It's honestly tough eating out when you're on a restrictive diet. I'm currently doing low to no carb, which basically rules out most menu options and usually leaves you stuck with a sad salad or a couple of sides. Even places you'd expect to be flexible sometimes aren't. I've had restaurants refuse simple swaps like replacing rice or noodles with vegetables, which feels like a miss.
The food court at The Well hasn't been much better. For such a large and modern food hall, the low carb options are surprisingly limited, so I avoided it for a while. After a Sweat and Tonic class, we decided to give it another shot with the newer vendors and ended up finding The Carvery.
It's a pretty unassuming spot that focuses on carved meats with rice or potato-based plates, but the real win is the flexibility. We were able to customize a salad plate, skip the rice entirely, and swap in extra vegetables without any issues.
The food itself was delicious and the portions were very generous. You definitely feel like you're getting your money's worth, especially compared to some of the other options at The Well. Prices are actually reasonable, which is refreshing in that space.
The staff were also super friendly and efficient, which made the whole experience even better.
If you're in a similar situation diet-wise, or just want something satisfying without feeling ripped off, this is a great option. I'll definitely be coming back. read more
