Came here for dinner and I gotta say the ambiance was a 10 out of 10. I loved the cozy and warm vibes and the decor of the place. The staff was super friendly and when I asked for recommendations (which I know can be annoying) they gave me a thorough review of their favorite dishes. They were also just super friendly and made me feel well taken care of. I got the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and the texas burger. The portion sizes were great and enough for 2 meals. The only critique I have is both plates were missing a sweet element for me. And this is mainly just a personal preference. I think a little balsamic glaze on the mushrooms would have elevated the dish for me. And a sweeter as opposed to a tangy BBQ sauce on the burger would have balanced out more for me. Fairly new place open in Centerville. Plenty of parking, food was good. Somewhat of a limited dinner menu but still enough options. You can expect around $17 for handheld options and at least $25 for specialties. Our table got everything from pizza to chicken and waffles. The atmosphere is pretty cool inside but they have a patio seating option as well if you don't mind the traffic on Franklin. Service was good, not great. I used to go ALL the time when it was the best Mexican place in town in the early 2000s, but was sad to see if close even though it went down hill big time. If you want to go, get reservations! I had seen mention you need to, they were right, the parking lot was packed. I left my reservation on the voice mail and they called me back. Now the food. My dining companions got the traditional eggs washed bacon and it looked great, and they all but licked the plate clean, but I am not for normal if there's something new to be had... I've heard of shashuka for years, and it's the first time I've seen it on a menu! Of course I was ordering it! Okay, shashuka is from the middle east and north africa, it's peppers, garlic, and tomatoes, not hot, but spicy in a zesty way, and was more like a thick zesty chunky pomodoro with poached eggs on top. This also had avocado and cilantro, coz 'Merica. It came with ciabatta toast. I knew you ate it by scooping bread into it so I asked for extra toast up front because I knew no matter how much they gave me if wouldn't be enough. Imma bread person, and I was right. I was very hopeful The Brunch Pub would be great, because it's so close to home. That was not the case. They are a new restaurant and probably still working out a LOT of bugs, so I won't focus energy on any of that. There are no allergy notifications on their menu so I asked if they had a gluten free version, which they don't. The waitress wasn't able to help guide me through possibilities. With very limited options I ordered an $18 omelette with 2 cheeses and sausage with potatoes. The omelette was bland, warm'ish with a very small amount of what I believe to be bagged frozen crumbled sausage, which was void of flavor. I could have made it so much better at home. The place was packed on a Sunday morning at 11:15 AM. We debated whether to come here several times and finally went for it. I ordered the little breakfast, which was one egg one piece of bacon, a half a piece of toast and fruit. Husband had the brunch burger ordered well done. His came back red in the middle. Sent it back and 10 minutes later got the same hamburger back but well done. My eggs were cold. I asked for another order of whole-grain toast. This is what I got for $3. Had decent happy hours specials for food and drinks, but the service was terrible. Our table asked several minutes before the end of happy hour for our server, who had not returned in a long time, to get more drinks in before 6:00pm. Offered to order at the bar, but was told by the hostess she would send our server over. Waited and waited longer then was denied the happy hour discount. The back room was rented by a large party - someone had a microphone - so it was overly loud. They did an amazing job renovating this place. They have a bar area with about 10 stools. It is NOT a full service bar. You get what they have on the menu or you don't get it. I ordered a margarita, the most basic drink at any bar, and was denied. The only Cabernet they had was Chilean and $30 a glass. They have 8 taps. Two stouts, two wheats, a coffee beer, two IPA's, and an Irish ale. Three taps were Great Lakes, two Madtree, Bells, 50 West, and New Belgium. The atmosphere is nice. It's not too loud, they have neutral music quietly in the background, and the seating areas all look comfortably spaced. I sat at the bar as I was flying solo. The menu has a decent selection. It has half a dozen appetizers, half a dozen salads, and about the same number of entrees. They also offer brick oven pizzas in a "make your own" format and $2.50 per topping. A vegetarian would not have a problem finding something to eat here. I ordered the brick oven pizza. They call it a personal pizza but it's definitely large. It is $15 and I got two toppings which made it a $20 pizza. High expectations at that point. I asked for crushed red pepper and Parmesan, they only offer parm. Those are very standard with pizza. The pizza was a grease bomb. Every yellow spot you see on the pizza is grease. The next picture is what I left on the bar. Not good! I ate the $5 worth of toppings off of it and abandoned the rest. The service was good. She picked up right away that I didn't enjoy the pizza and offered to take it off my bill. I insisted on paying. It's opening week and there will always be kinks to work out. We drove by this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. We went Sunday morning around 10:45-11am. We were seated right away but then a rush did come shortly after but we planned for that. Our server was right with us and we ordered right away because we viewed the menu before hand. The hosts and the server were all very nice and welcoming. We did have to wait around 25 mins for the food but it wasn't the end of the world. The food was decent, nothing that I would be dying to have again, but it was still good. The only complaint is that we were seated in the large room and it filled up and became SO loud in there. My partner and I couldn't even hear each other. Not sure what the fix for that would be but it was slightly annoying. I ordered a child's grilled cheese sandwich as I wasn't very hungry. Cost was $9. It came with fries but I asked to substitute. Got the fruit. It was a nice size but only the three grapes looked fresh; the remaining fruit was cut into very small pieces and was old. The grilled cheese was good but very messy. Monday April 21, 2025 I visited The Bruch Pub with about ten plus others. My choice was a Rueben sandwich. When I received it I look good and was well plated. I had one bite and did not taste the flavor of a Rueben as I have encountered before. I did noticed the sauerkraut was more like cabbage taste and texture and very little, too. Also the sandwich did not have very much Thousand Island dressing either. I wished not to bring up the issue for I was with a large party for a young girl's 21 birthday as was unsure how the server would react for this was my first visit there. Please know I do not wish to say anything negative as the rest of the party seemed to have a good experience. When I return I will not request the same sandwich. We were in the area following an doctors appointment. We were hungry and honestly, going somewhere familiar but we saw customers coming out of the building and decided to stop. We wasn't familiar with the menu, so we decided to stop and see if there was anything on the menu worth eating. The decorations are nice, the seats were comfortable and there is plenty of lighting in the main room. Our server, Brandon F was friendly and knowledgeable about the food items. He was attentive about everything. My wife ordered the ricotta French toast with chicken sausage and I had the waffle with blueberry and strawberries on top. I also ordered the chicken sausage. We were satisfied with our meal. I didn't order coffee because it was over $3 and I don't like coffee that is weak, so I chose not to order. We were quickly seated on an early Monday evening. Wait staff were attentive but not overly imposing. We started with beers and the pimento cheese crab rangoon. We found the crab rangoon to be disappointing. We didn't notice any cheese and would not order this again. Came in for brunch with a friend after the wait was long at our original location. When seated, the preset coffee cup was dirty (and we waited while they cleaned and reset the booth). When informing the server she was very nonchalant about it no biggie really... things happen. When she came back we were not quite ready to order and asked her to give us a minute. She then disappeared for quite some time before returning... they a were not busy and seemed appropriately staffed. My friend and I chose to split 2 meals. When the expo brought out the food, a side of ketchup slid from the plate, hit the floor and went everywhere. She got the worst of it but my brand new white cloth shoes took a hit as well as my pants. Never did anyone apologize. Never did a manager or our server address the mishap. I had to ask for towels, napkins, & club soda in an attempt to clean up (but my shoes are ruined). I spent 10 minutes trying to clean my brand new shoes only for my food to sit and get cold. Then had to ask for condiments to replace what was dropped, ask for basics like salt & pepper, and still assumed someone would address my ruined BEAND NEW Nikes. We finish eating. Stack and push our plates awaiting someone to prebus. Yet no one did. Then... the bill came and we were told there was a "mix up" with the bills and the table who had parted before us that was behind us (we heard their frustration with many issues as well)... had gotten our bill in error, paid it and so we had theirs. We were assured it was "less". At this point I'm boiling as the entire experience lacked and still... NO ONE... addressed my ruined shoes. I get it, accidents happen... but how you handle those is what makes a difference. I asked for a manager, when he came over, he came with an attitude like he was annoyed. When I asked if he was aware of the dropped ketchup, he got defensive, it was clear he was aware bc his response "was she didn't drop it on you, it slid from the plate & accidents happen". Then I addressed the check issue, and he was very hostile in saying they would just take care of the bill. That was not my goal. I just wanted my bill, one that was accurate for what we had ordered. I would have been nice to get an apology & not be met with hostility. It would have been good to get some reassurance that perhaps they would coach their employees on over carrying to prevent mishaps. The entire situation left a bad taste... and it's hard to even evaluate the food bc by the time I was able to eat it... it was cold. read more
