Baby hotdog
Trisha S.

If you imagine a hotdog, typically a good size for an adult. So, I ordered a hotdog and got a child size hotdog. Definitely not what I expected and definitely not worth it. The price $4.55 plus tax. I could have just bought bread and hotdog and make my own and still pay less and have extra. The food is usually good here and I order frequently but this was disappointing.

I came here 4 times when in town for a conference, as this way super conveniently located to the conference center (Menino). It's open 7am-10pm daily, is always seemingly busy but always very efficient and fast to deliver orders, and has a huge amount of comfortable seating. First visit: I tried the vegan breakfast burrito ($12), a nicely designed burrito with tofu, potato, spinach, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese, and mushrooms, served with salsa on the side. Very solid burrito. The Spanish burrito I tried another day--which came with vegan meatballs of some sort--was even better. Second visit: I got an açai bowl ($9 for the small size; $12 for regular), and added vegan protein powder ($2) blended in. It came with açai blended with almond milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Real good and plentiful even for the small size. Third visit: just ordered a bagel with vegan cream cheese that had tomato in it, and added some spinach on top ($5.50 total). Very generous spinach portion (for $0.50!), well-toasted bagel, and an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Very tasty. Moreover, each time I visited, I ordered a double espresso ($3.50), which was excellent. Proper espresso, deep body, strong, served with sparkling water and a piece of dark chocolate.

Food was great. I had the Mac n cheese. Wife had breakfast and other couple had a wrap and fruit…read moresomething. Everyone was happy with food and the portion size. My only complain was ordering from kiosk. Ambiance is modern and café feel.

We arrived just as the restaurant was opening and were surprised to see how busy it already was at 7:00 a.m.! The café had a charming, distinctly French atmosphere, reminiscent of cafés we've visited in France, right down to hearing patrons chatting in French. It certainly added to the ambiance! Since we arrived early, we were seated immediately at a cute window table, perfect for watching the city come to life. Over the next few days, we walked past several times and noticed people lining up for tables, so we were especially glad we had beaten the crowds. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was attentive and efficient, bringing water promptly, taking our order quickly, and delivering our food in what felt like no time at all. We ordered lattes, French toast, and a Croque Madame. The French toast came topped with fresh blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and banana slices. While it was a satisfying breakfast, the dish itself was fairly ordinary. I would have preferred brioche-style French toast for a richer texture, and the maple syrup was already poured over the top. Having it served on the side would have been a nice touch, allowing guests to control the amount. I also wasn't entirely sure the syrup was pure maple syrup. The Croque Madame was enjoyable as well, though neither dish was particularly memorable. Overall, Café Bonjour is a great spot for its convenient location, charming French café atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. While the food was good enough for breakfast, it wasn't necessarily the highlight of our visit. I would come back again to try their pastries, or crêpes. I'd recommend arriving early to avoid the lines and enjoy a relaxed start to your day exploring Boston!

A lovely patio. Food was delicious. It is counter service but they were all very friendly. So much variety to choose from. It was hard to select what we wanted to eat. I love the decor. A true homage to the hit TV show friends, you'll walk in and feel like you already know your way around. And you'll even find Central Perk sweaters for sale and a wide television behind playing episodes of Friends! There are seating options both outside and inside, but I didn't have trouble finding a place to sit & camp for about half an hour. Service was chill. You can tell they're used to customers being in awe of the aesthetic. I'm sure they're all used to being busy. One thing I appreciated is that no matter how busy the counter was, there was always someone around cleaning tables expeditiously for new visitors. I ordered their seasonal red sangria, but they have plenty of other options [(red/white) sangria, food, beer, and of course coffee].

So when my 3-day school holiday break came around, I made it a point for my daughter and me to finally check it out! Plus she's a bookworm. We got lucky right from the start! My kid managed to snag a parking spot right on Charles St, just a block away. Listen- this was a victory in itself because parking in Boston is a muvvafuckinng nightmare. Beacon H. is everything I thought a charming neighborhood bookstore would be. It's cozy, quaint and has so much pizzazz. The space is narrow, rooms are little and even the staircase is narrow. Doesn't matter- it just adds to its old-fashioned charm. They also have a café that I really wanted us to try, but there was a wait, so we decided to stick to books this time. Depending on the weeknd, you might have to stand in line outside- line moves quick. This is the kind of bookstore I'd love to stay in for hours especially on a rainy day because it has this warm, inviting feel. The book selection isn't huge, but what they do have is well-put together with a little bit of everything: fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, etc. If you're looking for an entire collection by a particular author, you probably won't find it here. Like take John Grisham- one of my faves- you're going to find his latest but not his entire collection. I guess that's part of the charm. Lemme mention the service which was excellent and welcoming. Bookmark checked off my list!
