Wow! I had read the reviews on yelp, but then a coworker heard I was in North Platte. She texted me that I had to go to the Cedar room! I am glad I listened! I came in, took a spot at the bar. I had great service and great conversation with the bartenders and the other patrons. The decor is very stylish with lots of cedar! They had an amazing bourbon selection. It was great to try something rare and expensive! The food was the star of an already great experience! I started with the cowboy caviar. ( country fried steak bites with gravy). They were great. Then I got the ribeye with a side salad. The salad was huge with great toppings. The steak was phenomenal! One of the top 3 ever! Super tender and flavorful. An amazing meal at a great restaurant! Kayla was an excellent waitress who never let us go without a refill and even got us extra ice with our tea after it was melted down. She was attentive during a busy lunch crowd, even after our food arrived. The atmosphere in here was elegant and clean as usual. The ribeye steak sandwich I got is my go-to was massive and cooked exactly how I wanted it. $25 for a steak this day and age is a bargain. The double stack jalapeno burger special stole the show though; with jalapeños, bacon, pepper jam, cream cheese and pepper jack cheese. My dad let me try it and we can both agree it was the best burger we have ever had out at a restaurant. My dad and I are regulars here and it is for a reason! read more

First off, we had an amazing welcome! We didn't have reservations, but we were welcomed in and sat within a minute. Such a beautiful place, inside and out! Very inviting in every sense! We showed up at about 6:20 PM. Ari took great care of us, and when asked her recommendations, she was a spot on! The service was fantastic, the food was cooked perfectly and such a beautiful presentation and service! We will definitely be back! We didn't have dessert, but it looked amazing! We ventured to the Cedar Room on our annual Christmas Trip to North Platte to visit family. The place is very spacious and reminds you of a cabin you would share with family. We started with the Brie and Mushroom Dip and for those who hate mushrooms, you couldn't taste them. Also had a Christmas cocktail called the Winter Wonderland which was so great! The coconut really shows out in this drink. We also shared the shrimp cocktail which was incredible. The sauce wasn't too spicy. For my entree I had the Special Cut Ribeye which was very moist and cooked to my liking. Sweet potato fries were great and I cannot rave enough of the marshmallow fluff dipping sauce it comes with. If you order anything handheld, definitely ask for it! My wife had the chicken fried steak which was MASSIVE and great. Our service was incredible. We had a table of about 9 people and she did an excellent job making sure we were taken care of and our needs were met. We had a family outing and decided on the Cedar Room. I ordered the filet med rare, it can well done. I sent it back to the kitchen after about 20 minutes half hour I was asked if I wanted anything else they couldn't get me the steak. The family was about finished with there meal so I got a salad. I had the DJ Chicken Club. I didn't think much about the fig jam listed on the menu description when I ordered but when I bit into the sandwich I knew it was there. It made the sandwich too sweet. It was almost a dessert sandwich. Also, the bacon on the sandwich needed the fat rendered to a greater extent. Unexpected gem! Stopped here for dinner on our drive from WI to CO. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed. Drinks, food and service were great. Our party of 3 had brussel sprouts and mushrooms to start, ribeyes, green beans, Mac 'n cheese and salad for dinner and ended w/a taste of Shanky's Whip whiskey which is like vanilla crème brûlée in a glass. On our way through NE we Yelped this place to have a nice sit down meal. We called ahead for reservations, the person we spoke to was super friendly and took the time to make accommodations for us, ya see this night was "prom" and they were pretty booked. Anyway the menu I think is arranged for the local crowd, the had various items to suite all tastebuds and pocketbooks. Burgers to nice steaks and Salmon. Nice catch of the day was a sea-bass Barrimundi (spelling?). Apps consisted of calamari some sort of Texas caviar and rocky mountain oysters. I really don't believe it but we tried to Rocky Mountain oysters as a kid I would've never participated in that. And all I can really say is we tried it wasn't horrible but it wasn't bad either and I suspect this experience had nothing to do with how they prepared it just simply my fear as a child eating something like this and my curiosity as an adult. The service was really good and our waitress we knew the night was busy and she did a fantastic job Everybody was buzzing around The food was really good I had chicken with garlic cream sauce in the presentation was was nice it was a lot of food two big size chicken breast restaurant huge portion of mashed potatoes and covered with the garlic cream sauce very tasty. My comment about the food presentation it was a little bit like Emerald Lagasse meets Bubba Thurman from Rockwall Texas so to translate most chefs might charge the same amount and only have one chicken breast and half the mashed potatoes and half the cream sauce and this plate was full. Just a little weird to have a side of glazed carrots served on a plate but they tasted great My wife had salmon although very excellent and prepared very well just a bit overpriced piece of salmon for $30 is a little much. My usual motto would be the last judgment would be the desert and I'm trying to be good plus I was super full but I can tell you my wife says they have an excellent chocolate martini. Absolutely love the building love the build out the Decour this place gets a two thumbs up for locals and anybody traveling through. There are two sides to this restaurant one has a bar and live music and I think you'll be fine to come back sometime and visit these guys again read more

What a great closing to our daily adventure driving Lincoln Highway as we explore a piece of Americana from 1913-present. Our server Sarah was attentive, funny, and professional. The place is simple, warm, and comfortable with good atmosphere. We shared Brussels sprouts, a double decker burger, and a warm Blueberry cobbler with ice cream. The Brussels were cooked to perfection. A bit over marinated yet it was very good. The burger's, bacon, cheese ratio was perfect, able to taste the individual components and burst in the merge of all element. I ordered a Negroni and much to my surprise it was the best Negroni I had in a bar/restaurant, over a one big piece of clear round ice. My companion and I met another couple for dinner. The ambience is a bit chilly, but the restaurant was clean and not terribly loud, which we very much appreciate. The service was excellent, we requested a special cocktail and they made to order. However the bar service was incredibly slow. We ordered 3 drinks and they arrived at the table one at a time. I think the waitress was also the bartender? We ordered the walleye appetizer which was heavily breaded and May as well have been frozen cod. This was my first time visiting North Platte. We were in town on business and wanted to have drinks and a really nice dinner. After much online research at places nearby, our choices looked slim. Luckily, the front desk employee at our hotel suggested The Cedar Room. What a nice surprise! We got here late. Close to 9 p.m. and were happy to find this restaurant is open until 11 p.m. Our host was this adorable, purple-haired woman with great energy and suggestions. We started off with drinks. I can't remember what the first was called but it was a specialty drink and it was fabulous! Fruity, lemony martini. We also shared the Sprouts. For Lincolnites, they taste very similar to the ones at MoMo's but they aren't fire roasted. They were delicious, cooked to perfection (not mushy), and covered in an agrodolce sauce with nuts. I was pleased with the size of the appetizer, perfect for sharing, but I would have preferred less sauce and more of a drizzle. We also both ordered steak. My friend ordered the chef's cut medium well and I ordered the 14 oz. rib eye. We waited a very, very, VERY long time to get our food. The waitress joked about how it was the medium well steak taking all the time but I thought our wait was a little much. However, I won't complain too much because the steaks were perfect. They were so delicious, very lightly seasoned, juicy. Even my friend who doesn't usually order a lot of steak said it was the best one she'd had. Her meal also included mashed potatoes, and I had green beans. She said the potatoes were just ok. I did like the green beans. They were cooked until soft, not rubbery, like traditionally you find at a restaurant. Though I like mine both ways. I also had a cucumber mule and she had wine to end our evening. The decor was also fantastic! Service was great. I highly recommend this restaurant. My only complaint was that none of the staff wore masks and I don't believe it was required of the patrons. We wore ours in to the table. My friend and I are fully vaccinated so we stayed but keep this in mind if you are worried about COVID safety. read more

I can hear two years ago and it was so good I can back a second time that day. That being said the quality of food sucks ass now. My salad had so much sauce and cheese like I was a damn rat. To much sauce wilts lettuce. Alfredo not I would say. A white cream sauce better yet gravy. With highly over cooked noodles that would not even come up on the fork. The chicken in my Alfredo was like some Applebees chicken. Brussels came out of a warmer like how hard is it to cook this fresh. They went from top three to not at all. Idk who was in charge two years ago but they understood food. Find them please. I also paid 142.00 for some trash ass food.so disappointed. Maybe they are busy or short staffed, but a simple hello, we will be right with you would have been nice. All I got was a glare from one of the staff, and uncomfortable looks from the other diners. Worth a stop if you're traveling along I-80 through Nebraska, it's easy to find off the interstate with plenty of parking in a cute area of town (Canteen District). You won't go away hungry as the portions are large. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and my husband had the chef cut steak. I ordered a side of green beans which was large enough for us to share. The steaks were so large that we each had half our portion leftover. Great new spot on the downtown strip of North Platte! Prices were spot on, and food was great! Did I have room for the Salted Carmel dessert? No! Did I order and eat the whole Salted Carmel dessert by myself yes, holy cow it was DELICIOUS! I had the Wilted Salad added Salmon, the salmon was cooked to perfection, the salad was a little sad and soggy. My husband had the special ribeye and said it was 2nd best he's ever had and we have been to almost every steakhouse in Omaha, NE. 4 pages of drinks! Staying in North Platt during our cross country drive and this was my birthday dinner stop! Couldn't have picked a better place! I had the Bison ribeye special which came with fingerling potatoes and jalapeño creamed corn. The ribeye was juicy (for bison) and tender, cooked perfectly medium rare, had an excellent season to it and the creamed corn with jalapeño, cheese and bacon was just heavenly! My daughter got the medallions in a delicious gravy with the loaded mashed potatoes and this dish would have been my choice had that special nit been the choice! We both loved our meals! As it was my birthday we splurged and got additional sides of green beans that were fresh, tasty and plentiful and the small side of onion rings were plenty for 2 and perfect! A wonderful crunch, not too much batter and a great Chipotle dipping sauce on the side. Yum! They ended it with a complementary caramel lava cake (that's what they called it!) and it was absolutely heavenly and a perfect ending to a perfect birthday dinner! What a special evening and hidden gem of a restaurant. Driving cross country with friends from California and stopped in North Platte, where we heard about The Cedar Room. It was their 1 year anniversary and we had to wait well over an hour but it was well worth the wait. First of all... exquisite drinks. The bar tender is a good as any in NYC or SF! Our group had Sazourac, long Island iced tea and amaretto sour. All raved about them! We "accidentally" meet the executive chef and even her husband and found out some background on the place. I immediately changed my order from lobster to rib eye when I heard they owned their own bed. I lived most of my life in Illinois and Kansas so I know good beef and rarely order steak out. Glad I changed the order! The asparagus & carrots were perfectly cooked with slight smoky taste. Amazing! Caesar salad was good but wished it had the anchovies and coddled eggs like Michelin restaurant. However, everything else was similar quality! Two in our group took home desserts that looked very sinful! Haha but never tasted those. The ambience.... part Midwestern and part awesome beauty from the copper ceiling to the massive 15-18' foot rolling glazed lumber doors which we had to ask for a picture in front of. Our waitress, Robin, was professional, efficient, but also had Midwestern wit. We told her our boy of running into the place and she offered to close the doors and take our picture since it was getting close to closing time. Sometimes a traveler comes across a special evening/ event/ people/ meal. This was one covering all four in one night. Oh, forgot to mention.... the price is definitely less than what we were used to. I would love to visit this place again!
