As the name implies, this little place is literally located in the cellar, or basement of the Ponte Hotel. The long walk down the staircase adds to the charm and ambience of the place. I got the steak and it was seasoned and grilled to perfection. We went on a Monday and they were having a football special so we got our glasses of wine for $6 each. The wine was top notch. We had our 11 years old daughter with us. It's not super great for kids as many hanging out were a bit tipsy, but one other group had kids as well so it wasn't that big of a deal. read more

We just finished our 3rd stay at Ponte in the last 15 months. Every time we've stayed there we've eaten at the Cellar Lounge and had a wonderful time. I actually love this place. It's located in the cellar (duh!) of the Ponte Inn hotel in wine country. The night I was there they had a small band playing Latin music and it was fun to listen to and watch people dance. The bartender was super nice and recommended a pomegranate margarita which was amazing! They have a full bar including the wines from Ponte Winery. The ambience is nice and cozy, lighting was perfect, good place for a date or even just to hang out with friends for a low key night. Only con is there is no cell phone signal because it's in the cellar, but that's ok, I don't need to be on my phone while out anyhow. :) read more

We arrived here about 5 min before closing on a Friday night after driving in from LA. We hadn't had dinner yet so we were so pleased when they were still willing to put in a takeout order for us. They had been hosting a wedding party and were trying to clean up and close out but were very hospitable and served us drinks as while we waited. I love coming here on Wednesday evening when they have entertainment. It is a cool speakeasy type of feel and the happy hour prices are reasonable. The food is usually good, but not consistent. The staff is okay, however management must train them to control their customers. What I mean is when there are obnoxious guests who are rude, loud and every other word is an "F" bomb, they should be spoken to. Our server last visit apologized for them, but did nothing about it. In other words, she knew it but did nothing. Bad, bad, bad. It pretty much ruined the evening, and we will think twice about going back. read more

I live within 2 miles of the Cellar Lounge Atmosphere is very nice, service is good, food is mostly good to very good During happy hour there live music, which starts at 6 pm, plays much to loud. Happy hour is a time to sit and talk. The decibel level is more like 10-11 pm levels, when all have had allot more to drink You see most of the people trying to talk over the music and that part is not enjoyable. At 6 pm it is not a great experience Went again same as above. Measured the music level at 6:15 at farthest seats from the stage. Came in at 88-105 decibels, so loud people were leaving and or trying the hide from it. You can't talk during the music. Great atmosphere the loud music wrecks the experience. read more

Wow...we came to the Cellar as guests of the hotel to celebrate my best friend's birthday and were so impressed with the Cellar! The service by Tessa was pure luxury and the food was extraordinary. My friend ordered the chicken Marsala and it was the best I have ever tasted! The mushrooms and sauce were perfect. I ordered the hanger steak and it was perfectly cooked and the fries were so delicious! I will be dreaming of those fries all the way home. Thank you for a wonderful evening of live music, exemplary service, and incredible food. We could not have asked for anything more! Dark eccletic taste! The austere ambiance and comfy lounge sofas really set a precedent for somewhere between relax and intellectual conversation. It has access to some of the local wines -which are magnificent for California. However there are some clear logical disclaimers. They do not charge a cork fee. If you bought a bottle at the winery it comes down to being $10 cheaper. The butcher and cheese board is really lacking, with a small mote of cheese and hardly anything else. Not really worth sharing. Otherwise I would return, if not to enjoy their art work. read more

Stopped in to check out the full bar. We made it in time for happy hour (4pm - 7pm) to score reasonably priced flatbread pizzas. We skipped the happy hour drinks and went straight for the signature cocktails. I had the Monte Carlo. Very tasty with an orange slice. Talk about ridiculous prices for a burger and drinks - it was ridiculous. Don't go here unless you want to spend extra money for very little value. Instead go to Old Town Temecula and get great food, drinks and ambiance. read more

The music was ok. The issue was the raw sewage leaking out of one of the urinals in the men's restroom. Told the bartender but it got worse and the smell was nauseating in and near the restroom. No cleanup was done and honestly the place should have closed for health reasons if you're not gonna clean it up. For the 2 hours I was there (about an hour and 55 minutes too long) the sewage just sat on the ground and was nauseating - had to use restrooms elsewhere. Patron health is not a priority here. read more

I adore this place. It is like stepping into a basement club in Manhattan. They have wonderful lounge music, a nice looking staff, they could be a little more friendly, but maybe that's the vibe. We have been here before. While service was slow last time, the food made up for it. This time....let's just say we will not be back. Took at least 30 min each time our drinks were empty. We came here for a cocktail, great happy hour with decent prices! The margerhita pizza was delicious!! So we're the meatball sliders. Very cute atmosphere, dark with music playing. Live music on the weekends. Our bartender, Ryan, was AWESOME!!! He helped us decide what we would like best & was more than accommodating. He made me a lemon drop that was so yummy! Visited the cellar lounge shortly after it had opened on a warm evening in July. Service was slow, looked like the bar staff was still learning their roles, and cohesion as a unit, but I didn't mind waiting in such a swanky atmosphere. Also, I had a bottle of The Angry Wife white for lunch so I was in a much more agreeable mood than usual. Food service was equally slow, not for the lack of effort on the part of the wait staff, they were hustling and buzzing around. The problem as explained to me by my visibly stressed out waitress, was that the new kitchen at the Inn upstairs was not yet operational, so food was being ran out of the main kitchen across the property. Personally, I would not have offered food service in this situation, but California probably has some crazy law that prohibits that. I'll give them three stars for now, but once they iron out the kinks in the service process and have a fully operational facility, I would expect the Cellar Lounge to be another five star experience I've come to rely on from Ponte. read more

We came here about 4 times during our trip. The wines are excellent and the food was good. I tried their bread, cheese, and cured meat plate. It was good along with the wines! My friend had the beef sandwich. She enjoyed it along with her wine. The bartenders were great with their suggestions from drinks to food and other local restaurants too! They also have tvs so we were able to watch some football and on Saturday night they had live music and it was jam packed due to a wedding party. It was a nice time and there is an area to dance up front. The servers are few and far between so service took time. There definitely wasn't enough seating so if you go get there by 8 for the music! It was convenient since it was located at the Ponte Inn (where we are staying). I would definitely come back for another long weekend. read more

This was my second time at The Cellar. First visit was a few months back, the waitress was horrible and rude. Very disappointed with our food as well. We were in town this weekend and decided to give it another shot. Our server Amanda was very nice however she was responsible for 8-10 tables on her own while what looked like her manager just walked around doing nothing to help the poor server out. We waited about 15 min before our server was able to take our drink order. After she took our order it took 35 min before our drinks were brought out to us. The bartender was too busy lolly gagging behind the bar doing who knows what and making calls on the phone instead of making our drinks. We asked to speak to the manager, she never even came over to our table. We were at there for a total of an hour and a half and were only served 1 drink. In the bat business the quicker you get peoples orders out, the more money that means for the business, clearly customer service is not their priority. This is very disappointing because we actually love ponte winery, however we will not be returning to The Cellar. read more
