I found myself here at The Compleat Kitchen at Kahala Mall. I'm thankful these businesses exist, especially when you need stuff for your home or work. In my situation, it was work related, so I decided to shop here. The Compleat Kitchen has basically everything and everything related to the home and the kitchen. While many businesses and commercial spaces utilizes a kitchen or a kitchen like atmosphere, it helps to have all the things that can make it a functional space. When I decided to save money and cook while at work during the week, I came to The Complete Kitchen to find a microwavable porcelain bowl the first time I was here. I looked around the store for 15 minutes before asking for help. The guy who worked there helped me with the request and it was a definitely a cute bowl that I use for oatmeal in the morning and soups during lunch time at work. The second time around shopping here, I needed a reusable porcelain spoon and washable / reusable chopsticks. After looking around the store, I found them near the cashier station. At least I found what I was looking for without assistance the second time around, which was very nice. They had assorted knives and other gadgets that help with meal preparation, along with pans and other items that would make your life in the kitchen better and easier. I'd definitely love them and it's definitely worth time to check out for sure, if you're interested and in the area. The overall experience here at The Complete Kitchen here at Kahala Mall is very cool. I got what I came in here to do and can happily save money by cooking at work and not have to go out as often. Buying microwavable bowl and reusable utensils helps me with cost cutting in the long run. The prices here are reasonable for anyone and everyone who needs cutlery, pots and pans, or anything else they need to help them in the kitchen. The service here is excellent and they are very knowledgeable in what they are selling. For the most part though, my experience here at The Complete Kitchen is great. I got what I was looking for and the prices are great. I didn't take long to find what I was looking for and the shop itself was fairly large for its size. It was cool that this shop was close to home. Definitely will return to this store if I need a knife or to replace something previously purchased. It is cool to have this store locally when you need a piece of cutlery or something for your kitchen. The Compleat Kitchen is located inside Kahala Mall. It's nearby Center Stage and Starbucks on the Whole Foods side of the mall. The physical address is 4211 Waialae Avenue, 96816. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. I don't know if they have a minimum purchase for credit cards, but its nice to ask them if they do. As far as parking goes, they have a sizable parking option for anyone and everyone to use. Best bet would be to find parking early enough and walk to the store. There is rooftop parking too, and you just take the escalators down to the ground floor. Just be warn that your car can get warm or hot after returning especially during the summer months. If you are like me, there a bunch of bus routes that services the Kahala area, 1, 1L, 2, 2L, 7, 14, 23, and 234. Choose the right one or connection that works for you. And of course, if you love Uber or Lyft, there's that option too as well. No matter how you get here, if you need supplies for your kitchen or just something else that you need for cooking, consider The Compleat Kitchen at Kahala mall for your shopping needs. Purchase an item of $5 and get one knife sharpened. Hubs said let's both go and have 2 knives done. I found a cute scrubbie for Doc and a new set of measuring spoons that boldly have large colorful measurement equivalents on each in the set. I looked at the trendy beverage cups and they were anywhere from $30 - $45 each. Ring up was fast as they had two cashiers on both sides of the counter. Here at The Complete Kitchen is what I believe is one of the last shop that dedicate itself for tools and novelty fun for the chefs in all of us as many familiar shops we all loved have left us here The Complete Kitchen in Kahala Mall has remained here at the same spot that I've always know and going strong. I've purchased many many items here including knives, covers for my knives, and many many maaaaany tools that have been a blessing for mostly work as the right items does make this more efficient as well as saving time and money and I have yet to find anywhere on this island is priceless...one was a tomato corer for $5 which turned out to be for strawberries with ergonomical handle and it sounds hilarious but using it for work has saved me from hideous callouses. Over the years they have quite the impressive merchandise to make gifting fun as well with some Spam, Hello Kitty, many local items or that fun candle to make that celebration a little extra special. A cook and gadget lovers heaven! So much to see and look at. I walked in and compleatly ;) forgot what I went there for. I did remember to take my Kahala Mall 30% off coupon. Every type of kitchen gadget, tool, utensil, decorating, mixes, pour over coffee makers and so much more! My favorite were the different flavorings for baking as well as the pancake and Mochi waffle mixes. They also have lots of Hawaii products like towels and pot holders. Wow. Some of the help here have apparently no idea what cooking or baking involves. A few staff know what's up and best to seek them out. They are the ones who don't give you a quizzical look when you mention a bread knife or an instant read thermometer for example. We decided to browse in Compleat Kitchen while we waited. Compleat Kitchen has been around for a while. My friends recently texted me about the new Hello Kitty merchandise here... aprons, rice cooker, containers, etc. just arrived! So cute! This store also has attractive face masks, kitchen gadgets, pots and pans, appliances, cutlery, and more! My sister found a brush to clean her reusable straws! I found a monkey clip which is perfect for a birthday gift! We all found the service to be exceptional! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They shared with us all of the features of everything we were interested in. They even told us about the current Instagram contest and benefits of being on the email list! Wow, what a great find of a store. Located inside the Kahala mall, my sister walked in The Compleat Kitchen store and never came out... She made a total of 6 trips in 1 visit because we couldn't stop buying kitchen supplies. I don't blame her because this store is awesome! They have a large variety of kitchen supplies, knives, rice cookers, and baking supplies that you can easily spend an hour in there. Although items are final sale, prices are extremely reasonable. Staff is super friendly and helpful as they're always asking if they can help us look for something (probably because we never left). It's a great store to stop in for gifts or getting culinary goods for yourself. We will be back! read more

It was like a small Japanese kitchen section of Bed Bath & Beyond but more specialized for all things kitchen. Got a very high quality cutting board that I've never seen anywhere else for only $50. Do I need a Hello Kitty Ceramic Peeler? Uhhh, sure? Do I need a miniature size coffee set with the smallest strainer, a scoop, and etc. that'll fit on my key chain? That....could be useful in certain times. Do I need Pickle picker? Ok! I'll use this instead of chopsticks! Who doesn't love to fill their kitchens with a tool for every single thing one can think of? You'll also need a containers for each specific fruit so it just fits oh so perfectly. Now you see why this store is called "The Compleat Kitchen." It's not complete until you have everything! This store has been around for a very long time, and has always been in Kahala Mall. At least 30-35 years, or even longer than that. For this place to survive so many years is amazing. It's really the only kitchen supply store. Of course, you can go to Macy's and Ross (or Amazon) for similar things, but there's so much variety and things you didn't even believe it existed (or believe anyone would buy it). It is very pricey here, and some seem utterly ridiculous, but most of the items are quality, brand name items with some unique items. I would personally never buy anything from here because I can find quality items myself without spending an arm and a leg. But I've browsed numerous times before. This time, I finally purchased one thing. It was during a sidewalk sale with 50% off items lol. The store is always clean and organized. The staff here are very friendly and personable. Not many choices for a local brick & mortar kitchen accessory store anymore. Lucky for us Compleat Kitchen is conveniently located in Kahala Mall with free parking. We have patronized this shop on and off for more specialized kitchenware and we lucked out this weekend as Kahala Mall was celebrating something and select stores in The Compleat Kitchen was offering 30% off purchases of $25 or more. We were waiting to purchase a new mandolin as our ancient plastic Japanese one which served us well was starting to show its age. After calling ahead to make sure there was a selection in stock we entered the store and we're immediately greeted by staff who directed us to the mandolin, graters, peelers, zesters section. Only 2 to choose from but I had done my research and opted for the Kyocera-ceramic so it didn't rust and was impervious to acidic food. Also picked up a silicone scraper in place of using the back end of my knife to scrape chopped veggies into a pan or mixing bowl. An interesting excursion with a positive outcome at a discount to boot. Local business, friendly and helpful service and a good product selection at fair prices. The place is packed with every gizmo and gadget your heart could desire, and a nice blend of local artisanal foods, pre-made mixes, enough tourist goodies so if you are on vacation or need to send Hawaii stuff to mainland co-workers and family, a great selection of pots and pans, Japanese appliances from first rate name brands, and knives that will make you finally part with that Ginsu and step up to real samurai potential... as in, the works! One could even say, compleat! Kahala Mall tends to be my "it's raining, let's go shopping indoors" kinda mall, but it's also got that old school shopping mall kinda feel, and much more local feel than Ala Moana (okay, Ala Moana on the "luxe" level - go down under or up top and you got where us locals go... but I digress, we're shopping for kitchen gadgets, and no can find like this at Ala Moana). If you have a person that loves to cook at home, they would love this place. Every nook amd cranny is cramped and filled with gadgets and gizmos galore. I came because I was done using unwaxed dental floss for tying my roasts. I wanted real deal twine again. We walked in and browsed for a little. I asked where the twine was, and the clerk was able to point to the exact location. In fact, for a crowded cramped store, they sure knew where their items were. We browsed around more and saw cooking utensils, pots, pans, organization tools, cookie cutters I've been looking for and other things. As we lined to pay, 2 clerks let us know to remind the cashier our items qualify for 20% thanksgiving items discount. Pretty cool! Overall, it was not as neat as William Sonoma but the they had lots of cooking gadgets and utensila that were much more affordable. Very Disappointed (Buyer Beware - if you break it you pay for it and don't touch the SPAM fly swatter it's defective ). I don't frequent this store because I don't really cook but always walk by and admire the wonderful things they have or their lovely window displays it always catches my eye. Well yesterday i needed a gift and decided to finally walk in. The first sales associate I encountered was lovely and helpful, and I found a great little gift purchased it and was very happy. In the meantime my cousin was also shopping- she found a few needed things. As an afterthought she asked if they had any fly swatters and another associate grabbed it and handed it to me. Long story short as I was demonstrating how to use it (waving it in the air as if i were going to hit a fly) the cheaply made handle broke and I was reluctantly yet forced by another associate to buy it. Thank goodness it was only a few dollars and the clerk even offered a 10% off discount (lol) for the broken item. The kicker was that the gimmick on this item is that it is supposed to be a SPAM marketing product but even that was defective. On closer inspection the S was only half printed and it said PAM. I live in Mililani, and when there is an impossible to find kitchen item I need, Compleat Kitchen comes to mind but since it is in Kahala Mall, unfortunately this place is my last resort since it is so far away. This time, I needed a certain cookie cutter, it was too late to order on-line, and everywhere on my end of the island didn't have it. So here I am at Compleat Kitchen and talk about cookie cutter's galore! I found what I needed and then some... I refused to grab a shopping basket because I swore to myself it is all I'm getting, but making my way to the cashier I had an arm full of items which I really didn't need but couldn't pass up. I went in to buy myself a knife set and was amazed at the variety of knives and accessories they offered. The Compleat Kitchen had a plethora of knives, but the ones that stuck out to me the most were the Shun, Wusthof and Zwilling knives. All of their knives are on display for you to see and the store manager was awesome enough to allow me to hold some too. Customer service wise, he was kind and very informative in what I would be getting with each product. And something else I want to add in this review is that they gave me a 10% discount on my knife set because I was a worker in the culinary field! So culinary students and workers should definitely come on by. Overall, no complaints. Who the heck goes around and looks for ice trays? Yes that would be me! This store located in Kahala Mall between In My Closet and Carousel Candyland. Jam packed with a lot of smaller items that boggles the mind, well at least my mind. O_o When I'm in need of small unique kitchen utensils, soup mixes,assorted pancake mixes, unique bottled sauces or local flavored jams this is my go to place. I would love to own some of those beautiful Swiss Diamond Cookware that CK carries. *Hint Hint* This adventure to CK I was looking for Ice Trays because trays I've been using finally cracked and the new ones I had in storage cracked also, must have been a 100yrs old..haha! I must be living in a cave because a lot of ice trays currently made are with silicone...silicone?? It's makes it easier to pop those suckers out by pushing on the bottom of the tray...Ahem! $10 ice trays..Yikes. I did purchase those suckers and have used them for a bit, but you know what? Sometimes simple is better! I knew I wouldn't have much time when I noticed the store had already pulled the gates into position to close up shop, but I also knew what I was looking for and asked where the can openers were located. The woman guarding the store entrance allowed me in and gestured to the nearby wall. Yes! Just what I was looking for, but there were other models to consider too. As I was looking the woman came over to ask if I needed help, but they were going to close in a few minutes. I got the message and the attitude. I imagine that the management doesn't allow much latitude when dealing with any overtime. I think there were just two ladies working tonight. I gave two stars as a good faith gesture that I came in just before closing, and I did get what I was looking for. One star is what is really deserved for poor customer service during store hours. And what's with the All Sales Final policy? I've been in personal services, hospitality, and retail management 23 years so I know good customer service and tonight I wasn't feeling it. This store has changed their policy to ALL SALES FINAL "except for defective items." When we attempted to return a defective item (an $85 pair of shears, after spending over $160 at the store) for an exchange or refund but the manager (Richard) refused. His claims are that the store itself is not the vendor, and they cannot determine defectiveness, and because the another package would need to be opened they couldn't exchange. Instead, they want take the item from you and make you wait for the manufacturer or "their vendor" to determine if it's really defective. How does one check an item for being defective if they cannot open a package? How can someone be working at a kitchen tool store and not realize that expensive pair of scissors shouldn't catch itself on its edges (making a clicking noise and wearing out the corner)? It is absurd that the store wouldn't consider themselves the vendor! They also called security to ensure the customer doesn't argue with them. This happened the moment I expressed my frustration with the process. There was no threat of violence, no cussing, no accusations, no yelling. I will no longer be giving this business my patronage and I hope you won't either. This type of service is what drives local people to buy online instead. Update: The manager finally decided to give a refund after much banter back and forth and with four security guards standing around. Due to the terrible experience and the fact they felt security needed to be called in order to "ensure a peaceful transaction" I will still no longer shop here. All this for the end result I requested in the first place: A refund or exchange. Good bye, Compleat Kitchen. You've lost a years loyal customer today. read more

Compleat Kitchen is more of a knick knack place where you can find lots of cool kitchen utensils and aids that make prepping, cooking, baking, storing, and serving easier and fun! Pot holders, spice mills, knife sets, etc. but I didn't buy anything because as I was taking a picture to send to my roommate one of the employees came and told me off for taking too many pictures. This is the worse place for impulse buyers. I was glued to a whole table arrangement of gizmos & thingamajigs like doll-sized whisks, two-inch graters perfect for calamanci & other unnecessary things that make you wonder why it's even made in the first place. I saw a pig measuring spoon set that plopped within each other like the wooden, Russian nestling dolls. I just had to buy it. The Compleat Kitchen features a collection of novelty utensils, kitchen tools, pots & pans & cookie cutters of practically any shape you can think of. There're shelves stocked with shave ice flavoring, icing in every color, sprinkles that would make a little girl squeal & wall fulls of seasonings, salad dressing & jams. There're too many choices for just one item that make it difficult for indecisive individuals to make a satisfactory decision. It's better to just browse then buy, especially since prices can be quite steep. The store is jam-packed & cramped as it may be hard for more than one person to fit in certain aisle. I don't think its ADA accessible... My advice for impulse buyers is to peruse the store, make a mental checklist of what you'd want & refrain from buying anything this first round. Then go to Ross upstairs & see if they carry something similar which'll be more affordable. If not, then go ahead, buy yourself that thing you really don't need because it's just too cute not to buy. read more

Got some mini flower cookie cutters here that I couldn't find elsewhere, the set of 3 was a bit over $4. The lady was helpful in finding the stuff for me but my husband thought they were selling too hard. But that's their job, right? To sell their kitchen stuff? Some stuff is well-priced, some stuff is not. For example, there was a cupcake shaped timer that was about $18,which I felt was too much for a piece of plastic shaped like a cupcake. But maybe some do not agree. The kids like seeing the food displays which appear to be real cakes, somewhat deflated, in the windows, perhaps sprayed with something? Frankly, they are unappetizing and they start looking a little funky after awhile, but their imperfection amuses me. read more

The SPAM window display reeled us in. We thought the SPAM slicer was genius and a great gift for our SPAM loving family on the mainland. Then we walked in and realized there were a whole lotta gadgets in the store that we could put to good use! Unfortunately, we can't afford everything, so one item per visit. Haha! We ended up with something that we actually really needed: a ceramic vegetable peeler. Our previous one worked very well, but broke recently. The price ended up to be ~$15 after a 10% military discount. Cool! You name it, they have it. Some of the unique items I saw were a musical birthday candle holder, tabletop yakiniku-like grills, mugs, soup bowls, dish scrubbers, muffin cups, knives, magnets, shave ice flavorings, spices, and more! Whenever I walk into stores like this, I always say "Why didn't I think of this?!" Since my husband is in the food service industry and enjoys being the cook in the kitchen, I'm sure we will frequent this store every time we visit Kahala Mall! I love their foldable recycle bags from Japan. A bit pricey but so worth it. I needed a few for gifts and when I called asking if they we're still in stock, the sales woman was so friendly and helpful. Then when I went into the store, the man that rang up my sale was also very friendly! Then the woman saw what I bought and asked if I was the one that called. Amazing customer service! Dang. Compleat Kitchen's cutesy kitchenware finally caught me impulse buying. I walked into the store in need of only one item but their cute display of assorted cup lids screamed "buy me!" " buy me!" So I caved in and bought one for the office. Normally I would balk at paying $11 for such a silly non-essential item but I felt a need and sense of longing for something frilly and whimsical to calm me down from the high stress, fast paced demand that is my work environment. Maybe I should have gotten one that was less girly-girl but the Hello Kitty one serves a dual function as a cover and tea bag holder. The silicone lid keeps hot liquids warm just a bit longer. But I like the fact that it keeps dust and what have you nots out of my beverage. I am happy with my purchase. read more
