    Lobster BLT

Well isn't this place just the cutest. The garden in the front of the restaurant is so pretty. The dining rooms inside are really nice as well. I'd highly recommended The Chanticleer for any meal of the day, in any of their many dining areas. But, if you can snag an outdoor reservation on a nice day, you should do so. They do have some heated outdoor seating areas for cooler days. As far as the food goes, we each had to order the Lobster BLT and we split the Bluefish Pate. My goodness, please order these. They're amazing.

Such delicious food! Prices are a little higher than what I'd like to pay, but that seems standard! Portions were good. I had the lobster pasta, oysters, fries and a martini. All were excellent! Ambiance is so cute! Loved sitting on the patio. Service is attentive.

Make reservations ahead of time. I'm told that it is hard to get into this restaurant. The garden is beautiful when you walk in. You have the option of dining in the garden area. It is a U shape and is undercover. We weren't sure if it would be covered so we chose the formal dining area that over looks the backyard/ garden. We had Paula as our waitress and her assistant Darwin. They both were efficient and nice. Everything was fresh. Everyone liked the most the bluefish pâté with their homemade chips. The tuna tartar was delicious as well. The halibut was great with zucchini. The oysters were good as well. No one was dissatisfied. The wine list is quite pricey. Locals had suggestions for other places to eat because they said it is to expensive. However, really the food is not to expensive. It's the beverages at $19 a glass and the wine that is $200 and up. If you keep that in mind, anyone can go there and enjoy the experience. The table ordered various desatara and those too were delicious. I think next time we will go for lunch and eat in the garden for the experience and beauty. Enjoy! PS. You will need a car or Uber. This is on the coast and not close to the Main Street area of downtown.

Have you ever seen the movie "Somewhere In Time" with Christopher Reeve? It's about time travel in a elegant resort. Even if you don't know the movie you will be transported to another place and time when you dine at The Chanticleer. Elegant gardens, a traditional me me menu welcome you in. Prompt and prompt service. The smoked salmon omelette was very good. My husband said he had never had a burger that was as fresh and hot. I'd recommend lunch so you have plenty of daylight to enjoy the gardens.

Entry way into the restaurant. Outdoor seating in the garden.

Ambiance was amazing. The food was good even though the menu was in comic sans. We shared the oysters, little gem salad and roasted beets amongst the five of us for appetizers. I had the halibut for dinner that was served on a potato purée. This is one of those places for a special night where you can enjoy the upscale ambiance and good food. It's worth it just to see the garden. I was too excited about the garden to get any pictures of the food...sorry.

Beautiful, delicious food. Perfect for a special occasion. Kind and caring staff, and a gorgeous setting. We sat outside and got to admire the flower gardens, but the inside is just as charming.

Catch Of The Day, salmon and virgin mojito

Ordered the Catch of the Day which was salmon and a virgin mojito. The salmon was out of this world in a lemony sauce on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes accompanied by vegetables. Service was quick. The ambiance is beautiful, make sure not to leave without snapping a picture in front of their garden.

My husband and I ate here for lunch on the last day of our honeymoon just over a week ago. It was the first day they were opening for lunch, the start of the season, so there weren't many people there. It was very quiet, which I enjoyed. We were immediately greeted by a hostess with a smile and brought to our table looking out into the garden with the cute horse statue from a merry-go-round. Our waiter was very nice, explaining they were training other waiters as this was their first lunch open. All of our several waiters were nice and attentive! I got the lobster toast, which was very good. I also had a sangria which was certainly on the higher end of $$ for one lunch drink, but it was delicious! We had a very pleasant experience and will be coming back to the Chanticleer on our next trip. The only negative was that it was rather chilly in the room. Since it was raining and chilly outside in general, I hoped it would've been a little warmer inside, but it didn't dampen our experience.

A few years ago, someone offered to buy my parking space for $500. (I declined.) There's often live music. (Check local publications or their website for up-to-date schedules.) There are often a number of food trucks present. On our recent visit, we had oysters from Hang Ten (enormous, meaty and sweet, but shucked with a ton of shell shards); tacos, guac and nachos from Millie's; and pizza from Eat Fire Pizza. And of course we had a number of decent beers on tap from Cisco Brewers. They seem to tend towards lightness, minimal hoppiness: good summer brews for warm weather. It's family friendly -- including canine members. Our pup is a seasoned New Yorker and accustomed to crowds, but even she seemed a little frazzled by the press of people at times.

We got there fairly early but the first band had already started, and the area under the tent was already full. We got some drinks, checked out the space and eventually we were able to snag some chairs under the tent. The outside beer area had alcohol drinks as well. 2 of us had tequila drinks, and 2 tried the beers. We were all really happy with our choices. All of the food there came from food trucks, and there were a lot of random vendors, which made it a fun, unique experience! All of our food and drinks were great. I also bought a few hats- the hat selection was really good from the band and the brewery. They also had a shop along with the other vendors who were set up. We stayed longer than expected- the first band (Grateful Dead cover band) was amazing, so we stayed to check out the second band (who were really good also). We eventually gave up our seats under the tent to some very happy people! We will definitely go back to the Cisco brewery the next time we're in Nantucket- it was a great experience all around! Everyone we encountered- whether they worked there, or weee there for fun were very nice and friendly. There was a dance area in front of the stage and people definitely used it - so there was great people watching in a super fun setting!

In both cases a bit on the chewy side. Fish and chips was not really eaten/enjoyed, and we fed the chicken tenders to two dogs at a neighboring table. Lots of good options on the menu. The Buffalo fried fish app the waitress recommended wasn't my favorite and doesn't seem to be a dish that should be on the menu. It def felt like TGIFridays met Nantucket but not in a good way. Literally a deep fried block of fish smothered in buffalo sauce served on like a whipped blue cheese spread. Honestly, I think it was trying to elevate Buffalo when Buffalo can't be elevated. The fish entree I had was fine. Nothing out of this world. Actually quite unmemorable. Overall, $90 for 2 dishes that were fine, the app being even on a don't order suggestion, is a little jarring. My favorite courses were the caviar and dessert. The white asparagus course was inspired and delicious, though it needed another minute or two to achieve a perfect texture. The sous vide veal breast was a miss. The ratio of meat to fat skewed too heavily toward fat. The diners I observed around me at the bar all left fat on their plates. That said, the sauce and spinach accompaniments were delicious. The bread, optional caviar, and dessert courses were brilliant. The wine pairings fell a bit flat, I thought--they were all good, but none compelled me to ask for more or to see the labels for later purchase. I loved watching the culinary theater from the bar seating. It was a bit more hectic than I recall from my last visit, but it was clear that the staff were working hard and collaborating effectively. A talented local artist's work on the walls here could definitely elevate the ambiance.
