Well, you can't go to Hershey Pennsylvania and not check out Hershey Park, now can you? I'm not really into rollercoasters, but I'm definitely into chocolate martinis! So when looking for a spot to check out, this was one of the top on my list! Finding it was a bit tricky, but once I did, it was worth it. When you walk in you are in a gift shop. It looks comparable to any other amusement park gift shop. To the left is an ice cream shop. But it's off season so it was closed. Up the stairs is the chocolatier. It was fairly empty as I mentioned, it's off season. I chose to get the chocolate martini flight and I highly recommend this. Everything was delicious. They told us to wait as the "table was not ready." We ordered drinks at the bar and were seated 10 minutes later. Long story short, it's 8:05 and our main course is still not here. We. Had reservations but really didn't need them on this visit as it was not too busy. I can tell this place does get busy in the summer so book ahead if that is the season you go. I didn't go with high hopes as this is the restaurant attached to the park but the food was excellent. On the menu they mark items that are made with a candy based item. Hubs got the Reese's chicken sandwich and a Reese's old fashion. Delicious. I had a red stripe Martini and wings. After a long day in the park this was the perfect way to end the night. read more

This was our first time here and we came with a game plan to eat little to save room for dessert knowing that would be more gratifying. My wife and I split the Ferris wheel appetizer tower that comes with your basic fried food apps and we both thought it was average. The cheesy corn dip was our favorite. As expected, dessert was the highlight and we got the Chocolatier cake. It comes in a Hershey kiss mold skillet and the cookie was nice and warm and the cookie dough ice cream was delicious. They also have really extravagant milkshakes that I saw going to other tables. Overall, the food and desserts are on the pricier side, so where you can share I would recommend. For dinner at Hershey Park, I went to the restaurant closest to the entrance which was the chocolatier. Our server was wonderful and she took a picture of me and my friends. As an appetizer the Burrata chocolate drizzled tomatoes and cucumber was amazing. We sat on a booth and it was cool to see the chefs making dishes at the side of the restaurant. I got the chocolate burger with potato chips and bacon inside. It comes with fries as well as a side. It was perfectly cooked medium rare. The dessert is chocolate crème brûlée which tastes AMAZING. Not too sweet and a good amount. The price is on the higher end, with the burger being 20$ and crème brûlée around 10$. read more

The Chocolatier is an experience. Firstly, make your reservations in advance and allow plenty of extra time for parking and the walk from the lot to the restaurant. Also booking earlier is better because the chances of your wait time will be decreased. We arrived around 20 minutes late and were still able to be seated after waiting about 10 minutes. There was a large crowd, so expect to have some type of wait or even possibly be turned down without a reservation. The food is mediocre and average. My husband had the chocolate infused bbq wings and said they were just okay. We both tried the martini flights and they tasted like bottom shelf liquor with a hint of chocolate. They were difficult to digest. Next time I'd try a totally different drink or maybe just the Reese's martini. I had the shrimp tacos. They were served below temp, like barely warm, and weren't flavorful. The kids meal was ok. The service was fine. This establishment is taking in money because of the name, the park and location, but don't be fooled, the food is below average and you'll pay a pretty penny for it. Would we go back? This is a great place to have lunch while visiting Hershey park! My son and I got a grilled salmon dish off the kids menu and a Hershey burger with bacon, cheese and pulled pork off the regular menu. Everything tasted delicious, and the portions were plentiful. In my opinion, this is a much better option than the food inside the park. I came to Hershey for the day with my family and it did NOT disappoint! We came to the Chocolatier for lunch and right away I was amazed with how amazing and clean everything was. Right when we sat down we were accompanied by our waitress who was so kind. I ordered a did my traditional bathroom visit and I was blown away. Not just by the hand dryers but by how impressed I was. I did my business and when I got back the food came out. The chocolatier burger was out of this world, the Philly cheesesteak flatbread was killer, and the chips and dip were awesome. You are paying for the location when eating here. This is the perfect place for families to get stuck eating at after a day in the park obviously but wow what a trap. The prices are high and the food is mediocre. ( I only ordered dessert and regretted it) This is a pure theme park restaurant with meals that are more than likely frozen and reheated. I sat at the bar as a solo traveler and waited 10 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. I then waited another 14 minutes for her to stop counting her tip money and ask what I wanted to eat. I was honestly hesitant to come here because of the reviews but my first experience here wasn't bad at all. We didn't have any reservations but the wait time was only 15 minutes. They did an awesome job accommodating our group. I wasn't too hungry so I settled for a side of sweet potato fries and bbq pulled pork nachos. I have no complaints. Solid food and amazing cocktails. Everything is obviously infused with chocolate. They also pay homage to the history of the park with old ride cars and parts used for seating and decor. Also, look the lighting decor and you might notice some of the coasters. The house salad is amazing. Also order the Reeces cup cocktail with Skrewball whiskey. Friendly service and surprisingly good food for a theme park restaurant! We were doing a weekend birthday trip for my husband at Hershey Park, and the day after we went to the park, we stopped by at the Chocolatier for lunch before we drove home. Make sure to book a reservation ahead of time and it's easier to get a reservation earlier in the day before the lunch rush; we called at around 11 am and booked an 11:45 am lunch. Some of the food was quite good such as the pretzel dip and Ferris wheel of appetizers, which also made for great photos. My favorite item was the chocolate sauce ribs - they were a sizeable portion and it was a unique chocolate-themed item that tasted juicy and well-flavored. Some items were odd like both the Chocolatetown burger and Reeses peanut butter burger, the combination of flavors simply tasted weird. My friends got some alcoholic drinks which were either a hit or miss, and I shared a milkshake with my husband. Great addition to the park. We sat outside on the patio after a long park day. We had a number of food allergies at the table, including gluten and nuts. Everyone was able to eat safely (and drink too)! The martinis are delicious. They have several gluten free options such as flatbreads on GF dough and GF buns for burgers- but shared fryer for fries. There are also salad options. I got a flatbread and it was delicious. There were two amazing looking burgers at the table and chicken and waffles too. The server was kind and helpful, but she needed a little more understanding of gluten free vs gluten friendly (not a big deal but I can get sick so I have to ask specific questions ). The theme is excellent. From booths that say Comet to tilt-a-whirl tables to carousel horses at the bar it definitely feels like it belongs in amusement park. Yet it's not overwhelming. The menu seemed somewhat smaller than I expected but still had great offerings. Perhaps there's more offerings in the summer. I had pretzel bites with cheese and dejon mustard. The cheese was fantastic and the mustard was great as well. The chicken alfredo was excellent. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the alfredo was excellent. I'm torn. Last summer we visited The Chocolate Emporium at Universal Studios, Orlando and the food and drinks were outstanding. Like top tier creative and decadent. On this trip to Hershey Park we decided to make reservations the night before our visit to check it out. Immediately we saw that it was a fun place, but the theming and look were far from the similar place in Orlando. There were nods to rides in the park, which were cute. We were seated and it took a bit for the server to approach but I noticed she had several tables and one very large party. Once she came over she was very attentive and enjoyable. We opted for the chocolate martini flight which ended up getting us buzzed pretty quickly! They were delicious. For entrees I chose the Reese's Peanut Butter Burger. Now, years ago I discovered the joy of adding PB to a burger. IYKYK. This did not disappoint. A slight hint of chocolate and peanut butter, but a beautiful crunch from peanuts spread across the bottom bun. This crunch replaced what you might normally get from an onion or lettuce. The fries were great too, even if I could have used more of them. The second entree is where I dropped my rating down. Hubs ordered the "Loaded" Mac and Cheese which from the description sounded amazing. Cavatinni pasta in cheese sauce with Cocoa rubbed pulled pork. What arrived was pasta in a cheese sauce with a few bits of meat sprinkled through. It certainly was not loaded, but it was in a cute Hershey Kiss shaped cast iron skillet. The pasta was well cooked and the cheese sauce *was* delicious, but this dish was nowhere near loaded. Would we go back? Probably not. It was fun for a one time thing but it's a bit pricey for what you get. I mean, it's attached to a theme park, so you expect that. We came as a party of 4 ( 2 toddlers) and waited 45 mins for food. The restaurant was not busy. I asked the waiter about our food he said he would check. The restaurant overlooks the gift shop and with the amount of kids screaming in there it gets really annoying. We were seated closest to this. I think farther back in the restaurant would be fine. The side salad I received was wilted and dry. The $17.50 milk shake my wife ordered was good but it came 35 mins before our meals. The my Cuban sandwich was very soggy and her chicken sandwich was very dry. It required a side of sauce to be edible. The fries were soggy and the ketchup bottle on table was sticky and empty. The hostess was fine. Our waiter was very attentive but looked homeless. His uniform was way too big, dirty and was unkempt. Sorry but we are trying to eat. My family comes to Hershey every Christmas season, so we decided to make reservations at the Chocolatier again. I really love that there is an option for a nice, sit down restaurant right outside the park! We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time. Our server was nice and took our drink/appetizer order right away. The soft pretzel bites were so good! They came out right away and were the perfect app. The cheese sauce and honey mustard dips were a great addition. Our entrees took a while to come out. Once we got them though, everyone enjoyed them! I went with the Take 5 Reese's chicken sandwich. I was skeptical, but intrigued! I'm so happy I got it. I loved the pretzel bun and the peanut butter sauce and jalapeno caramel were awesome! The peanut butter sauce was similar to a thai peanut sauce and the bacon with chocolate drizzle was not chocolatey at all to me... more of just a salty/sweet flavor. We had 2 amazing days at Hershey Park and had to make reservations for the Chocolatier with their chocolate forward menu. The location is about the store and there is outside seating as well. The restaurant itself is very cute with the carousel horses at the bar and booths that are old rides seating. We got to sit in the circular dome booth which I had recorded but lost the video. I read other reviews that said the food was overrated and overpriced but I needed to see for myself. We were a party of 5 and stuck to apps as we were going back into the park for more fun and snacks. The short rib flatbread was very tasty and reasonably priced. I loved the crunchy onions topping it. We also got the pulled pork fries which were really good. Both had the chocolate bbq sauce which was very tasty and not chocolate heavy. My niece got a salad and the raspberry chocolate dressing was really good!!! The drinks were impressive and so yummy we got the martini flight and all were great and the next day I got the frozen chocolatier which was amazing and refreshing. I liked the layout of the restaurant with an open kitchen to view the food being prepared and the wall of Hershey history by the restrooms. I was disappointed with the food. For the price, I thought it should taste a lot better and be unique. I specifically ordered a dish that incorporated chocolate, expecting a ton of flavor. It was just a normal steak and normal mashed potatoes and normal carrots. They were stingy with sauces for appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I didn't find anything wrong with service or ambience but nothing was super amazing either. My review score is based solely on my disappointment with flavor--or lack thereof. Another member of my party said her chicken was dry and tough as well. A different member ordered a cheeseburger and said it was great though. So it probably depends on what you order and your expectations. If you're looking for Food Network worthy dishes, try another restaurant. If you're at the park and hungry, maybe just order a cheeseburger and a milkshake. NOTE: We had a person with mobility issues in our party and we went when the park was not opened. Parking for this restaurant is NOT ADA acceptable. There is a LOT of walking and there are stairs (a ramp is there but it's a long walk). I ended up driving onto the tram lane to pick up the member of my party who had difficulty walking distances. Luckily the park was not open so I was able to make this illegal traffic maneuver. DEFINITELY MAKE A RESERVATION! Walk-ins are not guaranteed depending on the how busy the restaurant is. I've been there 3 times now,and the food quality is hit or miss. I've seen some people just go for the drinks, but Honestly, their mocktails are better than their adult beverages. The adult beverages taste like alcohol without much flavor. The ferris wheel is A LOT of food. Definitely worth the money. IMO, skip the grilled chicken options. The chicken is dry and flavorless. Filet mignon meal was great, but definitely on the pricey side. If they're cooked long enough, the cocoa dusted carrots are delicious! The last time, around Halloween, the carrots were hard and undercooked. Disappointing. Loaded fries are yummy, and my sister raves about the crispy chicken and mashed potatoes. Their potatoes are so good, we ordered a to-go portion. Always great service in the main restaurant area. The Friday before Halloween, we had to sit in the bar area even though tables were not being used in the restaurant. We felt ignored and sensed an attitude from one of the female bartenders there. We decided to just order a ferris wheel and some drinks. Alcoholic Drinks were nasty, and definitely not worth the price. Hopefully on November 29th, the food will be better. read more

This was a truly disappointing $400 experience. I made a reservation for a family outing to celebrate my brother and sister-in-law's birthdays, as we all traveled to celebrate with our parents and kids. We were seated late, with hungry kids in tow. We asked for the kids entrees to come out at the same time as appetizers - 40 minutes later, no server in sight, we tracked down someone, and then the food came out. Two minutes later (no exaggeration) the adult entrees came out. My mother's steak was cold - and it didn't come back until after everyone else had finished their food. At no point was there an apology. No food was comped. We were given a pittance of a discount. There was no consideration of timing with 4 kids under 5. My husband and sister-in-law's birthdays were ruined by this unfortunate experience. I would never, ever recommend this restaurant - and shame on the management. read more
