The concrete cracked within the first week of being poured and nobody came to fix it. Also beware when dealing with Mike as he will charge you extra $1,000 or probably more to finish the job he starts. It's a common business practice by him as a lot of customers are mentioning the same thing from Yelp, Homeadvisor.com, and Google Reviews. Read the reviews before dealing with Dependable Concrete. As a contractor Mike should know the price of materials beforehand and before quoting the customers. Mike demanded $1,000 more because of the increase of the cement price. Cement shortages have been going on for months and Mike should have taken that into account before giving the quote. Cement shortages aren't recent news. He waited until he removed the old driveway and then as the shady businessman that he is - he demanded extra money to finish the job when I was left with a big hole around my house. Beware as this is common practice by Dependable concrete if you read the reviews. Cement shortages or not - the original quote should have accounted for that. As a customer I don't ask my contractor to refund me the money if the price of material goes down in the future. Mike should stick to his original quote and price, but he doesn't do that. Stay away from Dependable Concrete - bad business to deal with and very poor quality - concrete cracks within days and nobody will come fix it after they take the money from you. read more

Not only did they transform my old beaten down back patio into a poppin elaborate gray rocky designed stamped concrete masterpiece at an unbeatable price, but they made sure to keep my lawn in tac and took care of and cleaned up very nicely once they finished! If I could give no stars I would, ALL of the reviews past people have left has been my experience! I just had work done this past May 2020 small simple job, fix a front walkway and a small patch on the side of my house. Mike who is the owner first started off very nice, then as late may went by I contacted him with no response. I then to had to contact him down again to check the status of my permit, as I did give him HALF the down payment. Finally I called the village myself and he finally contacted me. Time has gone by and they finished the job and man was it sloppy! They came back out to strip it and I pointed out their mistakes and how 2-3 family members also noticed these mistakes and the main guy on the job "EDDY" said "they are stupid, this is just a walkway and it doesn't really matter they are little things". **Mistake included many chips that will continue to chip and they were rushing they cant cut straight lines or even finish the line for that matter, (pictures to follow).** I continued to say that "it DOES matter to me because this is my house and my money". If it was free I couldn't complain of such a sloppy job. GET EVERYTHING IN YOUR CONTRACT EVEN THE SMALLEST THING! They wouldn't even come in to fill the dirt they took out for the job EXTREMELY CHEAP. I also had to clean up 12 nails so my lawn guy didn't damage his machine or anyone else hurt themselves. I wish I read those before I hired Mike. He was recommended by Brandywine. I hired him for new patio, stoop and pathway. It was done last summer (2019). Poor performance. Left nails sticking out and the sides had gaps. 6 months later huge cracks. Called Mike, at first he said he will co.e to take a look now he is not picking up the phone at all. Very disappointed. Did a sloppy job. Also, did not do what was expected. We discussed a patio with cuts to form 6 pieces and it was done in four, which is a completely different look. The cuts were not done to the end and water stays there and does not drain. There are large pieces of cement leaked everywhere. In addition, did not respect our property at all. The side of the house is splattered everywhere... To top it off, they even washed off their tools in our front yard at the end and there was two inches of hardened cement to take out. They even asked for an additional $500 because the stoop was ticker than they expected it to be, and additional $50 because the inspection needed to be rescheduled. $500 is a lot of money especially if its not expected. Why is the estimate then?! read more

We had Dependable Concrete of Villa Park, pour a new driveway, stair stoop and sidewalk. The stoop and sidewalk came out okay. However, the driveway now has a large puddle of standing water ever time it rains. They refuse to do anything about it, and they also did not protect the side of the house or the $700.00 gate that was just installed last fall. Now both have concrete splashed all over them. They had no respect for our home and left garbage in the back yard, just feet away from out garbage container. They also tore out a number of the front shrubs that they were told to leave in place, another problem that we will be forced to correct and more cost to us. Then owner had the nerve to ask us to pay him another $300.00 for work that the village required him to do as part of the permit. Something he should have known as he told us how much work they do in our town and it was right on the permit. I would not recommend them; look for a company that will respect your home and clean up any defects they may create. Very undependable people, but if you want a duck pond in your driveway, call them. read more

I contracted Dependable Concrete, Inc of Addison through Service Magic Inc. Mike Richardson bid for my job to remove and replace the 3-car garage concrete floor, remove and replace front service walk and front stoop with colored concrete for a total of $5 grands which he got paid in full on June 1, 2012. He sealed the concrete before even 24 hours after the pour. All of the concrete surfaces were discolored with botches. The front stoop developed a 4-foot long crack that becamse visible 3 days after the pour. I parked my cars outside for 6 weeks. Two days after I started parking inside, the contact with the tires peeled out and the brand new concrete inside and out looked ugly. I e-amiled photos of the brand new concrete to Mike Richardson. He never came to see the ugly work his so called Dependable Concrete have done. Because of the premature application of the seal (should have waited 60 days) the cement never got the chance to properly cure. That work is not worth 10% of the money I paid him for. He either does not know anything about concrete, or he does not know anything about Customer Satisfaction and deliberately damaged the job. We had them replace an existing old driveway and also replace a small front sidewalk installed improperly 2 years ago by another company. Their price was reasonable. Mike was very accommodating with what we wanted. We had to wait for our new garage to be built before they would install the driveway, so there was a time gap between when we signed with them and when the work could actually be done. Mike met with me again and reviewed the project when we were at the point where they could do the work. He was very accommodating of my concerns for work around existing landscaping, our new garage, and the front steps and brick banisters. We came to agreements on what would have to be done by both of us to protect those areas. We also ended up increasing the area for the front sidewalk and driveway from our original plans. Mike gave us a price for that additional area, and it was very reasonable. He didn't try to gouge us for that. When they did the work, they removed the front sidewalk area by hand to make sure they didn't do any damage to the existing landscaping, steps, or banisters. When they did the pouring, they worked a very long day in order to get it all done in one day. Their workers were very friendly. As they promised, the first good weather day after the pouring, they came out and sealed all of the concrete. The final product looks great. When our landscaper came out to finish off the grading and sod, the first thing the owner said was, "You really have a nice looking drive now." read more
