Monday April 21, 2025 I visited The Bruch Pub with about ten plus others. My choice was a Rueben sandwich. When I received it I look good and was well plated. I had one bite and did not taste the flavor of a Rueben as I have encountered before. I did noticed the sauerkraut was more like cabbage taste and texture and very little, too. Also the sandwich did not have very much Thousand Island dressing either. I wished not to bring up the issue for I was with a large party for a young girl's 21 birthday as was unsure how the server would react for this was my first visit there. Please know I do not wish to say anything negative as the rest of the party seemed to have a good experience. When I return I will not request the same sandwich. Pretty place on the outside but the inside decor was lacking. The omelette was $10 BEFORE adding anything to it. The fruit looked like it had been sitting out for too long. The bacon was not crisp as ordered. The toast was dry - no butter. The only really good dish was the grits - not too watery and not too dry. We were in the area following an doctors appointment. We were hungry and honestly, going somewhere familiar but we saw customers coming out of the building and decided to stop. We wasn't familiar with the menu, so we decided to stop and see if there was anything on the menu worth eating. The decorations are nice, the seats were comfortable and there is plenty of lighting in the main room. Our server, Brandon F was friendly and knowledgeable about the food items. He was attentive about everything. My wife ordered the ricotta French toast with chicken sausage and I had the waffle with blueberry and strawberries on top. I also ordered the chicken sausage. We were satisfied with our meal. I didn't order coffee because it was over $3 and I don't like coffee that is weak, so I chose not to order. If I was far from home maybe I would have ordered the coffee. We live 20 minutes away so, if we are in the area, we might stop again read more

Came in for brunch with a friend after the wait was long at our original location. When seated, the preset coffee cup was dirty (and we waited while they cleaned and reset the booth). When informing the server she was very nonchalant about it no biggie really... things happen. When she came back we were not quite ready to order and asked her to give us a minute. She then disappeared for quite some time before returning... they a were not busy and seemed appropriately staffed. My friend and I chose to split 2 meals. When the expo brought out the food, a side of ketchup slid from the plate, hit the floor and went everywhere. She got the worst of it but my brand new white cloth shoes took a hit as well as my pants. Never did anyone apologize. Never did a manager or our server address the mishap. I had to ask for towels, napkins, & club soda in an attempt to clean up (but my shoes are ruined). I spent 10 minutes trying to clean my brand new shoes only for my food to sit and get cold. Then had to ask for condiments to replace what was dropped, ask for basics like salt & pepper, and still assumed someone would address my ruined BEAND NEW Nikes. We finish eating. Stack and push our plates awaiting someone to prebus. Yet no one did. Then... the bill came and we were told there was a "mix up" with the bills and the table who had parted before us that was behind us (we heard their frustration with many issues as well)... had gotten our bill in error, paid it and so we had theirs. We were assured it was "less". At this point I'm boiling as the entire experience lacked and still... NO ONE... addressed my ruined shoes. I get it, accidents happen... but how you handle those is what makes a difference. I asked for a manager, when he came over, he came with an attitude like he was annoyed. When I asked if he was aware of the dropped ketchup, he got defensive, it was clear he was aware bc his response "was she didn't drop it on you, it slid from the plate & accidents happen". Then I addressed the check issue, and he was very hostile in saying they would just take care of the bill. That was not my goal. I just wanted my bill, one that was accurate for what we had ordered. I would have been nice to get an apology & not be met with hostility. It would have been good to get some reassurance that perhaps they would coach their employees on over carrying to prevent mishaps. The entire situation left a bad taste... and it's hard to even evaluate the food bc by the time I was able to eat it... it was cold. read more

We were quickly seated on an early Monday evening. Wait staff were attentive but not overly imposing. We started with beers and the pimento cheese crab rangoon. We found the crab rangoon to be disappointing. We didn't notice any cheese and would not order this again. One of our choices was a prime rib sandwich which was enough for a satisfying meal and a 1/2 sandwich of later. It could have used more the horseradish. Our other choice was the Hot Hen sandwich and it was an amazing collection of great flavors. And we took home 1/2 of this sandwich also. Each meal included well prepared French fries. All of the food was hot and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find our beers were $2 off and our appetizer was 1/2 price. It must have been happy hour but nobody informed us. We will definitely return and try some of the other menu items. We saw a pizza at another table and it looked great. The room started out a bit warm but became more comfortable through our meal. Best brunch spot in Dayton! I'm very picky about waffles and theirs did not disappoint. The fruit was fresh and the waffle was cooked to perfection! They offer the freshest salads. Huge portions too. You can tell the food is farm to table. I enjoyed the ambience and service! Even though they were extremely busy they got us seated right away by the bar. I can't wait to go back to try the pizza. We went on January 17, 2025 for dinner, 6:00 p.m., 6 people total, and the restaurant was not busy. I noticed a sign on the door that they were celebrating one year since opening. It was our first visit. The atmosphere is nice and our server was good. My wife's chicken piccata tasted good even though the chicken was a little thin and dry. The bowl the piccata was served in had multiple chips around ¾ of the edge. When dishes are chipped, they need to be thrown away. Our friend's old fashioned was not sweet enough for his taste so I asked for some extra simple syrup, they brought out another rocks glass with no more than a teaspoon of simple syrup. Enough to do the job, but kind of skimpy. Thanks to our server that listened and remembered to bring it! I ordered the Citrus Herb Scallops which is described as having "Sea Scallops" ($31 on the Entrée list). When the dish arrived (over an hour after ordering) it was a plate of mushroom risotto with 5 BAY scallops (largest was 3/4 inch diameter at best). Bay scallops and Sea scallops are very different! Sea scallops are approximately 2 inches in diameter. Bay scallops are typically used in soups, paella, and bite size appetizers. I told our server to take it away and take it off the bill, and wanted to speak to the manager. The server came back and said it would be taken off the bill, but the manager never came out. Three of six at the table (the women) were served their meals almost an hour after ordering. The men's dishes slowly followed, one at a time. The last dish, a pizza, came out when the rest of us were almost finished eating. We told our server that we were not upset with her, but that we wanted to talk with her manager due to the incorrect wording on their menu; Sea scallops vs. Bay scallops. The manager never came out to speak with any of us, but sent our server back with two $10 gift cards; one for us, one for our friend that got his pizza late. That is a VERY WEAK manager! The restaurant industry is difficult and competitive. I wanted to be constructive, not angry. Because of these multiple issues, I gave our gift card to our friends as I will not be back. Food is low-average. You can clearly tell just by tasting they're food that they are using the lowest of lowest quality food. Shakshuka was super oily, inedible. You can tell they used canned tomatoes for the whole thing, which is unauthentic, yet super expensive ($17). So if you're perfectly fine with paying that much for extreme low quality, and unflavored food. Come here. I absolutely will never be coming back. What i think were the owner were arguing very loudly! when ordering chicken and waffles i think sweet salty and some sweet heat. It was sweet on top of sweet and more sweet with little to no heat then topped with powder sugar which was more sweet. My husband ordered the steak sandwich that was great! They need to work on their professionalism when speaking to one another. The wait staff seemed uncomfortable with the yelling. Also when we were exiting the table the owner it seemed was hovering like we wasn't leaving fast enough so he could clear the table. We had brunch this am and were refused a reservation within 2 hours of our arrival. I had the lemon ricotta French toast that was charred and made it taste like burnt toast. When I asked for it to be remade the manager told me it was not possible to make it without the charring due to cooking it on the grill. After that the waiter never returned to our table to refill water nor iced teaand hot tea. My companion ordered an omelet and reported it was not very good either. The atmosphere is bar like-- dark and loud which made it hard to see the burnt food so I tasted it without knowing it was burnt. Not a very inviting place for brunch. I really struggled to find anything that sounded good to order. It was a disappointment for a restaurant named Brunch. I see no reason to return. read more

Sunday noon and the wait was 30 minutes. It's a popular place I guess. This was our first time here. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict. I'm not one to ever leave food on my plate but this was less than average. It was smothered in a thick hollandaise sauce that covered everything. The bagel, which was small, was hard to find. The salmon was overly large and tasteless (almost fishy). It was such a large piece of salmon spread across the two bagel halves I had to wonder about the quality but couldn't really find it due to the hollandaise sauce, and to top it off it was luke warm when it came out. It's a brunch place and I thought the coffee would be good at least. It wasn't, and with only half and half as a creamer it was lacking. (OK we like our heavy cream in our coffee). The staff was pleasant, friendly and did a nice job. The place is nice inside and out and it was a beautiful day if you were lucky enough to get an outside table. There are so many new places around Centerville we will probably try a few more before considering returning. We also shared a lemon ricotta fench toast amongst the 4 of us as well. It was OK, the French Toast needed to be more toasted. I gave it 3 stars because of the friendliness of the staff. read more

My BF & I spontaneously met his friend for Sunday brunch, here.-I live in the Centerville area & each time I've passed the place...I've thought to myself that I need to look into it but have then forgotten about it. Well, this place is no longer forgettable now that I've gone! Our friend enjoyed his N/A moscow mule & my BF enjoyed his OJ, while I sipped on water for our beverages. The 3 of us shared bacon as an appetizer and it was thick & hearty and cooked to absolute perfection. Not too crispy. Not at all soft & soggy. It was Goldilocks bacon...just right. I highly suggest you get bacon with your breakfast/brunch entree or before it, as we did. For my entree, I got the corned beef hash skillet & it did not disappoint. It was a beautiful, hearty serving of roasted potatoes, thick pieces of corned beef, sautéed onion, red pepper, and fresh slices of jalapeños. The entree was beautifully displayed & served in a hot skillet, topped with an egg, made to order, (over easy for me) and then a hefty amount of cheese is added and melted on. Fresh microgreens are the finishing touch on this rustic, yet elegantly comforting dish. My BF got the lemon ricotta French toast, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our friend ordered and enjoyed the steak sandwich. We sat outdoors on a beautiful Sunday afternoon enjoying each other's company, catching up, over good eats. Location is great, just outside downtown Centerville. Building is a historical landmark and they did a great job updating the interior/exterior while maintaining the historic look. Made a reservation for lunch, was fairly crowded but still available seating for a Wednesday at noon. Place was clean, not overly bright, classical look. We were greeted almost immediately and placed our order. Son and I ordered chicken and waffles, wife ordered The lemon ricotta French toast. Food came out within reasonable time. C&W was a nice large Belgian waffle with a large chicken breast. Supposed to be served with hot honey, but it was regular syrup. Waffle was excellent but chicken breading was thick and overcooked, chicken was ok and not dry. Gave us a very small amount of syrup for such a big C&W. Today, I went to the Brunch Pub and ordered the recommended biscuits and gravy. The place is nice, and I can see it being a great spot to eat at. I took a friend who also ordered the same biscuits and gravy. However, he did not like it, whereas I found it to be okay. The gravy was somewhat sweet and lacked a savory taste. Despite finding it okay, I have to rate it poorly because I immediately vomited upon arriving home, and my stomach is still upset. It's possible I have a bug, but it's more likely due to the biscuits and gravy. I'm unsure what was used in the roux. If you're fond of your Grandma's biscuits and gravy, these aren't comparable. I'm open to giving this place a second chance because it has a nice vibe, but for biscuits and gravy, I'll stick to Bob Evans. It's a cool place, but if I want to upset my stomach, I can save money by eating at Long John's instead. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but my first experience there was not the greatest. We went for lunch on a Wednesday. It took a long time to get seated though there was not a line of people waiting. The hostess was nice but she was overwhelmed with drying off tables and getting cushions for the outdoor dining area. The outdoor space could have been lovely, but the tables are crammed in so close together we felt our neighbors were right on top of us. They were a loud family of four adults. We asked to be relocated inside and the hostess moved us into our servers section inside. That was a signal to us that she had a large area to cover so service would be slow. The dining room was fairly full and the noise level was higher than we'd hoped. Although she was very pleasant, this server was not very efficient and made many trips back and forth to the kitchen without refilling drinks, picking up dishes or checking in with us. When the food arrived forty five minutes later, it was a mixed effort. My husband had a Caesar salad with chicken and I had one with Salmon. His chicken was great, nicely marinated and sliced perfectly. My salmon was dry, much of the romaine lettuce was slimy and the croutons rock hard. My husband asked me if I would go back there and give them a second chance. I said yes, but it would be for just drinks and maybe a burger. read more

Overall, this was well prepared and very tasty. Overall, the Waffle was not so good. The size and presentation were great. The strawberries and blueberries on top were delicious and fresh. The waffle itself is pretty lousy - has no flavor, tastes like flour. I ate about 1/3 of it. Definitely won't get that again. They need a different recipe. Service was good - no issues. I had a nice server. The prices are expensive when comparing to other places to eat breakfast. I will come back one day - for me the prices will keep me from returning frequently. read more

We've been to brunch pub twice so far once for brunch and once for dinner. Both meals were top notch. Service was spectacular! We highly recommend the wonton nachos and baklava.
