    Espresso Martini
    Tony L.

Forced to call an audible on Thanksgiving dinner and @thecapitalgrille came through in the clutch Porterhouse topped with shrimp in Cajun garlic butter, Australian lobster tails, and an espresso martini to seal the deal. Service was exceptional -- Dedham just became my favorite location within reach of Boston. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the ambiance there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food: 9/10 Drink: 8/10 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Vibe: 7/10[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the better and more reliable chains for a higher end steak. Went for the filet and the composition with the mushrooms, onions, and fig glaze was superb. Service is always spot on and has a nice upscale vibe. Drinks have some intriguing and sophisticated options.

This is not pasta with butter.

I was disappointed in the Capitol Grille at Dedham. The service was extremely poor. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday, a family of four. My young son was very thirsty and it seemed to take over 10 minutes for water to be filled in our glasses when we sat down. The waiter seemed very distracted and not able to keep up. Also, was too quick in passing by our table to ask if we were all set. We ordered calamari for appetizer, and everyone ordered a salad. My son asked for cherry tomatoes cut up instead of greens, they prepared a huge plate for him. My son felt bad for sending away so much in his plate. Guess they don't know kids! The appetizer and salads all came out at once. It seemed very rushed. My daughter's salad did not come out though and we waited about another 5-10 minutes for her to receive her caesar salad. My husband needed to ask the waiter where it was so he would go check. Very strange timing. The kids ordered pasta with butter and my husband and I ordered filet mignons, with mashed and Brussels sprouts. Dinner came quickly and the steaks were good. Though, the kids pasta was not with butter, it was actually with cheese (Mac n cheese). The kids said it was decent so didn't complain but it was the wrong meal. There were no extra plates given to share appetizers, so we needed to ask someone else. Our waiter was whipping around everywhere but never stopped to check on us. Our son needed a spoon for the mashed potatoes and we flagged down another waiter for that as well. There was no servers going around to fill the water glasses. I found this odd. Most high end restaurants have this role to support the tables. The steaks were good, but that's to be expected at Capitol Grille. The brussel sprouts were not pan seared enough. It seemed our waiter could not keep up on drinks, my son was waiting for sprite for a while as well. They did bring out a celebratory dessert cake for my husband and took a family photo. We each also had a dessert. My son did not want anything, but the waiter brought him ice cream. My son felt bad because he didn't want to eat it. I told him he didn't need to eat it. I didn't want him to have bad feelings since he really didn't want anything. My husband took a bite or two of his. The waiter seemed proud of himself that he brought the ice cream over and thought my son tried it. I wanted to say where the F were you for the meal buddy? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance still felt like P.F. Chang's; Red walls, some booths and tables in similar locations in the room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, the steaks were consistent with other Capitol Grilles, but the service was horrible. I am disappointed in this location and will not return. I would rather travel to providence location or go to Flemings. I doubt this restaurant will stay in this location long with sub par service.

We've been to two other CG locations before but this was our first time at Dedham. We were there for restaurant week. We upgraded our entrees just cause. Food was great, steak cooked to perfection. Our server was professional and the hostess was nice. We were seated in a booth seat in a huge dining room. This steakhouse is spacious and lively. I tried their Yuzu cocktail but it was more bourbon tasting than yuzu. But overall it was a good experience.

Went in celebration of our anniversary. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table that was decorated with hearts and a lovely congratulatory card.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter, Tony, I introduced himself and reviewed the Menu and daily specials. He took our drink order I'm a martini drinker and it was perfect. We split a goat cheese and beet salad which was split in the kitchen - delicious. Our meals came out shortly thereafter and my filet was perfectly cooked; my husband had NY sirloin Au Poivre he said was also perfectly cooked. We opted for the au gratin potatoes for the table Our meals came out was topped off by complimentary dessert and flight of champagne in celebration of our anniversary Will consider adding the Capital Grille to our restaurant rotation - the food, the service and the ambiance was outstanding

This past fall, I dropped by this place for a bite. I got the citrus glazed salmon and a side of hash browns. The citrus glazed salmon was cooked medium and came with green beans, onions, and marcona almonds. The salmon was on point. It was good but I would try other dishes next time. The hash browns came with a scoop of sour cream and sprinkled with chives. They were crispy and delicious. For dessert, I got the cheesecake which came with a side of berries. The cheesecake was creamy and not overly sweet.

Great atmosphere all around. It's a pretty large restaurant, so even though we didn't have a reservation, we were luckily able to get seated right away without much of a wait. It was a beautiful day, so we ate out on the patio, which was lovely. The food was phenomenal and came out surprisingly fast! They bring out a phenomenal bread basket to start--the focaccia with olive oil was so delicious I definitely ate way too much of it before our actual meal arrived. For our meal, we had the Truffle Arancini and the Ziti in Pink Sauce, paired with a Shirley Temple and a Classic Hugo Spritz. The portions were large, tasted incredible, and everything was perfect from start to finish. We could not have been more impressed with the service. Our server was amazing and kept checking in on us throughout our visit to make sure we had everything we needed. She even wrote "Have a Great Day!" on our receipt at the end. Superb food, wonderful patio dining, and outstanding staff. If you are ever in the Providence area, definitely check them out--they are quite good. Highly recommend!

Great place if you have group of people, they handle groups well obviously. I would go back, but not because of the food.

"Walk in as strangers, leave as friends."…read more If that's not a saying that makes you want to head there now, then I don't know what is LOL! Obviously, there is more to the new renovated location of La Cantina than this saying but I will say I was pretty impressed when I saw it and knew I had to add it to my review. Let's just say it is pretty accurate. We did leave as friends since we made a few at the bar and then some. Just saying! La Cantina winery in Franklin, MA used to be a small wine bar that offered wine tasting flights and minimal food. BUT, now it is in a stunning new location (not far from their old stomping grounds). Fun Fact: It used to be a Mechanic garage. Well, wait until you see how it has turned from fixing cars to wine making and tasting. YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! Parking is easy with plenty of spots. They have a lot of room at their gorgeous bar, but they also have high tops and tables for families or a large group. And, they host events here too; birthday parties, bridal showers, and anything in between, this place is it. I actually want to hold one of my milestone birthday parties here but well keep the number a secret for now. Service: Alana was our bartender and she was wonderful. Always asking us what we needed and how were doing. You don't get this upscale service any where else. And, when I wanted another sample of something she gave it to me without a fuss. Always with a smile on her face, she was the best. Wine: They have an excellent wine menu to choose from and they offer flights for about $25 pp. Flights are the best way to try multiple wines. I personally loved most of the red wines with Petit Sirah being my favorite. My husband loved their Barbera! I did sample their Sauv Blanc too which was nice but it was too cold to have a full pour. Food: Their menu is great with a ton of options from charcuterie, to tapas and some entrees. I will say some of their items can get expensive but definitely worth it. We started with a few cheeses and prosciutto. Then we ordered one of their popular pizzas called La Cantina. Everything was fresh, made in house with their beautiful pizza oven right smack in the middle of the bar. You have got to see this thing, its huge! Overall: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We had the best time and we can't wait to go back. Franklin is not far from where we live but still a good 30 minute drive and also not far from the Wrentham outlets. We didn't have to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon but I bet Saturdays can get pretty busy. I just loved everything about this wine bar and I know you will too! Cheers~

While I can appreciate the choose your own adventure / tasting concept and benefits of moving at your own pace, wine tasting is something where I'd prefer to have more of a personal touch. The storytelling and personal connection was missing, and made the experience feel a bit hollow. The space was a nice open hang and there's snacks and games, and there is staff there, but the experience made me realize I prefer a guided human tour for some things, wine tasting being one of them. Prices also snuck up on us a bit, it's easy to lose count of how many you've had with the card reader. I was also a bit bummed to find that if you liked a wine you cannot purchase a bottle on site. But I'm glad I tried it and had fun.

Food-wise, none of the dishes we got particularly wowed me (the sauces that came with each dish were better than the actual food) but I'd come back to try other things from the very extensive list. We got: 1. Patatas bravas: The best thing we got, though we should have eaten this when it was still hot and crispy. After sitting out for a while, it became a mushy mess with the sauce. 2. Spiced meatballs: Very small size for the meatball and not much spice (like less than a bite) but the sauce was excellent. 3. Jamon croquettes: Not bad but the filling was pretty gluey in texture. Definitely need to eat with the accompanying sauce. I ended up dunking it in the sauce that came with the meatballs. 4. Grilled peaches: Intrigued by this summer offering but I'd say skip. For $7, we got five very small slices of peach in an indistinguishable, vaguely sugary/burnt sauce. If you have a grill and a peach, you can definitely make a much better version of this for far cheaper. 5. Shrimp in garlic sauce: Fell flat. The shrimp were small and extremely overcooked. The only saving grace of this dish was the scallion/garlic oil that we used to dip the extra bread in. Food came out very fast and our waitress came by often to check on us and see if we needed. Lots of parking options nearby (including free 2-hour options one block over) so if you're debating which location of Barcelona to go to, the parking alone could weigh in favor of this one.

Jadu is a chic wine bar in Jamaica Plain that I had the privelege of checking out for the first time with friends. Located on the busy Centre street, this posh wine bar is something to talk about. Our server Alex gratiously mentioned some of their wine specials. We opted to stick to the menu, which had a lot to choose from. I recommend trying out a few different varietals, your palate will thank you :) I tried their Rose Pet-Nat which was phenomenal and everyone else had something different. Their menu is small, tapas style but yet so delicious and eloquent. We shared their Whipped Feta, Bread & Whipped Butter, Salad and Rice Pudding for dessert. Everything was spectacular! For 4 people we were full, but I could've stayed for more wine. There's never a dull moment when it comes to wine, right! I know that Boston has a ton of wine bars, but Jadu is something special. From the cozy ambiance to their fabulous and fun wine selections, it felt like I was in my own living room. And, maybe that is the vibe that are going for, but nevertheless they are worth a visit.
