For the work he did, I think his price was fair and reasonable. Artur is kind and very service oriented. His company also does other construction work and he is a handyman. I'd highly recommend Chris for painting / drywall patching!…read more Chris was quick to respond to my Yelp request for a quote, and we were able to schedule our services for just a few days later. His quote was reasonable, and his work was fantastic - from patching three small drywall holes and painting only that section of a wall, to clean-up of various nicks and scratches previously incurred, to completely changing the paint color in one of our bedrooms... the patches are not visible, the ceiling lines were clean, blending was nearly invisible, he worked quickly and efficiently, and he performed all cleanup. Our experience was so good that we have now requested a quote to paint the exterior of our home in the coming months and will be working with him for future interior paint jobs in the future. After receiving several bids for deck removal and installation of a stamped concrete patio, we…read morechose G Cat Construction. We saw many very favorable reviews and their bid was well below others. It also included more options. We were not disappointed. Our deck was removed in one day and then Vito and his crew came back to mock up the design we were thinking about. After several minor changes, the outline was marked out and the work began. G Cat has all the equipment you could possibly think of to make a job move along quickly and as perfectly as possible. Jillian came out and helped us select the concrete colors and stamping designs. The patio was put down in two pours and either Vito or his father Mike (He's the one with the cigar) supervised. The team worked like a well-oiled machine. Everyone knew exactly what to do and when to do it. There was no damage to the lawn and the crew cleaned up each time they were here. On the final visit the sealing coats were applied and then the color really came out. It was outstanding! We were available to watch the progress of the work. The vast number of steps required to complete this work is mind boggling. Doing the work well and not taking short cuts is paramount in the process. G Cat operates with great integrity and respect for the client. No short cuts! Each time we look at our new patio we see the beautiful result of the color, texture, and the stamped design. Even the detail of the step down from the house has a live edge on the concrete. It looks like a large actual stone. Best of all is the minimal maintenance of the patio. Professionalism: From the outset, the owner, Karl, demonstrated outstanding professionalism. He provided a prompt, competitive estimate, and the final cost actually came in slightly under budget. The demolition was carried out with surgical precision, and the entire worksite was kept immaculately clean throughout the project. Karl and his partner David handled all the work themselves--eliminating the typical delays and coordination issues that come with juggling multiple subcontractors. Creativity and Craftsmanship: Karl's insight during the planning phase helped us reimagine the layout to maximize both space and functionality. He offered thoughtful, practical design suggestions that elevated the final result, guiding us toward choices that added real value. Karl and David brought an old-world craftsmanship and an impeccable attention to detail to every stage of the process. High-quality materials were used throughout, and Karl's network of skilled artisans--including a stone mason and glass cutter--ensured that every component was expertly sourced and installed at a fair price. If you're looking for a GC who can drag you into a lawsuit and leave your commercial project with…read morecostly delays, construction defects, and potential safety issues, then Angelo may be the contractor for you. We signed a legal contract with Angelo in May and provided fully approved architectural, engineering, and interior construction plans for our commercial project. Before construction began, we met multiple times with engineers, designers, and Angelo to review the project. He stated that he had no concerns and promised completion by August. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of a long and expensive ordeal. In addition to paying all progress payments on time, we prepaid over $30,000 for equipment that was not included in the original contract because Angelo requested the funds to help speed up construction. We provided complete equipment specifications, including manufacturers, models, supplier quotes, and contact information. Throughout the project, Angelo repeatedly reported progress and demanded additional payments. However, when we verified the status with local authorities, we discovered that certain inspections and approvals had not been completed as represented. He also threatened to stop work unless we paid for portions of the project that were not yet completed. To make matters worse, when the equipment arrived, we discovered that he had changed the manufacturers and models without our authorization. This created additional delays and complications that could have been avoided. As construction continued, numerous problems surfaced, including issues with drywall, electrical work, plumbing, and other portions of the project. Despite repeated concerns, Angelo consistently refused to acknowledge responsibility for these mistakes. Although Angelo informed us in November that the project was complete, we later discovered major deficiencies that should never have been overlooked on a commercial build. Required gas lines for kitchen equipment had not been installed, plumbing work required corrections, and improper electrical installation caused some of our equipment to lose manufacturer warranty coverage. We were forced to hire other contractors to repair and complete the work at additional expense. As a result, the project was not truly completed until early January--approximately five months later than originally promised. Because of the delays, construction defects, corrective work, and financial losses caused by these issues, we did not agree to pay the final $18,000 in full. Instead, we sought to offset a small portion of the damages we incurred, which far exceeded that amount. In response, Angelo filed a lawsuit claiming we owed him $27,000 and placed a mechanic's lien on our property. We fulfilled our obligations, paid on time, cooperated throughout the project, and even advanced significant additional funds to help move construction forward. In return, we experienced delays, unauthorized equipment substitutions, construction defects, costly repairs, and ongoing legal disputes. This review reflects our personal experience with this commercial project and is shared to help other property owners make a more informed decision when selecting a contractor.
