This place is a must try! I was by myself on a business trip and was greeted by a friendly hostess who asked if I would like a table or to dine at the bar. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bar tender and her husband who own and run the place. Super friendly folks with a great attitude. I asked for recommendations on what to try since it was my 1st time visiting and the fonky nonky potatoes were so good. Such an incredible collaboration of flavors. You can't go wrong with it. And the sweet tea was fresh and perfect! I had the crawfish étouffée which was really good and the portion was huge. I'm looking forward to those leftovers this evening. After I asked for the check the co-owner/bartender sent me with a small portion of their famous pork ribs which she said I had to try so I will be having that with the étouffée for dinner. Such a great atmosphere with great owners and friendly waitstaff. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally especially the pork rinds and rice which really speaks to the way the owners run their establishment and want to sow back into the community. Me and my girlfriend went here on a date night and were extremely disappointed. Our alcoholic drinks tasted like gasoline, they were so strong. The beignet sticks were dripping in oil. My burger was dripping in oil, It made my burger buns super soggy. She got the chicken sausage gumbo and It was super bland and a small portions. Overall an expensive and dissatisfying experience. My husband and I went to Cajun table tonight for supper and it wasn't our waitresses fault. It was the kitchens fault very unsatisfied guests my husband and I. His food was fine. Mine on the other hand was a sloppy mess. STRIKE ONE: He wanted a purple haze they didn't have any. STRIKE TWO: We ordered the nachos and it took forever to come to us. STRIKE THREE: My food was sloppy. STRIKE FOUR: We wanted to order the beignet sticks and Dominique said the kitchen was closing. While their were guests still there if you still have guests at your restaurant the kitchen should not be closing. We are never ever ever going back to this restaurant fed up with that place. The food was okay. I was expecting "real" Cajun flavor, not "tourist attraction" Cajun flavor. I was also expecting fresh shrimp, or at least shrimp that was properly frozen so that it wouldn't have a nasty aftertaste. I won't be going back. The Cajun Table: I pulled up to this gem, located in a strip mall, after finding it on Yelp. The signage is so bad, I'm sure people have left before finding it, thinking it didn't exist. My guest and I were greeted by......uuuuuh, what's her face.... Chantelle. (No offense, it's an inside joke people and we're practically Friends now..... she's great). No really, I couldn't remember her name to save my life. It was a rainy day, but her charm and Cajun hospitality, made us feel right at home. For starters, she recommended the Craw-fish Nachos...and she hit that one out the park. The Nachos were warm and flaky, with just a soft crunch; but in a non traditional way if you are used to Mexican Nachos. The Chips were nearly smothered in a warm cheese sauce that was heavenly, all topped with the most perfectly fried Craw-fish. Talk about comfort food...OMG. I'm a Certified Foodie, but I really over did it by ordering the Fried Seafood Platter. It came with fried Fish, Shrimp,Craw-fish and fries. To be honest, I really only sampled a few pieces of each and it was all good. What Chantelle failed to mention is that this place is a good value and they give you a nice sized portion of food. I'll be having the left overs tomorrow. The service was great and we were given insight on local traditions and events like King Cake and the local Mardi Gras. I hear that the food is amazing, however we never got to try it. Went in on a Thursday night during crawfish season with the understanding that it would be packed. We stood awkwardly in between tables of people eating for about 30 minutes while waiting for a table. Then, we were seated (fairly in plain view) and then forgotten about. After about 30 minutes without even a drink order taken we asked the server/hostess and she said that she didn't know who our server was to "hang on". Well we hung on for another 45 minutes of no drinks and no food before giving up and getting fast food on the drive home. Fantastic, authentic cajun cuisine. The service was poor but the food (and price) were worth the wait. We went during lunch and was served chocolate cake as part of the dessert.The BEST cake I have eaten in a very long time. Food was great we are from el paso texas and here on business. We had the sliders meat pie and the shrimp wrap. The owner and I believe his wife were very cool nice people and helpful in the deciding of what to try. But I don't think this guy could mess anything up. I went on good Friday good crowd for lunch this place has never let me down on there food but the young man whom is a waiter has a very smart mouth I ordered the catfish I ask if I could have half fries and half onion rings as I did not want a salad he said no problem so the food comes out there is only onion rings so I asked where were the fries oh he says they did not fix them I said well you said no problem. So where are the fries he said I am aware you did not get them so turned around and left the table still talking. I choose not to say anything more to him from that point on he was very short on answers and very much being a smart mouth we did leave him a tip and I will come back to eat there again. But if he is there we will leave and go elsewhere to eat. So i will not down grade food is awesome but his attitude has no stars along with his customer service skills which are none. I have never had anything i didn't like! First time we ever tried the food was at the Plate Lunch Festival(where they won 1st). Since then we probably eat here 3-4 times a month. The plate lunches are always delicious and can very easily feed 2 people. The crawfish are my jam! They also have these amazing cajun sliders my husband cant get enough of. Great Cajun food!! Wanted a relaxed Cajun style restaurant near our hotel. Found just what we wanted at The Cajun Table. A basket of homemade pork skins-crunchy fresh and seasoned just right were placed on the table instead of tortilla chips or bread. We ordered the fried catfish and shrimp. Great choice! Catfish was moist with flavorful crust. Side salads nice with variety of crisp lettuces. Friendly helpful staff rounded out our most enjoyable meal. read more
