The food was the highlight. Nothing was bad, but the experience finding the restaurant was hectic. It is inside of a hotel and the parking lot is setup for a sports complex nearby. So there was a lot of confusion pulling in. The worst experience I had here was there are no restaurant dedicated bathrooms. We happened to be there during some sporting event so when I went into the hotels bathroom (the only one available to restaurant customers) I saw a group of 5 kids smoking and a referee using the urinal with his pants down. Average experience. Friday for lunch, not crowded only about 3 other tables. I like the decor/style and openness of the layout. Our waiter was nice. We had to ask about the soup of the day - it would be nice if they told you this as soon as you are seated. Service was slow, it took a long time for them to make two salads. And on top of that they forgot my chicken on the salad. Prices are high. Small menu but enough to find something you would like. Interested recipes, not your every day selections. I totally recommend "Forklift & Palate" for so,so many reasons but these are just a couple. First of all, the food deserves 5 stars times a million. The Karate Chop Salad is amazing, along with the wings. The salad was crisp, perfect amount of flavor, mixed with a phenomenal dressing, and the wings were meaty and crunchy and so, so delicious. The service is almost as good as the food! I ordered my food at 12:45 and got it at 12:53! My server was even better than the service! In fact, the whole staff is incredible! Perhaps it depends on what time of the day you visit Forklift and Palate (considering some of the less than stellar reviews here), but my cousin recommended we visit for lunch during my last visit down to area. Apparently, she eats here somewhat frequently and has had generally good experiences. As for my own experience at Forklift and Palate, I certainly enjoyed it enough to come back and at least try it again. The restaurant wasn't very crowded during the time we went for lunch (probably around 1pm-ish?), and our server was pretty attentive during our entire time there. My cousin and I ordered a couple of smaller dishes to split between us, including the Bavarian Pretzels, pierogies, ravioli, and one or two other dishes (can you tell we skipped breakfast that morning?). Coffees too, of course. The food was generally tasty, though the pierogies could have been hotter at the time they were served...my inner pierogi-snob (thanks, babcia!) has me assuming they just came out of a bag of frozen pierogies. Hmm... I mean, either way? I like the ambience of the place and don't really have any real complaints. Not stellar, but certainly an enjoyable visit. I'd certainly go back and try it again for dinner or something. Also, they have fried pickle chips on the menu, which I didn't get to try last time... and I'm convinced you can tell a lot about the quality of a place by the crispiness and overall quality of their fried pickle chips. Sooooo, this place is empty. It seems there's a line to be seated (no hostess anywhere to be found). When she shows up, says there's a wait for a table because they're holding out for large parties. Staying in the Warehouse hotel makes this restaurant convenient, but it's also worth a visit because of their delicious food. They have a decent list of beers, wines, and cocktails. I enjoyed the Mango Martini; it was sweet and I loved the sugar on the rim. All the meals my family ordered were delicious, including my pulled pork sandwich with blackberry habenero sauce. The sauce wasn't spicy, but slightly sweet and the Cole slaw had a nice pickled flavor to accompany the sandwich. The fries were a little soft for my preference, but good. The burgers we ordered were all really good. Because of Covid, they served ketchup packets to us to avoid contamination with bottles on the tables. My only complaint was that we had to wait 45 minutes for a table and just as long for our food. We walked around the arena while waiting, so it was worth it. read more

She did have this corrected, however I didn't appreciate her knocking a nacho out of my hand as I showed her how little meat was there and she did not apologize for it. No manager came over after we sent a dish back. Strange. Nachos were ok. Didn't really like the texture & taste of the tortilla chips and wasn't crazy about the cheese sauce. Kids loved the spinach dip and pita bread that went with it. I thought it was silly that half a pita was cut up for the 5 of us and had to ask for more. We had to park at (mind you were handicapped and have a registered licence plate) over 100 yards away since they hold a lot of events at the sporting venue in the same building. We went for breakfast and the cook doesn't know how to cook eggs. We asked for over medium and they came fried( no yoke). Sent them back and the second time broken again with a drop of yoke in one. Gave up at that point and ate them. They also had no flavor at all. Lightest yokes I've ever seen. The potatoes were deep fried and English muffin chewy and barely toasted. The oatmeal on the other hand was better than most and the wife's guacamole toast was enjoyable for her. The waitress was very friendly and was always with a smile. How often do you get to say that you stayed and ate in a massive repurposed warehouse? There's some good conversation material so let's talk Forklift and Palate. The Chicken Sandwich was tender and juicy. The sweet jalapeños give the sandwich a variety of flavor with each bite. The fries were nice and crisp, though they were a bit over salted. The taste was there so I still polished them off. My fellow diners got the Cheese Steak Egg Rolls and a Pierogi dish on special. Both looked interesting but I was glad I'd gone with the sandwich. You'll likely notice how the Nook repurposed just about everything from the old warehouse for the restaurant. Kudos on that. The name and materials give the restaurant a fun vibe. Meeting the head chef, you can also tell how much he cares and enjoys what he does. He has a strong culinary background and you'll see that come through in the foods he creates for the Nook's special events. read more

We had visited on Monday and it was actually pretty dead, with only a few other tables, great time to try this place out! When it came to service, it was excellent! The waitress was friendly and very attentive, checking in a good amount throughout the visit. The food? It was done very quickly! We had gotten the shrimp and calamari appetizer which came freshly from the fryer, and was good and crispy. We had also gotten the turkey sandwich along with pulled pork sandwich which both came with fries. Both of these sandwiches were juicy and not dried out like some places. They have plenty of seating and the lighting was a little too dim. It's in a sporting complex, I don't think an intimate feel meshes well. Anyway the food was ok, I had the chicken Cesar wrap. I felt it was too dry. My wife's turkey burger was one of the best she has had. I did like how I was able to substitute fries with waffle fries. Usually that constitutes an up charge. I had the medium buffalo and Mike's BBQ wings. Food is reasonably priced. The inside of the restaurant is really nice and I loved how it was decorated. The second waitress seemed to have no sense of humor when dealing with a big group. It seems like there is shortage of staff. First off it says call for reservations, when we called they said they do not take reservations. When we showed up there was a line. Not many tables, but the tables were not full. They held out for large parties. This was not so good for us since we were only a party of 3. They went with who checked in first and in front of us was a party of 20, a lot of people came in behind us that were a party of 3 or less and were turned away with a 35-45 minute wait. Then they called a party of 14. We final got seated 35-40 minutes later. We sat for an additional 10 before the waitress come over. She took our drinks and order, we were not offered any bread or chips. We received our drinks I had already drank mine before the food arrived. I was offered a refill after I had finished eating. I ordered the Smoke burger, medium well. It was very good. My wife ordered the soup of the day which was chili and portioned as an appetizer. My daughter ordered Mac and cheese which was actually kraft Mac and cheese. Too expensive, poor service, and definitely not what you expect from a classy hotel and tournament atmosphere. The problem with this place is not enough staff to comfortably serve and maintain. Plenty of empty tables because staffing. read more

My family and I were attending a basketball tournament in the same facility so we stupidly thought it might be a good idea to try this place out. We were seated immediately in the half full restaurant and thought that was a good sign since we had another game in 2 hrs. Waitress took our order immediately and we never saw her again. We gave it a good effort and tried to hold out waiting for our food to arrive, but after an hour and 15 min wait we walked out. I tried to talk to someone on my way out but unfortunately none of the staff could be bothered to provide any type of customer service. I noticed some others had issues with service , but our was friendly and fast .Our group order was 4 entrees in total which ranged from average to good . 2 appetizers were fine as well . Unless you are already on the Spooky Nook for some other reason, it's not a very convenient location. That said, once you've gained access, the decor is trendy/casual with an attempted nod to the restaurant's warehouse name. The food was fine, honestly nothing exciting is even on the menu, just usual hotel bar/pub fare with long descriptions to make things sound more enticing than they really are. I was with a group of 12, and every single one of us felt the same way... "it was okay." Great food, we went at around 5pm on a Saturday and it was almost empty. Yuengling battered cob was the best we've had in the area. Pasta bolognese was good - but not quite as good as Caruso's on Lititz Pike. Service was attentive. Prices were expected if not reasonable ($19-30 for dinners, $11-13 for burgers) for the area and level of restaurant that it is. Burgers included fries, but you can get a small vegetable or salad instead, so nice they allow exchanges - many places don't. PORK OSSO BUCCO was decent, not exceptionally seasoned. Overall great experience, pretty cool to tour North America's largest indoor sports facility next door too. Total lack of attention and focus on guest service. We waited an extended time to get served. Who is completing the schedules? The food was typical "bar" type. The wings were fatty. The burger I ordered was less than stellar as it looked out of place on the large bun. They did not have pickles available. No big deal, but you are selling burgers. I could go on and on....it is disappointing that this place is not operated to the potential. Especially in a growing area. Will not return.....will not recommend. Get your act together!! read more

We've stayed at the Warehouse Hotel 3 weekends over the past 6 months and part of the reason we enjoy it so much is because of the onsite Forklift restaurant. The NY Strip Steak with the Guinness horseradish demi-glaze is superb; and we were surprised the Pasta Bolognese was so good in the otherwise good-Italian-food-desert of northern Lancaster County. Kids' menu also rocks with Buttered Noodles, Mac & Cheese, & Chicken Fingers. Solid beer selection; Troegs & local drafts. Also, the breakfast buffet can't be beat (Sat & Sunday only). Bonus: Sit by the windows to the left and enjoy the world's fattest groundhog lumbering on the hill at sunset, chased by hackling red wing blackbirds. Makes Punxsutawney Phil look like a diminutive chipmunk. (Can't give Forklift a 5th star 'cuz very slow service for our most recent breakfast). read more

We came down to Lancaster from NYC for the weekend and were so lucky to find this place! Really, really good food, good beer, wine, and drink section and fantastic service. We were here during a tournament weekend and never had to wait. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, so we had a chance to sample quite a bit from the menu. Everything we had was delicious. I especially like the salmon with cheddar grits. Heaven! Dessert, my favorite course, was also delicious. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely be returning. read more

OK, here is my review of this place. My wife and I visited this evening. She ordered a wrap which she said was really good. I ordered the black and blue burger. I ordered it medium well. As you can see from the picture it did not come out that way. I complained to the waitress. She told me medium well was that pink. She didnt just say it was pink she insisted it was pink. She made me feel like I was wrong. She offered to take the burger back and put on the grill. I said no. I don't want my burger put back on the grill. It had onions and the blue cheese on it. So I refused and just ate it. I decided to look up on the internet the definition of medium well. It said a little pink. I showed that to her. She made me feel like I was wrong again. She said I offered twice to put back the burger on grill. Never once did she offer to get me a new burger. At this point I was frustrated. So I went to the manager. I explained my story. He said the waitress should have offered a new burger. I said do you want to see it. He said no I believe you. We ended conversation with him asking where I was sitting and he would stop over. The trouble is he never stopped by. We got our check paid the bill and gave the waitress a $3 tip (10%) We will not go back. read more
