Recently, last week I called them & they were fast with arriving. A lady driver couldn't carry my rollator bc she explained that her legs were very bad, she only sat in her drivers seat! As a customer, I had to carry my own medical rollator, into back trunk of her van. Bad service that I never heard of, so I didn't give tip! Why have a driver who cannot assist a handicap-customer? Kwon Yong was very unprofessional and he swears. Kwon wanted to drop me off farther than I requested and collected more money than I believe should've been charged. This is why I choose Uber. You do not have a rude driver like this one I experienced today. He said a lot of F words and but he speaks Korean! So not complete English. Awful experience. We are in Honolulu with my elderly mom who has dementia and mobility issues. I booked this taxi service online(and followed it up with a phone call to ensure I entered everything correctly). I put a note in comments making driver aware that I needed extra time due to my mom's needs. My pick up time was 4:45pm. The driver called me at 4:43pm and I was unable to answer as I was assisting my mom. I saw them drive through the circle drive at our hotel and tried to flag them down. They purposefully ignored me. I called them at 4:45pm precisely to see why they have not stopped. They responded that I did not answer their call at 4:43pm. I explained I was assisting my mom and that I called right back. They said "I have another trip now. Sorry.". We had to then call an Uber and we were late for our reservation. I could understand their actions had we not been at the front of the ilikai waiting for them. It's actually the last time I will reserve a taxi anywhere. Uber/lyft are reliable and dependable and make a better effort to accommodate their patrons. read more

Super rude driver! I used uber to return to the airport. I got into Oahu and called the cab company to let them know I arrived. I got lost and was looking for the pickup location. I went to the taxi pick up and they told me there was a "cab" pick up further down. During that time the driver calls me and says "I'm here, waiting! Cancel?!" I told him "no don't cancel I'm coming. I was right around the corner and got in. Anthony (driver) proceeded to grumble about the other people waiting for their pickup and that he was losing money waiting for me. He then told me about other pickups where they went to get coffee or grabbed food. I told him "I wasn't grabbing food or coffee, I was looking for the pickup." He proceeded to be rude and I just stopped talking to him. He also started to grumble about the drivers around him. I would never recommend this cab company again! Even though I did not have to pay for the fair to my destination and back to the airport, I decided to have a more pleasant ride using an uber driver. read more

TheCab has got to be THE WORST cab service in Hawaii, if not the world. Drivers barely speak English and don't know where they're going even after giving them directions! My first experience with TheCab was terrifying; the Korean driver barely spoke English, ran red lights, cut off other cars in traffic, and I thought we'd surely get in an accident. I tried taking TheCab three more times and the experience was just as bad, albeit with different drivers who speak poor English and drive like they're in a demolition derby. Cab driver in cab number 474 ran through a stop without stopping making a right turn crossing a crosswalk to get to the far left lane to make another turn. This took place at Kaheka and Rycroff. We pulled up along side him at the next light to let him know that he didn't stop and could have hit us or a pedestrian (has there been one entering or in the cross walk). He was rude and disrespectful. Absolutely no regard for the safety of anyone else on the road! Glad he didn't have any passengers in his cab. Reported him to the cab company, the woman who took the call said she could only report it to the supervisor as she believed their customer service line to be closed for the day. TheCab drivers are horrible. I can't even count the number of times I had horrible experiences with this company. Why do I keep coming back? Because someone gave me a stupid "Cab Bux" card. Its basically like TheCab gift card. You can put money on it and even reload it. I just can't stand rude drivers. I don't know if TheCab treats their workers badly to make the drivers treat customers badly. But honestly I am just sick of it. I am posting this as a public service to those who chose to us The Cab and am going by what my Aunty informed me of from her experience on August 6, 2018. The other day, my elderly Aunty & Uncle used their service for a one way 7.6 mile ride to their doctor and got charged $36. Furious and aware that the driver had overcharged them (because they have taken the cab before with the same route), my Aunty placed the $36 cash- 1 $20 bill, 1 $10 bill, 1 $5 bill and 1 $1 bill on his seat and he stated that he did not receive the $20 bill and had them pay an additional $20 on top of their already overcharged fee and making them late for their appointment. My Aunty & Uncle have used The Cab before for this route and stated that it is usually is in the $22 range. I did call & inform customer service of this as I felt that the cab driver was taking advantage of my loved ones. The customer service department did look into the situation and returned calls, etc; however they stood behind their driver. I get it- it's a matter of he said, she said, especially with the missing money situation. But I got to stand behind my Aunty, da kine that will cook you oxtail soup when sick, make you the prettiest haku lei for any occasion, and always goes to Ward on Sundays... So then I ask the customer service rep about the fee of $36 for 7.6 miles. He said that that is the going rate for 7.6 miles- $36 according to the website they used. So in short, if you have money to throw around for 7.6 mile car ride with the possibly of the driver stating "he did not receive all his money" and demand more money on top of the overcharged price, go for it and use The Cab- a whooping $56 total for my Aunt & Uncle. read more

I do not use this company since I use lyft. But, My Mom has to use it when she has doctor appointments, and I can't drive her. Today, the call center hung up on her twice because they couldn't understand where she was - Ala Moana Center at Genki's. They can't Google that and figure out the location and address? My Mom can't, because she's elderly. It's better for her to use landmarks. Granted, she could have, and maybe should have given a physical address. But, they didn't have to hang up on her. Cab that picked us up was not air conditioned (it was a very warm night), a mess on the inside, i.e., cabbie's 'stuff' all over the front seat, and what was most peculiar was the cab driver himself. A little too weird. He had a black & white picture of the beautiful Princess Kaiulani on his dashboard. Oddly enough he spoke of her as if he recently had a conversation with her AND knew her father personally who disapproved of them dating. What! Hmmmm. Then he started talking some really strange, off the wall stuff like cutting off people's fingers and pouring shoyu on them(?!!?) AND he laughed at his own joke with this creepy, maniac, insane laugh! Yikes. Couldn't wait to get out of the car! I don't take taxis often so when I do, I really notice their service. The other nite, my husband and I decided to take a taxi to the airport...so I called The Cab to find out what's the best way to insure a taxi when you need it...they told me to just call 5-10 minute before you need it.....so we did...they say they'd dispatch The Cab and it would be by to pick us up...well, we waited and we waited and we waited. After about 10 minutes, we called them back only to be told that The Cab was on it's way and we needed to another 5-10 minutes....now we are gonna be late in getting to the airport...so I jumped on the phone and called Charley's....they said they'd be by in 5 minutes. Candy called me right back and said she was on her way...sure enough, Candy came by and wisked us off to the airport! Nice big minivan...very pleasant, polite and professional.... Guess this is a review of both the Cab and Charley's....and Charley's wins!!! When you need a cab, call Charley's....were they better because it was a woman taxi driver??!!?? Terrible and unreliable!!!!! Called The Cab @ 422-2222 for 5 of my friends to return to Waikiki last night at 9:30 pm. The dispatcher was nice to say to send a van right away. 15 minutes later, no cab came. I called again. He said she will send another cab. We then waited, waited and waited for 30 minutes. I called many times while we waited but shockingly no one answered the phone. My friends got upset and they just walked back to Waikiki. The cab! Don't let "TheCab" or "The Cab" fool you... same company. They have a driver (#200, lic#RSZ968) that is a menace to our neighborhood. He parks waiting for a job, and just throws rubbish out of his window. Or he Parks right under the stop sign making it difficult for the kids to cross the street on the crosswalk. His front tires are literally on the crosswalk. I approached him a few times but he just turns away and ignores me. I called the main office and they just apologize and take my number down, but nothing gets done, and it continues. I called for a cab I was on the second floor of H going down the escalator and asked if I could order a cab and she said in a very rude way "we don't pick up on the second floor, call us back when your downstairs, and click." First time I've used The Cab, and I probably won't again. First, the dispatcher kept talking over me instead of listening to where I was. Then the driver called me and said he was at the gate but couldn't see me. Then HE talked over me while I tried to explain. Turns out where I was has a "back gate" where fares "usually wait". But if the dispatcher had just listened, he would have gotten to me easily. Then, when we were finally in the car, he didn't recognize the street name so I told him a major cross street. He then proceeded to argue with me for five minutes that it is a left-turn off Nimitz Highway (it's a right). Even when I said I have lived there for a year and a half, and I think I know the way home, he kept right on arguing. Until eventually he realized he was wrong and NOW he knew where we were going. The ride itself was pleasant, but the cab smelled of stale cigarette smoke - despite the large NO SMOKING signs on the doors. We made good time and the price was reasonable. That is the only reason I'm even able to give 2 stars. read more

Dispatcher was very nice. Taxi was early for a 6:00 am pick up to the airport. Placed bags in the taxi, drove carefully and made it to the airport on time. Off loaded the bags and said mahalo for the tip. No complaints here. Wish other taxi services on Oahu were as good. read more

For interisland trips, I usually rent a car, but as today was just a day trip, I decided to try a rideshare company (Lyft). BIG mistake. Both rideshare drivers were no shows so I had get cabs from and back to the airport. I hailed the first cab (Honolulu Taxi) at the airport, but as I was unable to reach that same company again (their answering machine said no one was available to take my call!), I decided to try TheCab for my ride back to the airport. The dispatcher was friendly, the cab arrived very quickly, and the fare was less than the fare quoted by Lyft or charged by the Honolulu Taxi. I will stick with TheCab for any future day trips! read more

I called The Cab because I unknowingly had appendicitis and had to get to the hospital. When we arrived, I gave him my card for payment (Card payments are accepted and advertised in the cab, but drivers don't like them because they take time to process and may charge a finance fee), but he kept asking me for cash even though I didn't have any. We were literally sitting in front of the ER while I was bearing over in pain and this driver could give a f*ck. I used the cab on a couple other occasions where they would complain about card payment or were flat out rude. Please use uber and lyft. I'm a regular user of Lyft and Uber but decided to try and use The Cab. Our driver was an older Indian man who's car seemed to operate just as old as him. Apparently his AC was not working because he left the windows down the whole way to our destination. His car was also very dirty! I will never use The Cab again! read more

Special shout out to Kevin in Cab 330 for being rude the entire time. When he called me I asked if he was in the tan van, he rudely said "is there any other cab here!?" Yes. There were two there already and another dozen on the way as my company has just concluded an event. I wanted to be sure I got into the correct one. Then at the end of my ride I needed a paper from him so my company could process the reimbursement for him. He refused to give it to me and accused me of not caring if he gets paid or not. First of all, yes I do care? I care about service workers a great deal. I am one and have been my entire life. Secondly, if you end up not getting paid because you wouldn't give me the paperwork my company needs to process the reimbursements it's not my fault anymore. I tried to make sure everything was in order and you shot me down. I wanted to make sure you got paid for this service and you just a jerk to me about it. This is the second horrible experience I've had with this company and only the second time I've used them. That's 100% negative. And I'm not a huge complainer. I'm the type of person who, if my order is wrong at a restaurant, will eat it anyway and tip 20%. But I've had it with this company. They are disorganized and rude. How hard would have been to just say "yes I'm in the tan van" or have discussed the paperwork with me instead of just rudely refusing and then accusing me of not caring? I have used the Cab several times and usually it's ok, but I am currently in a cab and wanted to write this review in case I die. This driver doesn't know where he is going, has cut off multiple cars, and almost crashed into a car speeding through an intersection. He keeps mumbling and swearing (I think) in his native language.
