Roasted Chicken Breast with risotto (no mushrooms) - first time trying a risotto and it was good. The chicken was so tender and juicy. 3. Filet Mignon* 10 oz - medium , great as well so juicy and tasty 4. Creamed Corn with Bacon - was good as well, didn't come with much bacon as expected but still good. 5. Au Gratin Potatoes - Sooo good, definitely love the creamy and crunch it brings. Drinks ordered 1. Lemon drop - decent, very strong wishes it tasted more like lemon. 2. We had a wonderful dinner at The Capital Grille on Friday, January 23, 2026, celebrating my husband's birthday--and the entire evening was a 10/10 experience. Nick, our server, greeted us warmly. Although we are regulars at this location, this was our first time being served by him, as he joined the team just three months ago. From start to finish, Nick was exceptional: attentive, a great listener, thoughtful with recommendations, and completely on point with the evening's pacing. Truly a standout. We enjoyed: Field Greens Salad with butter leaf lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, and Parmesan vinaigrette Lobster and Crab Cake with lemon basil aioli Tuna Tartare with avocado, mango, and spicy sriracha Chef's suggestion: sliced filet mignon with cipollini onions, wild mushrooms, and fig essence (medium rare) Dry-aged NY/KC strip au poivre with Courvoisier cream, 14 oz (medium rare) 10 oz filet with corn, asparagus, and mac & cheese (sadly forgotten in photos!) Every dish was outstanding, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. We've long been loyal patrons of the Boston and Chestnut Hill locations--and have also visited Providence, NYC, and Phoenix--so it's especially nice to have a Dedham location that delivers the same exceptional food, service, and ambiance even closer to home. Valet parking begins at 5pm, and the valet team was working tirelessly despite the frigid cold, which did not go unnoticed. As we departed, we had the pleasure of meeting the general manager at the front door and shared how much we enjoyed the entire experience. My significant other and I decided to stop here after a morning visiting the museum of art in Boston. We arrived around 3:30. The restaurant was fairly empty. The wait stuff was excellent with their attendance to refill out drinks as well as to offer menu recommendations. This restaurant was potentially the most expensive restaurant I have ever eaten at, even if our order was considered sparse. The food was tasty whoever my filet mignon was a bit tough due to the connective tissue in the meat. I was a bit surprised by that as usually filet is a very tender cut. The restaurant was clean and spacious with quiet music playing in the background. All in all a good experience. I was disappointed in the Capitol Grille at Dedham. The service was extremely poor. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday, a family of four. My young son was very thirsty and it seemed to take over 10 minutes for water to be filled in our glasses when we sat down. The waiter seemed very distracted and not able to keep up. Also, was too quick in passing by our table to ask if we were all set. We ordered calamari for appetizer, and everyone ordered a salad. My son asked for cherry tomatoes cut up instead of greens, they prepared a huge plate for him. My son felt bad for sending away so much in his plate. Guess they don't know kids! The appetizer and salads all came out at once. It seemed very rushed. My daughter's salad did not come out though and we waited about another 5-10 minutes for her to receive her caesar salad. My husband needed to ask the waiter where it was so he would go check. Very strange timing. The kids ordered pasta with butter and my husband and I ordered filet mignons, with mashed and Brussels sprouts. Dinner came quickly and the steaks were good. Though, the kids pasta was not with butter, it was actually with cheese (Mac n cheese). The kids said it was decent so didn't complain but it was the wrong meal. There were no extra plates given to share appetizers, so we needed to ask someone else. Our waiter was whipping around everywhere but never stopped to check on us. Our son needed a spoon for the mashed potatoes and we flagged down another waiter for that as well. There was no servers going around to fill the water glasses. I found this odd. Most high end restaurants have this role to support the tables. The steaks were good, but that's to be expected at Capitol Grille. The brussel sprouts were not pan seared enough. It seemed our waiter could not keep up on drinks, my son was waiting for sprite for a while as well. They did bring out a celebratory dessert cake for my husband and took a family photo. We each also had a dessert. My son did not want anything, but the waiter brought him ice cream. My son felt bad because he didn't want to eat it. I told him he didn't need to eat it. I didn't want him to have bad feelings since he really didn't want anything. My husband took a bite or two of his. The waiter seemed proud of himself that he brought the ice cream over and thought my son tried it. I wanted to say where the F were you for the meal buddy? The ambiance still felt like P.F. Chang's; Red walls, some booths and tables in similar locations in the room. Overall, the steaks were consistent with other Capitol Grilles, but the service was horrible. I am disappointed in this location and will not return. I would rather travel to providence location or go to Flemings. I doubt this restaurant will stay in this location long with sub par service. read more

Last week, Tom and I came here for a late lunch. We had a marvelous time and a spectacular meal. Our server was the delightful, friendly and very efficient Courtney. Big shout out to her! There were several other tables occupied when we arrived so it was pleasantly busy but not overly so. Just busy enough to feel like there was a nice vibe going on versus feeling like the place was dead. We started by splitting a Caesar salad which as all good restaurants should do (but don't always) came split for us on individual plates. We opted for the anchovies and were happy to see they used the white less salty anchovies. Delicious salad. We were also served a bread basket with several varieties of bread which I didn't try. Tom did though and found the bread fresh and tasty. I did take a taste of the incredibly luscious butter served with the bread. There is just nothing like really good butter to go with really good bread. For my main dish I had the 8 ounce filet mignon done medium. Tom had the 10 ounce filet mignon done medium rare. He had truffle-parmesan fries to go with it. I had the soy glazed Brussels sprouts. I cannot begin to describe just how luscious, juicy and tender our filets were. They were cooked perfectly for each of us and we almost did not need knives to cut them. Tom loved his fries but once he tasted my delectable Brussels sprouts he wished he had ordered those. We were too full for dessert plus I'm staying away from carbs and sugar for awhile. We had waters to drink but the Capital Grille is known for it's quite encyclopedic wine list and excellent cocktails. The meal, the service, the ambiance were all top notch. Went in celebration of our anniversary. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table that was decorated with hearts and a lovely congratulatory card. Our waiter, Tony, I introduced himself and reviewed the Menu and daily specials. He took our drink order I'm a martini drinker and it was perfect. We split a goat cheese and beet salad which was split in the kitchen - delicious. Our meals came out shortly thereafter and my filet was perfectly cooked; my husband had NY sirloin Au Poivre he said was also perfectly cooked. We've been to two other CG locations before but this was our first time at Dedham. We were there for restaurant week. We upgraded our entrees just cause. Food was great, steak cooked to perfection. Our server was professional and the hostess was nice. We were seated in a booth seat in a huge dining room. This steakhouse is spacious and lively. Everything about the Cap in Dedham is exceptional, but I would be remiss if I didn't call out the service from our waiter - Pia. You expect good service at the Cap but Pia stands out from the crowd. She was polite and extremely attentive to our needs without going over the top. Funny, solicitous, extremely considerate of my partner, who has severe celiac disease. Very patient. And proficient in picking out our drinks and wine. The food - amazing. We went directly to dinner, no apps, where my au poivre steak, and her Filet were cooked to perfection. We ordered 2 sides: Sam's mashed and perfectly grilled asparagus. Awesome. This was our early New Year's Eve dinner - perfect in every way. Cannot rate them higher, with Ben at the highest. This past fall, I dropped by this place for a bite. I got the citrus glazed salmon and a side of hash browns. The citrus glazed salmon was cooked medium and came with green beans, onions, and marcona almonds. The salmon was on point. It was good but I would try other dishes next time. The hash browns came with a scoop of sour cream and sprinkled with chives. They were crispy and delicious. For dessert, I got the cheesecake which came with a side of berries. This place NEVER disappoints! One of the BEST upscale chains out there and I don't say that lightly as I'm usually not a fan of chain restaurants. I was treated to a birthday dinner here by my in-laws... We started with the bread basket which had a great variety of different kinds of bread. We also had shrimp cocktail, oysters and steak tartare. Shrimp & oysters were fresh & delicious. Steak tartare was just ok; it was served with a diced up hard boiled egg, which I found to be odd as the egg is normally raw in this dish, however I did appreciate the capers. For my entree, I ordered the sliced filet mignon (medium rare) which came with onions & mushrooms. It was cooked PERFECTLY. It was juicy, tender and flavorful. Since it was my birthday, I got a "special dessert" which was made up of a few different things and even had candles. They also gave me a birthday card and put confetti on the table. I could cry thinking about how terrible tonight was. Made a reservation with a note that it was my mother's birthday. Our food took over an hour for just three of us. We watched people around us get their food and finish it. One steak came out very rare. Sent it back and got it packaged to go. Even out apps were slow. One salad and one soup. Mind you, they knew they screwed up and comped our meals and yes we still tipped on the whole bill because that's just who we are being in this industry. But when you go to a nice steakhouse and you're paying 70+ for an entree, you expect everything to be at LEAST above average. I wish this happened on a more casual visit and didn't ruin a special night. We've been here many times and have never experienced anything like this. The servers know their wine and pairings and have great mixed cocktails. The ambiance and decor is lovely, but I still feel comfortable in casual attire. It is expensive.....but everything seems to be in Boston. Great place for a date or to treat yourself. If you want a perfectly done steak this is the place. First time at this location I have dined at scores of Capital Grilles. To start they have complimentary valet parking a nice feature on this rainy night. The service was friendly and efficient. Ehren was our server. Very professional and knowledgable. Ambiance is classic Capital Grille. Our reservation was timely honored and we were seated promptly at a round table at the back of the restaurant which worked as we had our infant grandson with us. We were here celebrating our son in laws birthday. We started with a round of cocktails mine was a vesper, prepared precisely as ordered. Food was fabulous. Of course we all got steaks of some sort. I started with the crabmeat cocktail and my 10oz filet was perfect. Sides were Brussels sprouts and potatoes. We also got a bottle of Hess cab. We got desserts. Mine was fresh berries which were remarkably fresh and sweet. Finished with coffees and a couple of after dinner drinks. Total ~$700 with tip. I am here right now. Beautiful inside, nice bar. Parking was easy (no valet open yet) so I parked right out front. Staff were dressed well and polite and it's nice that the food prices reflect Dedham and not Boston. With that said, the patrons at the bar also reflect Dedham. Onion soup is fantastic, see photo. Brand new Capital Grille that just opened up about 6 weeks ago. It was very exciting to see such a phenomenal steak restaurant make its debut in Dedham but is it all cracked up to be? Well I I will say they are quite busy and they offer Valet too which is pretty impressive, but our experience could've been better. You definitely get a snobbish vibe here at least that's what we felt when we walked in. After waiting for a few bars seats to open up service was quite slow to begin and then they did not get our appetizers correct. They also never told us personally about their "specials." We over heard one bartender Kristina tell another guest about them. But, food was quite superb and wine list was also quite good too, but you'll definitely pay a pretty penny for sure.
