Only stopped in quick to grab a soda. Not really any places in that area of town near the ferry that have drinks and walking around builds up a thirst. Anyway, the 2 clerks I dealt with were friendly and personable. And the service was fast and easy. Its an interesting place, alchohol, sandwiches, and some basic need items. The vegetarian (Tree Hugger) sandwich is amazing albeit expensive at $16.00.. However, I really did not mind given the size and taste. It had glazed balsamic, carrots, cucumbers, and spinach, avocado, just to name a few of the veggies. The multigrain bread was harty and tasty too. It is huge, so I recommend sharing it. There is not any seating in the restaurant/store however, the water along with benches are just a short walk away. Fun vibes at this place, with a nice diverse menu, and a relaxed ambience during my late/end of season visit yesterday. Also had the largest selection of Nantucket Nectars on hand that I have ever seen, haha. My "tree hugger" sandwich checked all the boxes of various veggie selections, plus a hummus base. The BEST on island! AMAZING! I visit Nantucket often, for many years now, no matter where I have tried for a to-go sandwich spot, Fresh is always the best. My favorites are the BLT (add turkey + cheese) and also the Capone. I also love their Greek Quinoa Salad and their Egg Salad Avo Toast. My guests always want to go here when they visit too! They have an awesome selection of cocktails and unique boozy cans which are so perfect for the beach - i have not seen the stuff they carry anywhere else on island! We got sandwiches here during a weekend visit to the island. We called in our order for four sandwiches and they turned it around pretty quickly, which we appreciated. The location in the center of town makes this a convenient lunch to pick up, but it can also mean that it can be pretty busy in there and their space is tight. It's pricey ($52 for four sandwiches), but that is consistent with most shops on the island. We'll come back for sandwiches again in the future, but Fresh isn't at the top of my list of places to eat on Nantucket. read more

My favorite eatery on Nantucket and one of the best sandwich shops EVER. The lobster roll will set you back ~$18 but once a year it's worth it. Service is very friendly but line is usually very long so it can be slow, be prepared for a bit of a (well worth it) wait. The sandwiches are the size of NY Deli sandwiches but better. All the ingredients are super fresh and organic. Also a plus - you can buy wine & beer here. Such good memories having FRESH sandwiches for lunch while boating around the island! I understand it's covid and the ordering process is a little delayed BUT I waited outside the store after ordering in 88 degrees for 18 minutes for only two sandwiches. I was the only person there. They had at least five people working. Even if there were other online orders they were working on, having a customer wait outside in extreme heat for just two simple sandwiches is just plain bad customer service. Love this spot. I have never had an issue with ordering on their website. Of course during a busy summer beach day you need to plan ahead and order way in advance. I ordered online this week and it was ready within 10 minutes of ordering. The sandwiches are great, way more meat than Provisions. Really love the rosemary chicken salad. The bread options are great, but I will say maybe 1/10 times the bread has been a little stale. The salads are also awesome, love the cobb salad. They have good breakfast options too. So, we have stopped in this store many times just to pick up a bottle of wine. The selection is decent and the prices are reasonable. However today we stopped in to get fresh sandwiches which are made to order. I noticed that one of the employees making sandwiches sneezed into his hand and then reached for a bun to make a sandwich. I called this to his attention and he claims he sneezed into his shirt. I would never go back to this place again because of hygiene issues. Luckily there was no line when I arrived. I ordered the Nantucket Babe, which has Honey Glazed Ham, Brie, Granny Smith Apples and Whole Grain Mustard on Honey Wheat. It was a huge sandwich, but the meat was SO salty, and there was way too much spread, so I ended up finishing only half and scraping off some of the sauce. It's pretty expensive for a sandwich ($9), but I guess you are in Nantucket...If I ever make it back there, I will try one of the other take-out places next. Fresh is under new management and the reboot is amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The sandwiches are awesome. I loved the Torpedo sandwich so much I ordered it two days in a row. I didn't feel like the prices were any different compared to other things in Nantucket. In fact, I think their sandwiches are on the lower end price-wise. One of the new owners is a sommelier so we asked him for a white wine recommendation. The one he picked out for us, Le Fief du Briel, was wonderful. Outside of sandwiches and wine, they have grab and go food, beach stuff (umbrellas and frisbees), t-shirts and hats. You can also order through their mobile app in advance so you don't have to worry about finding parking! I will definitely be coming back here on the regular. read more

Just visited Nantucket and found Fresh - the best sandwich ever. I am not normally big on sandwiches (prefer a salad) but the smell coming from inside drove me in!! The BLT (I know a BLT) is the best sandwich I have ever tasted!!! All the names of sandwiches are unique so I cannot remember them but the Chicken Salad is also amazing (with sliced grapes). The have a great selection of beer and wine so it is easy to bring the cooler, grab a bottle or two and a sandwich and hit the beach!! Highly recommend and we will be back! read more

The slowest and worst customer service ever. 45 wait in store after calling in an order 15min prior to that when it's NOT BUSY. One sandwich, nothing crazy.
