrived early on Tuesday and were totally done by Thursday afternoon. I liked the fact that the owner was on-site and did much of the work himself. Cleanup was excellent and the quality of the masonry looks great. They weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive of the numerous quotes we received, but for the quality work they did I think they were a fine choice for us. read more

My wife and I recently moved into a condo that required substantial renovation. One item on our list was to open a masonry wall between the kitchen and the living room. We selected Stone and Masonry to do the work and we are glad that we did. They did an excellent job. We would recommend them. read more

Best mason I've worked with. Maks has completed a number of projects for me over the last 5 years (tuckpointing, fireplace, driveway pavers). I'm an architect and have grown frustrated with other masons. Maks is extremely knowledgeable and consistently does the work the right way. High quality materials and installed per industry standards. Plus, he is responsive and professional. read more

Our recently purchased home has a failed mortar joint in the limestone façade surrounding our front door which was letting water in. Maks came out to look at the problem and offered multiple options to resolve the matter. After extensive market research, we determined all the options he presented were fairly priced and based on his responsiveness and personable attitude, we hired him to perform the repair. He and his crew worked quickly and professionally. We are happy with the end product and plan to hire this company again for our future tuck pointing and sealing needs. read more

Maks and his team completed a tuckpointing job at our home the past few days. These are the type of contractors we think highly of. The project was fairly priced, experienced masons, cleaned the area at the end of each day and at the end of the job, were responsive and communicated with us from estimate through completion. Bottom line, the tuck-pointing turned out really well. We'd highly recommend them !!! read more

This company is timely, efficient, polite and they do great work. They cleaned up after completing a new chimney and grinding / tuckpointing steps. Cleaner than when they started. Masks and crew are wonderful. read more

Mak is such a great guy and goes above an beyond with all work performed. Had Mac and his crew do 3 jobs for me as well as some work for my mother in law. Had his crew pull out old limestone from our patio door and front entryway. Also had my other home prior to sale get masonry work done and was done perfectly. The work on our patio was done very well and stopped a long time leak that would funnel into our basement. Others came out to try to figure the leak and he solved and hit out of the park with the repair. Mak is very detailed in his explanation of work and always has followup with any questions. I highly recommend using Stone and Brick Masonry Group if you want excellent masonry work at a great price. read more

The people at Stone an Brick were very responsive to a tuckpointing and mortar job I requested. They explained the process, were right on time, and answered my questions. In addition, they spotted additional areas that should be addressed, but didn't push for over-the-top work or unnecessary add-ons. Contact Stone and Brick Masonry with confidence. read more

Maks did a phenomenal job cutting two window openings in our brick exterior wall. This particular job required him to perform the task completely from the interior of the home. Throughout the process he was professional, efficient, and always held a realistic optimism toward the job at hand. I will highly recommend his work to anyone! Thank you Maks for making this happen for us! It really has made this space not feel dark, dingy, and depressing. read more

We just bought a new house and had a service door installed by our contractor on the side of our garage which has a brick exterior. The masonry person who works with our contractor cancelled on him at the last minute. After our contractor was done installing the service door, we had to hurry up and find a masonry company. Stone & Brick Masonry responded on Yelp very quickly the same day and gave a $600 lower estimate than another company. They also came out within a couple of days to start the project which took slightly more than one day. They installed a lintel above, formed the brick border around, and installed a limestone sill beneath the service door. Stone & Brick Masonry was extremely professional and knowledgeable and they cleaned up well when they completed the job. This was a great experience overall and we would recommend them to friends and family members. read more

The work conducted was replacing a chimney from roof line up. Maks and his crew were excellent from start to finish. Their proposal was not the highest or the lowest but it was the most thorough. They worked efficiently and they consistently cleaned up each day. We are still amazed at how similar the replacement bricks match the original. They covered every detail including cleaning from the inside of the chimney once completed. The final sign that they go the extra mile is when I headed out that evening and found that they had covered an area of the lawn with sod. They never mentioned this when closing out, they just went and did it. This has been the most pleasant service experience that I can remember. Well done, Stone and Brick Masonry Group. read more

Mak is a great business man! He responds to messages via the Yelp app quickly and goes above and beyond explaining every detail of the work being provided. He came out to my property, offered and estimate, and came back a second time to meet with my husband. We signed and received a copy of the contract. Mak and his crew excavated down to the foundation of our home and across the property line about 10 ft. out. The foundation was sealed, the chimney was tuck pointed, the perimeter of our home was sealed and he fixed a few chips on our front stairs. He even laid 4 limestone bricks under our windows to assure everything was sealed properly. We had a few flash flood warnings this summer and had ZERO water enter our basement. His crew cleans up after themselves, they focus on the work at hand and they keep to their schedule. I highly recommend Mak and his crew. They get the job done and Mak will come out to your property at different stages of the job. He will also spend time going over a final walk-through after the job is complete to explain everything done all over again. He makes sure you are completely happy with the job! read more

Maks and his crew worked very hard on our project. We had the chimney rebuilt (from the roof up) with a new custom crown and cap .. Spot tuckpointing on the lower part of the chimney .. coping stones installed and stoop poured by a rear stairwell .. and a limestone piece replaced under our front door. Overall I'm very happy with their work and I would hire them again. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish they would have been better with caulking. There really is not a lot of visible caulk on this project but the two places that are very visible were done just sort of ok. The front door especially .. I would have liked to have seen a really tight straight line between the door frame and the limestone. I think maybe because they were working on a Saturday they were in a hurry to get going. read more

I called for a quote- he confirmed a date and time to come by and cancel right before the appointment because I didn't give him my phone number- when all he had to do was ask. He said he will call back reschedule on a specific day and never called me back. Very poor customer service. read more

Maks, the owner of Stone and Brick Masonry Group, did a superior job. My front stairs are stone and were falling apart. Maks came right away for an estimate. He explained the process to me. He and his partner fixed the front stairs. They are beautiful. He then put a water sealer on the stI asked him to take a look at the chimney crown. He said the bricks were fine but the crown needed replacement. He replaced the crown and extended the flu. I was unaware that the flu was not long enough. He found other minor problems as I was showing him areas of the house that I thought needed work. Maks did show me that some outside caulking was cracking and flaking off. I asked him to redo the outside caulk on the house. He did, and it never looked better. I am grateful that I found Stone and Brick Masonry Group. read more

Mak is very professional businessman that thoroughly understands his business. He is prompt and courteous. He provides professional estimates and he stands by them. His byline is, "We're Not Happy Until You're 100% Satisfied!" he lives by this. He demoed and rebuilt a wall for our patio and fixed some brick work on the house. The work was conducted very professionally. The crew maintained a neat work site, and restored the area when they were complete. We are very happy with the finish product. We are hiring Mak to do additional tuck pointing on the rest of the house. read more

I needed to have a concrete patio and sidewalk re-done, some tuckpointing, and to have the house foundation sealed. I called several contractors I found on Yelp and was very fortunate that Maks was one of them. He was, by far, the most responsive and knowledgeable person I spoke to and he quoted me a very fair price for the job. We scheduled the job and it was completed on time and as promised. I hope I don't need to do more home repairs anytime soon, but if I do, Maks will be the one doing the work. read more

This company is very thorough, offers quotes with full explanations of work necessary in terms that anyone could understand and they complied with our request for separate quotes for areas we wanted work done. Work was scheduled and they came when we were told and the work took exactly as long as expected. Work is top notch, workers are clean and very polite, and we were offered options for the work we wanted to be done. We do have more work planned for next year with this same company. Never felt pressured to upselling anything. Very good customer service, highly recommend them! read more
