We stopped in for dinner at Citizen and the service and food were both excellent. They are located in the town square area with some patio seating out front. For apps we had the whipped feta with naan and oysters and both were awesome. For dinner we had short rib , the filet and snapper. While all were great and had unique preparations and sides the short rib was the standout.

We made a reservation online and came on time. Although our parties were a few minutes apart, we weren't able to be seated until the whole group was here. The hosts seemed a bit snobby which I didn't appreciate. Our server was friendly. Food was fine, I didn't think it was bad but it wasn't stand out to me considering the price- again typical for touristy areas.

Pricey oysters for happy hour ($32 for a dozen), but very tasty and fun to sit at the oyster bar and watch them shuck on the spot. They serve the oysters with various sauces to try and horseradish to ask separately. Overall, nice environment for a chill oyster experience.

Highly recommend the Citizen. All around wonderful experience, good drinks, service and the patio has great vibes. The schnitzel was amazing, so was the palm sugar seared tuna-this is served cold.

I really enjoyed this establishment. I felt it delivered exactly what I was expecting. Great atmosphere at the seafood bar for a martini and of course we needed to order oysters and they were perfect. We continued with the she crab soup, soup and pasta with mushrooms and pork belly. The pasta was excellent and we took half of it with us and had it cold for lunch the next day and loved it just the same. Nice expierence.

We loved dining at The Citizen! The wild gulf fish was spectacular and we also loved the oysters, mashed potatoes, drinks, and key lime pie! Service was great and it was not too busy when we got there at 4:30. We got in on Oyster Happy hour then stayed for dinner!

This place is amazing! We sat on the patio area and the environment is so cute and beachy! We ordered the whipped feta and shrimp cocktail and they were both fabulous, as well as yummy martinis! We had the lobster tail and catch of the day options and YUM! Also amazing photo opportunities in the area LOVED IT !!!!

Oysters were phenomenal! Waitress was very kind and attentive. Chowder was the best I ever had. I would say mocktail totally not worth it, $14 for what tasted like water sadly... had a verryyyy extended wait for our dessert, which was a little underwhelming. Probably wouldn't get the shrimp appetizer again, not the best. But the food/service/vibe outweighed those things given my 5 star. Would definitely come back

Southern Eggs Benedict--well worth a try!
    Chad M.

The Southern Eggs Benedict was one of the most delicious riffs on an Eggs Benedict I've ever eaten. Pork shoulder was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned, cheddar biscuits would've been amazing alone and were a glorious choice for the bread base, perfectly cooked eggs, and a tangy hollandaise...amazing. Aside from that gem, the overall menu looked similarly excellent, lots of choices for lots of tastes. Cocktails were quite enjoyable. Ambiance is comfortably elegant--bright and welcoming (I see where one reviewer commented on acoustics, and I could see that as an issue with a crowd, but it was fine while I was there). Service was exceptional--welcoming, attentive, helpful. Would very much recommend this spot (and, yes, like a lot of things in the area, it's on the pricier side, but not to where I'm shocked given where it's located and the quality).

My second time dining here and I had one of the best dinners yet, at The Citizen. The right ambience, wonderful design, food, and service are the ingredients to happiness! Sebastian and David were beyond hospitable and had so much authentic enthusiasm explaining the menu offerings and all things Alys Beach. Mint Ty cocktail with three different rums was distinctive and so very good. Hats off to the chef. I'd recommend the shrimp ceviche with Gulf prawns, a smattering of mango, shallots, and peppers, served with the most comforting and delicious warmed buttered saltine crackers. WOW! Main dish was pork tenderloin over a bed of polenta, buttery roasted butternut squash medallions and sautéed vegetables.

Absolutely stunning inside and out! Loved having drinks at the patio before dinner. The service was good and the food was nothing to die for but tasty (depending on what you get) definitely recommend making reservations for a bigger group.

What is the dress code for dinner?

Women would be fine in a nice sun dress and for guys nice shorts work, but I wore khakis.

    Do they have valet parking?

There should be a valet but if you get there they have self parking as well. The area is stunning so it's worth coming early to walk around.

Right when we arrived, we were walked to our table, which was a booth and was plenty of room for the 5 of us. When we were walking to our table, I noticed how nice this restaurant was! The ambiance was on point. Very nice but not too nice. Our waiter immediately addressed us when we sat down and gave us his recommendations for drinks. I decided on the peach Paloma spritz. It was delicious and well presented. Others in my party got red wine, a French 75 and the market ranch water. I thought mine was the most delicious lol. Before we ordered our appetizers, the waiter was so beyond knowledgeable about the whole menu. Gave us all of the specials like nothing I have ever heard before. He was so great! For our appetizers, we got the bread butter candle, smoked fish dip, and the burrata salad. The bread butter candle was the best thing I've ever had! It was so cool and very unique. I absolutely loved the burrata salad, but I thought the fish dip was a tad too fishy for me. For our entrees, most of the table got the red fish and the other two got the steak and the pasta. We all devoured the red fish! It was so delicious and a good portion. Others in my pastry weren't fans of the pasta, but the steak was one of the best I've ever tasted. From the service to the food to the ambiance, this place is one of my favorites I've ever dined at! I can't wait to come back!

The atmosphere is elegant and refined, offering a true fine dining experience, but it's still comfortable and welcoming. Many guests were dressed in nice shorts and resort attire, so there's no need to feel overly formal. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We highly recommend the crab soup and the crab cake--both were absolutely exceptional. For our entrees, the seared tuna and the seared scallops were perfectly prepared and among the best we've had. While the dessert menu is somewhat limited, both desserts we ordered were delicious and a wonderful way to end the meal. The real standout, though, was our server, Nancy. She struck the perfect balance between attentive service and giving us space to enjoy our evening. Her warm personality and genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable while allowing our family to relax and enjoy a wonderful dinner together with our two teenage daughters. Cafe 30A is the kind of restaurant that turns a great meal into a memorable evening. We would absolutely return the next time we're in the Seagrove Beach area.

We had a party of about 15 people, and while the evening had some bright spots, it unfortunately didn't live up to what we had hoped would be a memorable celebration. Earlier that morning, we called and made a reservation for our large group. Later in the day, we called back simply to confirm that a high chair would be available for one of the babies in our party, only to be told that there wasn't a reservation under our name. It was a stressful start, especially with such a large group to coordinate. Thankfully, when we arrived, the staff was able to accommodate us with outdoor seating, and we were grateful they found a way to fit us in. Our server was kind, and I understand that serving a party our size isn't easy. That said, service throughout the meal was quite slow, and there were several mix ups. Some guests waited a long time for drinks, a few orders were missed initially, and it took quite a while before everyone had their meals. The cocktails, however, were excellent. Our table ordered espresso martinis, margaritas, and several other drinks, and those were definitely a highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment for our group. The appetizer portions were much smaller than we expected, and overall, most of us weren't particularly impressed with the quality of our meals. Considering we were celebrating such a special occasion, we had hoped the food would be just as memorable as the setting. Proper is in a beautiful location, and I do appreciate that the staff was ultimately able to accommodate our large party after the reservation mix up. Based on our experience, though, I think this is probably a better spot for drinks and a couple of small bites than it is for a large celebratory dinner. While I'm glad we gave it a try, I don't think it's a place we'll be returning to.
