I am giving this service one star because that is the lowest I could go. People beware... I saw a cab driver block this lady in at the blaisdell center on Saturday afternoon. After he did that, he proceeded to act very aggressively toward her, pounding on her window and cussing loudly. She had pulled over in the cab spot momentarily. This was very disturbing because after I saw everything come to fruition, and he finally was done ranting and raving, I realized he was trying to attack a pregnant woman. It didn't matter..he wanted to fight. So people just beware when using this service. I'm sure other cab drivers aren't as aggressive but I will never recommend using this company read more

I had a "must be there" interview for a job. I needed to be at the Honolulu airport at 8:45 AM, and scheduled a 7:45 AM pick up the night before. I scheduled an early pick up just in case there were problems. Good thing I did that. I got an email right away confirming my pickup. The next morning I called at 7:30 AM to confirm my pick up--at first they could not find the reservation, then said, yes, they had one for 7:45. Problem was that at 7:47, there was no cab. I called back to ask, and was told THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY CABS!!! I was furious, explained the need for my pick up on time. They said they would "try" to find a cab. I called Charlie's Cab, and they dispatched one for me. Ultimately The Cab showed up around 8:05 (before Charlie's showed up--they did get a tip), and I made my interview. If it wasn't for planning on problems I would have missed the most important interview of my life! I'm deleting "The Cab" app from my phone, and will NEVER call this company again! HORRIBLE! Drivers I came in contact with all had difficulties communicating in English and understanding what I was saying. 4 out of 5 times I used their service, drivers wanted me to give them directions on how to get to my POI. Whenever I was paying with a credit card I was given an attitude. At one point when the driver dropped me off at my house, he then ended up scolding me because the only way to get out of my drive way was for him to back up...WTH? Yea...definitely NEVER AGAIN! Seriously this started off so good! I called to schedule a pick up to the airport. After this man in his 70's tried lifting my bag and struggled the whole time but I helped him. He hops in the car and says " I charge you extra for big bag" Excuse me? No, do not throw hidden costs at me, this is why I specifically told the operator where I was going what luggage I had as well as the size of them. On Oct 7, 2017 we caught a ride from TheCab at Ala Moana Center to Aulani. When we got to the hotel, the driver Ngale Pham, said her credit card machine was not working and only took cash. However, the signage in her car clearly and unambiguously states that she takes credit card. Therefore, I was forced to go to the hotel ATM and withdraw money. She followed me to the ATM. I am so furious at this whole situation. I suggest the driver be terminated for deliberately misleading me. read more

They don't return calls, they make excuses for how people criticize them when it's the fault of the driver and The Cab Company. If you drive a cab then remember, you need to turn on the meter and not just tell your customer oh I forgot. Making you believe that you still need to pay something, this is illegal. The customer service department is so bad, they tell you "We will call you right back". Then after three days no call, so you must call them again, and to top it off, they don't keep records so they have no idea of what you're talking about. So you must go over the story again. On this review, I do not think giving even half a star is accurate. This past weekend, my family and I needed a cab to pick us up from Kmart in Kapolei and take us back to our hotel at the Koolina Beach Club. (We exhausted all other vehicle/transport options prior to calling the cab company) We called 422-2222 just like the ad says on TV. The request for pick up was made at around 5:30pm and we were told by the dispatcher that a 7 seater passenger van would pick us up in approx. 10min. An hour went by and still no sign of anything even symbolizing a cab. So my brother- who is extremely polite- calls The Cab again and asks for an ETA...the lady tells him, she has no info for an ETA, so he says thank you and hangs up..not wanting to cause drama. I call 30 min later to ask for an ETA and the lady who answers puts me on hold-for about 3min, without telling me shes leaving the phone, so im trying to talk to her - and then she comes back and says the cab should be on its way. By now, its getting dark, the kids are getting hungry and its getting chilly, so my husband takes the kids inside the store and gets some pizza to diffuse a potentially cranky situation. around 7pm, still no cab- so I decide to call The Cab. I kindly ask how much longer the cab will be, and the man who answers tells me that THEY HAVE OUR PICK UP SCHEDULED FOR 12NOON THE NEXT DAY!! I was livid! They eventually sent a cab, who had to make two trips to get us to our hotel, which was fine, but they could have done that sooner! so 2.5 hours and $42 dollars later, we were back in our hotel. I called the cab company yesterday and was told they will listen to the calls since they're recorded, and will get back to me. Shannon from the Cab company, calls me back today and basically tells me that there were no errors on their side, even though our pick up request was changed to a later date- a mistake on THEIR END!!...and on top of that, she kept talking over me while I'm trying to ask questions to better understand her biased and ridiculous explanations. She kept insisting that her phone operators were correct in everything they told us over the phone because they were going off of what their boards read. Something to note as well, none of the "SUPERVISORS" spoke with me..they left it all up to this poor Shannon girl- who in turn did a horrible job if it. i made sure to tell her that none of my family or friends will be using their sorry excuse for a cab service again. I been using the cab when need a ride to the airport. Today I called for a ride. The dispatcher was nice on the phone and got me a ride. He guy shows up a few minutes early and I appreciated it. I live in Waikiki so I know my way to the airport. After two minutes in the car; I noticed the guy went the long way. So I asked him is there traffic on the main road? He said no and said he wanted to go the freeway. BULLSH*******! He took the long way just to make extra $$ and thought I was a tourist and didn't know my way around town! They sent 2 cabs that was suppose to take me to where I was going so by the time the third cab came by I was very disappointed. The cab driver was very slow just milking the meter. On Fri Sept 09, 2016, The Cab bailed me out of a huge nasty rental car scam (NEVER RENT A CAR FROM ECONOMY IN HONOLULU). The attendant on the phone, ~4:30pm, was very helpful, compassionate, living aloha. She had a vehicle to me in 5 minutes. Vehicle #825/Badge# 1606, was a very good driver, and delivered us to exactly where we needed to go and was very helpful directing us, my young child and myself. Based on my one and only experience with The Cab, I'm not sure why the reviews are so low. read more

I called back and told them to send a driver that knew where he was going. An hour and a half later my ride showed up. Still didn't speak English. I missed my flight. I was babysitting a 2 1/2 year old girl and I have my own daughter who was 8 months old at the time. We went to Whole Foods at Kahala Mall so I could buy some groceries to feed the girl what she liked, and since it was getting late, took a cab home. First of all, I did call the number and ask if they had childseats for my toddler and infant, they said no. Apparently it isn't required by law therefore they don't care about the safety of children. I risked it anyway, and rode home in the sedan vehicle with my two very young children. The driver, an older Asian guy, went on the freeway (we live near Market City, he could have easily taken Waianae) and then took out his cellphone and began talking. I was shocked and horrified -- I'm pretty sure that is illegal. I hope The Cab is reading these reviews and can take action...it was 3/20 Wednesday in the evening, from Kahala Mall Whole Foods to Kapiolani/Date. read more

I would have to agree with Liz, the number is very easy to remember. My family and I needed a cab ride back to our condo and we easily flagged down a cab from this company. We all piled in and told the cab driver where to go and he ended up telling us to get out of the cab and catch the next one, that he had "lost" something and needed to go back to look for it. I am pretty sure that it was a lie, and I let him have a piece of my mind. Then I proceeded to report him to the corporate headquarters over the phone while trying to get another cab. Now this time it was a completely different experience. Our cab driver was very friendly and also recommended some great places for us to eat and shop. He got us back to our hotel as quickly as possible (darn Ala Moana construction traffic), and we ended up leaving him a nice big tip. We had a great experience with the Cab Co from start to finish! It was the only Company that answered their phones in a courteous manner and she continued the call extremely pleasant as well! We were picked up from Honolulu (airport area) and brought to downtown Waikiki. We called ahead and the cab showed up early! The driver was professional and polite, he dropped us right at the door of the restaurant we were going! At the end of the night, I called again to receive the same outstanding customer service over the phone and a driver came pretty quick! We were surprised to see him so soon after we called! A day prior I called "Frank Delima's Taxi," The Cab. Asking if I could have a taxi for tomorrow to pick me up at point A at 6:00 am and take me to point B, Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. The lady on the phone was very sassy, I called around 5:30pm, maybe she just wanted to go home or something. Whatever lol. It was booked and I was glad. I decided to go with The Cab because it was a short ride from where I was at to the Beach Hotel. (My fare was $10.50) And I thought, what could go wrong? The taxi driver was at my destination 3 minutes before 6am. He spotted me right away and I hopped in. Said our goodmornings and how are yous and he asked where I was going. I told him the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel and we were off. Good driver, not too fast or too slow. Very quiet, but it was really early in the morning. We stopped at a corner at what looked like the right place and I paid my fare and he told me to take this right corner and there would by my hotel. So I did. BUT THEN I REALIZED.... I got dropped off at the WRONG HOTEL.... I remember clearly saying and pausing slightly between words and enunciating them too, "Aston Waikiki, BEACH Hotel." The driver dropped me off at the Aston Waikiki Beach TOWER. I couldn't believe it. I needed to be outside of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel by 6:15. It was 6:10. So I had to quickly pull up my google maps and I ran down the street to the correct hotel. Panting I made it just in time. Things could have gone terribly wrong, I'm so thankful it didn't, but still... Cab ride was good, it was clean and cheap, I just got dropped off at the wrong place. read more

The driver arrived about 7 minutes early and she had a VERY strong accent, I had a difficult time understanding her. I always call when a customer needs a cab because their number is easy to remember. They come on in time and the dispatcher is easy to talk to. Everything is good until 2 nights ago. The driver of the van we had was RUDE. He went shout out me in front of my relatives and my mom. I didn't know I didn't have to close the sliding door as I haven't ridden their van before. I didn't really close it and I was just about to when the driver KIM DAE YONG said loudly "don't touch that freaking door.!" I was so embarrassed because he shouted at me. And when I finally got in the car, he told me so loud "You might as well break it huh"....I was so speechless and nobody said a word while where in the car. I'm actually a generous person. I would of given him more if he was nice. I tried to call the number that was posted on the vehicle to report complaints but nobody has been answering.
