This place is legit! Had the combo of catfish, bang bang shrimp and the étouffée along with rice, hush puppies and garlic bread. It did not disappoint $ read more

This strip center restaurant serves up basic seafood fare that is quite good. It's a very casual atmosphere with a few interior tables for eat in, but most I saw was taking orders to-go. It is counter service, but if you eat in, they will bring your food out to the table. Food came out hot and in about 10 minutes. I had the blackened catfish & fried shrimp combo with hushpuppies and rice. The catfish fillet was on the small side but cooked perfectly. The shrimp was larger than you normally get so it offset the fish a little. The hushpuppies were pretty good too, and the rice was, well, rice. Prices were reasonable and they had a few desert selections I didn't indulge in, but they looked awfully good. If you're in the Campbell & Coit Rd area, give it a try, it's worth the visit and you may find a gem in the rough. read more

I had looked forward to trying The Catch since I read about it. What enormous disappointment. The one hush puppy might have been good if it weren't cold. I am not talking about it not being hot; I was COLD. French fries had the consistency of overcooked noodles. Limp and flavorless. I mean really, every fast food joint can produce decent fries. And then the fish. Very little fish wrapped in lots of breading then fried until it was tough and tasteless The only taste in this meal was SALT. Salt, salt and some more salt. I love fish, but I threw away the printed menu from The Catch read more

Heather , the GM, greeted us & was very helpful with everything. The food was outstanding. Hot & fresh. Tenders were perfectly cooked & seasoned. A light crunch in every bite. The fried were crispy yet light. I ate every last one of them which I rarely do. So glad we stopped in today. My wife had to get a to go box plus she found out they had fried green tomatoes & had to have some. They actually use real utensils even though they give you the standard packed utensils in the to to orders. We came at the perfect time even though there was still walk in traffic. Will definitely be back soon. Maybe with some family in tow. read more

Really enjoyed the food. Ordered catfish/jumbo shrimp combo (2 large fillets and 4 jumbo shrimp with fries and a drink $16.99) and order of fried pickles ($7.99). Everything was well seasoned and tasty. Similar to seafood restaurants back home in Lafayette. A little on the pricey side for a walk up counter but the quality was great. And free frozen hurricane was very tasty. read more

The Catch just opened a month ago. This was my first visit. I have traversed southern Louisiana for more than three decades. I know good Cajun food. THIS is good. Red beans and rice were cooked/seasoned perfectly. Likewise, the shrimp etouffee. Very well done. Interesting the etouffee is offered by the cup and at a very reasonable price. The hush puppies were light and fluffy, the seasoning hitting on the back end of the bite. The gator was lightly breaded and quite tender. I was mostly excited to try the fried green tomatoes. They did not disappoint. My only critique would be I wish they would add a little flour with the cornbread batter. Big juicy slices of green tomatoes. You can order it with a "Cajun cream sauce" - I didn't, but I did get to try the sauce. Nice flavor similar to etouffee, but not. I'm a purist, but you might enjoy it. Last, I ordered beignets. Mixed feelings - the flavor was 95%, but they were a bit dense. I admit to comparing all beignets to Cafe du Monde, YMMV. I'm supes excited to have this so close to home. read more

Pricey, food average. Nice manager. It's gonna be hard because it's in a bad location. Too bad because I like to support local businesses.

This place is close to my house and I wanted to love it, but it fell short. I placed my order online and didn't receive a receipt or confirmation email. The food was decent but didn't wow me. The fried catfish is served on a bed of rice, this caused the fish to be softer than I would've preferred. I would try it again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

The Food and Service are up to par as many other "THE CATCH" establishments. The Ambiance has an open space like feel with a small restroom for male and female, not logically suitable for the space. There are no condiments like other establishments as this one that are on the table ready for the Customer to serve themselves. Overall I give this place a 3 1/2 star but still recommend due to the food. read more

I went here with my mom and sister, though I'm not really a fish guy. Their chicken and waffles was delicious and I will definitely be coming back for it. The staff were kind and quick with their service. Highly recommend! read more

I just popped in for a quick bowl of gumbo to go. I was very pleased with the flavor of the gumbo. It definitely had plenty of shrimp and fish and the broth was delicious. I was disappointed that in my sack was just 3 packs of crackers. I was looking forward to maybe a piece of French bread. The bowl size seemed a little small but I will definitely be back to try the catfish in fried shrimp. They looked really good going out to the tables. Friendly service and place very clean . read more

Amazingly good fish, shrimp and fries. Large, tender and juicy fish filets, and perfectly fried and plump shrimp. Great service to boot! read more

Incredible and consistent Cajun seafood and service and I highly recommend the place.

I will definitely be back The food is so good We had alligator, boudin, fried oysters, green tomatoes & red beans & rice. All that was so good we got gumbo, banana pudding & beignets to take home!! This is my new go to place when I come to the dr! read more

The Catch recently opened around the corner. And we love it. Great service. Great food. Reasonable prices. Can't say enough good about it. The food is good both fried and blackened. The etoufe is as good as some of our favorite spots in the French quarter in NOLA. We are so happy they are in the neighborhood and have been recommending them to everyone. read more

We were looking to eat at another restaurant we thought would be open on New Year's Day. The Catch was open and we gave it a try. The 3 of us had: my husbands, blackened catfish, me, the blackened Shrimp Alfredo, and our son, the catfish nugget and shrimp basket. We all enjoyed ourselves and the great food. This was a happy find and we'll be back! read more

Terrible! Went in for lunch at 12:30, ordered a bowl of shrimp etouffee but was told they only had enough leftover for maybe a cup. Why is anything leftover at 12:30 PM??? Ordered the cup anyway and it was SO salty, I couldn't even eat it. Husband got blackened crawfish which was so over cooked and chewy. Been to other locations of The Catch in other cities and it was great. This location is managed and operated terribly! read more

Amazing food! Got the catfish nuggets with some great sauce and a good price! 10/10 would def get again!

Casual Cajun menu. We had the whitefish sandwich with fries and a catfish basket with red beans and rice and hush puppies. The whitefish was cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crispy. The catfish coating of corn meal was light and flavorful. The red beans and rice had the right consistency and seasoning. The hush puppies were crispy and light. The staff was courteous and the dining area was comfortable. Prices were reasonable. Will return. read more

Great fried seafood baskets. Really nice folks that work there. Clean place. Love getting takeout from here.

CATFISH is AWESOME. Best I've had in 20 years. Seasoned extremely well. Service was excellent as well.

Great catfish good food fast. Some of the best hush puppies I've had. We will go back.

The best shrimp and catfish I've had in a long time, also try the gumbo with rice and beans Excellent!!! A must try if you love good seafood read more

Only had the Gumbo which was delicious but paid more than what I should have for the portion give. I ordered to go so maybe that was the issue?! read more

A horrible experience with The Catch. Ordered to go through door dash. I paid over $60 dollars for a 5 part order not to mention the service fees, to Only received 1 plate. Yes, one. Both parties are at fault, however after calling the restaurant I got "we are busy and only have two people working". I don't care if you are busy, everyone's busy. What I care about is a $100 dollar order was wrong and there was no apology from the manager, no refund initiated, no partial or credit given, no free food thrown in on my order, and worst of all I received my food 2 hours later cold and soggy and not even recooked fresh. Who wants cold seafood!?? No customer service at all! No initiative to make it right! read more

If you're looking to catch a great meal, this is a stop to make! We went on a Sunday evening with our two year old because he requested shrimp. We ordered the shrimp kids meal, the shrimp and boudin ball combo with red beans and rice, and the French Quarter plate. Everything came out hot, crispy, and with generous helpings of shrimp. The place itself was clean and prompt. We beat the dinner rush, but also saw lots of take out orders. We'll be back. read more

I should have taken pictures but it all looked so incredible we just dove right in. This place is a MUST visit. It's so delicious and incredible. We got the fried pickles which were perfectly crisp and yummy. Ranch was fantastic. That's always a critical for me. I got the snow crab (the house mix) and it was mind blowing. Ridiculously delicious juice for that crab. I got medium heat but I definitely could have gone higher. I like a little kick but even for people who aren't big on spicy you would love this sauce on mild. My friend got the fried catfish and she said it was the best she's ever had. The batter was phenomenal and crispy. Absolutely perfect. House fries were a home run. We will definitely be back it was that good. This is an order at the counter kind of place which usually isn't my forte but everything was awesome. Staff was super friendly too and it was a cute little space. Not a ton of seating but the vibe was nice. read more

I would consider myself very picky about cajun food. I work at a beloved cajun restaurant and have enjoyed cajun food all my life. This place not only has amazing food, but the workers were so pleasant. Not sure why it was somewhat empty- with the right marketing this place would be packed every day. prices also aren't too bad- $20 for a pound of snow crab is unbeatable! wanted to post this to show some love for this place and hope that others come try it soon- you won't be sorry! read more

Great place to eat! Good ambiance also. I had the catfish, and fries. And both were very good. I also really enjoyed the hush puppies. I might've taken home some extra ones! If you like seafood, go try The Catch! read more

The quality of food has gone down from when they first opened. I went several times after they opened and I liked it. This time, the shrimp was overcooked enough that it was crispy all the way through. It feels like a fast food restaurant, and the food and service match that feeling. read more

Growing up and always eating Cajun seafood, this place DID NOT disappoint! Expect to wait for your food a tad bit longer than usual but that's okay...the flavors that will be popping in your mouth 100% make up for it! Pretty fair pricing for all the items on here, and if it's your first time here, treat yourself to some beignets. read more

On the way to the new Hawaiian place around the corner and stopped here instead. Glad we did !! Food was great, no grease at all on the fried shrimp, catfish and boudin balls. Plus hush puppies and seasoned fries. I also ordered a coleslaw. I always get one...lol. This was very good. Wife got the fried shrimp and didn't save me any for lunch. She made the all gone club. We will definitely be back! read more

Me and my friends usually come down to the catch when we hang out and it is always a great experience. Also Heather is always very nice to us and she always gives us the student discount and is always looking for someway to help us. If you are a student and ask for the student discount they will gladly give it to you. The catch is always a good experience for everyone and the food and service are always great. read more

Came here for lunch. Got The Catch boil with the full house seasoning. Let me just say that the full house butter is so flavorful and delicious. I could drink it. Seafood was fresh. Great service. Beignets were hot and a great texture. Love this neighborhood spot. read more

Visited this joint 2 times and the line was out the door. 3rd times the charm. Very small crowd but it didn't last long. Started with seafood gumbo. It was good,I ate it all but will choose something else next time. I chose catfish fillet with crawfish tails and okra as my side as my main. I was pleasantly surprised! Finally a fish joint that actually serves a catfish filet that's not a paper thin fried piece of rubbery fried paper! Thick and fresh and cooked to perfection! Crawfish tails were equally as delicious and lightly breaded and cooked perfectly! The home run was the okra! Tasted garden fresh and was cooked as good as can be! No liquor license at this joint but wait,,,, they offered FREE HURRICANES!!! Yes real hurricanes! It's byob and I will next time! There will be a next time! Nothing fancy, limited seating. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food speaks for this joint! Check it out. read more
